May 1, 2011I wired it all up correctly, and Continue to get "error 322: check router" upon every attempted install. I did some research and tried releasing and renewing IP amongst restarting all networking devices AND PC's. Peculiar enough, I could connect AND get online wirelessly from a netbook, but neither of my 2 PC's could connect via a wire. I got a defective router, is it possible the ports are malfunctioning? because the lights are on, but 3 or all of the 4 lights are continually on when only 2 ports are plugged in

Dec 1, 2011I'm having an issue where essentially my only course of action is to unplug the router and plug it back in. I can connect my laptop (Dell Inspiron N4010) and my phone (HTC Inspire) once. But then if I put my computer to sleep, or I take my phone out of the wireless range and come back, I cannot connect again. I've gone through and played with the settings (changing the upnp, the beacon intervals, the channel, etc) but to no avail. Invariably, I always have to come back to unplugging and plugging back in.
Also have a Kobo E-Reader and a wireless Canon printer. The whole point of a wireless printer was so that it would stay connected and I can print from my laptop. This router is making this useless.

Jan 13, 2012My wifi works for my laptop and printer, but I can't get my itouch to accept my password. When I go to the itouch settings>networks it shows our network with a lock, but I put in the key and it says "unable to join xxx network" (dismiss). I have tried the password with and w/o dashes, I've checked the router on my hardwired computer and found the password there, so I know I have the right one. I've unplugged the router in the hopes to reboot, but no difference. I have briefly jumped on my neighbor's unlocked network, so I know the itouch works.

Jul 5, 2011Well, I have a WRT120N Router for 11 months to now. I never had a problem with the Router, but since 2 days ago, It didnt connect to the internet.
My network is: Internet > Cable Modem > WRT120N > Computers
As I said, the problem is that the Router doesnt has Internet Connection.
Things to take in consideration: The Cable MODEM ISN'T the problem Because if i connect the modem directly to a computer, I have Internet connection without problems.I Diconnected and Connected both Modem and Router in several ways and several times, and it doesnt work.I also tryed clonning my PCs MAC address to the Router and it was the same.The Router Indeed receives the External IP Address from the Modem, and also, it changes if i restart the modem (as my ISP IP is DHCP). But there is NO internet conection.The Router had the 1.0.05 Firmware, and i upgraded to 1.0.06, and the problem persists. Another thing to take in account is that if I turn off my modem and the I turn it On, sometimes, the router receives Internet connection, but in matter of Seconds (minutes as much), the internet connection falls.
This is NOT an ISP problem, because as I said, if I connect the Modem Directly to any PC, i have a perfectly normal Internet Connection, And also, I called my ISP and they Said me that there werent any problem on their network.
I have also tryed with the "Router Dianostics" (the Ping and Traceroute options that are in the Router's Webend and also, no conection. So its NOT a Cables problem.

I tried connect my Ethernet wire from my computer to the wireless router but it's not connecting or registering. The wireless router is a WRT54G and I can access the device ip for it but I don't know how to assign an IP address for the new computer. I already had a computer (wired) and a laptop (wireless) connected to the router. One desktop computer will stay wired to the 2Wire and laptop or 2 will connect to the WRT54GL since the 2Wire cannot reach into the yard (metal buiding). I've seen several examples of connecting two WRT54G together. I Can I do that well with std Linksys software or would I be better off downloading Tomato or DD-WRT third party?

Nov 10, 2011So I have this E1500 Router that worked fine for the past 5 months, then out of the blue, the wireless feature ceased to function... laptops were not being able to connect to the wireless, the router was also not broadcasting the SSID.So, here's what I have done so far:
1. Check the router software settings, all was good there.
2. Did a "hardware reset" pushing the red button. (now this solved the problem, BUT only for a day, when power is turned off for the night, the next day it's non-functional again. The cycle can be repeated daily, but its a pain to reset and set it up everyday)
3. Updated the Firmware, and this somehow solved the problem for 3 Days... and now it's back to non-functional, again out of the Blue.
Is the Router just busted and it's not remembering the settings?

As a result minimal ping to any of the devices in wireless network is 8 ms – the best result and sometimes rises to 20 ms. Consequently when working with local network resources one suffers from speed decrease. Ping to the access point through the wire varies from 1 to 8 ms. These delays are quite strange as even on cheaper routers ping does not rise above 2 ms (usually <1ms). Is it normal for the device?

May 15, 2013At one of our offices, we have a Cisco ASA5505 firewall that has dhcp enabled. I have a WRT54G router plugged into that firewall with DHCP enabled. The scope of our inside network is 192.168.51.***, however when connected to the WRT54G, it gives you the scope of 192.168.1.***We have an antenna amplifier screwed into one of the antenna ports on the router. This whole setup works fine.
The problem is we need to install an access point WAP54G in a building across the property (picks up router wireless signal fine) to repeat the wireless signal to the back of the property where the router will not reach. I have read that all you need to do is type in the wireless mac address of the routher into the access point and select "Wireless Repeater". I have the channels set to 6 on both devices as well as the same security configuration. When I try to connect to the wireless network on the access point, It never gives me an ip in the 192.168.1.*** scope, which the WRT54G is configured to give out. Also, in this setup does the WRT54G need to be set to router or gateway mode? I do not need it to distribute ip addresses. [code]

I brought a longer White wire so it would reach from downstairs where it is plugged in to upstairs (if I just plug in modem in upstairs it will not connect) So this is the idea I have downstairs the phone that is plugged into another white wire extender that leads from the main plug in the wall. In that extender is the phone and the OTHER extender that leads upstairs to a room just above. The extender leading upstairs has the internet modem plugged into it. now the extender white wire from the other extender downstairs has one of those white square plugs. (the ones that go from the main socket and the phone and modem connects too) And that Square plug is where the modem is plugged into. BUT now this is the annoying part! it will not connect to the internet without being in the same plug as the phone downstairs!

They have same wireless ssid and password with one using channel 10 and the other using channel 2. I can receive an ip address from the router and connect to internet. I cannot get an ip address from the access point. I tried a static ip on the computer and it will connect, but I don't have internet. Am I missing something in the setup?
