I own an E4200 and my wife and I use Goodreader on our ipads at home. To add docs to goodreader we need to connect to the ipads ip on port 8080 but the E4200 is blocking all traffic for it. How can I open port 8080 for our 2 ipads?

I wish to open my NAT type as currently its moderate on all games.Where the hell is the area to add the port ranges?? Is it even an option on the new connect cloud? If it is, it doesn't make it very easy to find. Would be allot easier if you had a tab/app for "Gaming/Applications" like you did previously.

Have set up both Single Port and Port Range Forwarding for port 9000.On trying to access media server, get message " could not connect to xxx.xxx.x.xxx:9000"Using online Open Ports Checkers shows this port is closed.

I am trying to scan a directv device that is connected on my lan it uses port 8080. My hardwired machine returns the expected data, any call from a device connected via my wireless network returns a page can not be displayed. It appears as if the router is blocking ports 8080 over wifi only.

View 5 Replies View RelatedBeen more than 2 years since I purchsed this router from US and has been working flawlessly till now. Lately I have been facing issues with few websites not opening when my laptop is connected to the router using a lan cable. Sites like speedtest.net (I get the download speed but when it needs to upload it is stuck there forever), [URL] is another which just does not open.
I tried opening these sites using e4200 wifi and everything works perfectly. I even updated the firmware to the latest 1.0.05 build 7 Aug 23, 2012 but still the same issue.
My router set to Automatic configuration - DHCP...
Also when I directly connect the internet cable to my laptop lan, everything opens without any issues.
How do I go about opening specific ports on an E4200?I'm having disconnect issues with a particular game, and the Customer Service drone thinks the ports required for the game aren't open. View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having a NAT issue with my two xboxes. The router is an e1000 v2.1 firmware 2.1.02. One xbox is wired into the router and the other has a wireless adapter. The wireless xbox gets open nat automatically, while the wired one's nat is strict. If i mess with DMZ and turn UPnP off i can get the wired to be open but the wireless one to be strict. Also port forwarding does not seem to work because only one or the other xboxes will get an open NAT. I do have the the correct ports in the port triggering section set to on but that does not seem like it works.

I have an E4200 and a WD MyBook Essential 2TB. They were working very well for the longest time, detecting a speed of USB 2.0. I had to get a new desk, thus had to disconnect all my devices, including the router. After plugging everything back in, the router only detects USB 1.1, even though the device is clearly USB 2.0.

I'm a happy user of the E4200 for a few weeks now, and all in all it's a very robust and useful router.Within my network I have a webserver running using both HTTP (TCP 80) and HTTPS (TCP 443). I want to make this webserver available to the internet and so I configure port forwarding to forward port TCP 80 and TCP 443 to my internal webserver. As soon as I now apply these settings, I loose connection to the webinterface of the E4200 and get connected to my internal webserver. I would expect the router would only forward connections coming in through the external interface of the router, however this is apparently not the case (or at least not in my setup). So I tried setting up remote management on a different port to at least allow me to remotely manage the router, but this does not work from my internal network.
Right now, I'm assuming I'm doing something wrong, or have miss-configured something. Is it possible to switch the webadmin port to a different port (like 8080 and 8443)?
After updated firmware to 1.0.03 still can't log in to ftp on port other than 21 ( eg. 2121 ). Will it be fixed ever ? I told with guys on live chat but connection broked twice.

I had this working on my Linksys WRT160N and copied all of the settings so they are identical to those on that router but forwarding does not work. I have tried single port forwarding, multiple port forwarding and even DMZ with the same lack of results.

Also tried to place the NAS in DMZ, but also I cannot connect it from outside my network. Inside my network, there is no problem.I also connected the NAS directly to the internet, and then I can access it from outside my network.I already tried a factory reset, disabled UPnP and IPv6, but nothing seems to work. I also replaced the router with a Cisco E3200, but it makes no difference.
