View 2 RepliesIf Anonymous Disk Access is selected, read-only files cannot be deleted; nor can the file attributes be changed. This is true even if one attempts to connect as an administrator. Unchecking Anonymous Disk Access and logging on as an administrator fixed this problem for me, but I'd think there are 2 issues.
1. Anonymous Disk Access should allow deletion of ANY files. I would expect this to be a "wide open" setting.
2. If Anonymous Disk Access is selected, a valid login should take precedence.
Is there any possibility to set linksys E4200 for support anonymous acces to ftp server in read and write mode ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust swapped to an ActionTec modem with a very nice GUI on it. I would like to be able to access the GUI from any computer on my network. The modem is in bridge mode, with it's DHCP server turned off. My e4200v2 has a base address of 192.168.1.1, is running DHCP and NAT is enabled. The modem is attached to the WAN port.I would like to enter a static route to get to the router, but I keep getting "invalid static route".
View 2 Replies View RelatedOnce in a while, I lose Internet connection and at the same time cannot reach my Siemens Speetstream 4100b DSL modem's setup page 192.168.0.1 ; it happened again this morning (from both wired and wirelessy connected computers). When I go to the router's setup page 192.168.1.1 , it would usually in that situation show that the router has not acquired the Internet IP Address; I power-recycle (a few times) both modem and router and eventually the router reports that it has acquired the Internet IP Address, but there is still no Internet, and the DSL modem's setup page 192.168.0.1 is unreacheable. The situation usually self-resolves only in an hour or so after the time the router has acquired the Internet IP Address: Internet starts working, and the DSL modem's setup page 192.168.0.1 becomes reacheable.

if it is possible to access a modem setup page with a E4200 router? My router is on 192.168.254.200 and modem(WAG-200G) is on 192.168.254.100, ethernet cable is on internet port on the e4200 and on port1 on the modem. Modem is set is bridge and I set up a ppoe and dhcp on router. Everything is ok, except that i can not access modem setup page to see adsl conection speed and settings.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a e4200 router, And a 660 series modem, I'm trying to portforward for a game called minecraft, I cannot seem to get the ports to open, I've called Century link they told me to put my modem in to bridge mode, So I did they said my IP should be public not private now, It is still private
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a d-link dsl modem that reports it's getting the full 6 meg download speed from AT&T. I put the dsl modem in bridge mode so the E4200 will do the logon to AT&T with my credentials. If i do a speed check using CNET internet speed test, from both a desktop (wired 1gb card) and any laptop in the house (all draft n 2.4 or 5.0), it ranges anywhere from 3 meg to 4.3 meg. I have 6 cat-e ethernet cords everywhere. I do have 2 switches but have tried to unplug those to see if any difference
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have my main router, a E4200v2 which I use as a router and it provides wireless signal throughout my house, however reception is not as strong on the upper floor and there is a slight dead spot, so I purchased an E4200 for the uppermost floor.I set the E4200 to bridge mode so it will act solely as an AP.However connecting the two routers LAN to LAN and the AP does not access the internet.Setting a static IP for the router, instead of acquiring one via DHCP causes me to not be able to access the admin page on the AP.
Connecting WAN on the E4200 to the LAN on the v2 does not work either. My goal here is to have my main router on 192.168.1.1 and the AP on 192.168.1.2 where I can access the admin settings for both routers in case I need to make changes.
I have my e4200 connected to another modem/router (2Wire 3600HGV), because the other router does not support Wireless N. I can connect to my E4200 network, but there's just no connection to the internet. I reseted my e4200 but still no luck. I've unplugged both routers and replugged them, nothing. I know it's possible because I've had it set up before but I had my 2Wire exchanged for a newer one.
Firmware: 1.00.4
Just to be sure. I have the cable going from my modem out of port #1 and into my e4200 where it says internet, thats correct, right? On my e4200 i have the IP 192.168.1.2 but on the 2Wire I have the e4200 as 1.92.168.1.66.
e4200 internet keeps dropping

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a E4200 V1 with firmware 1.0.0.5 installed The problem is that when I connect the cable from my modem to my router and recycle both I get a rapidly fashing Cisco light and can not connect to the internet. If I remove that cable and recycle the router my network works but (obviously) I have no internet connectivity. This was working (almost 2 years) without issue until today.I updated the firmware and did a factory reset and neither resolved the issue. My next experiment is to see if I can't get log files (since the factory reset) but I can't do that at this time.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just purchased e4200 from a friend of mine. Got an issue with setup of this device. I use a model from internet provider. Have 2 computers at home. One is pc with cable, another one mac with wireless.SO my issue is that i can not connect none of them. I was trying to use cd that comes with router but he can not locate a router. When I connect cable directly from modem to computer everything works fine. As soon I connect cable to a router I can not see a router and I can not connect to internet.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have put two different e4200 routers in my network and both of them have the same issue. I believe there are some major firmware bugs with this router. First of all I set up everything using the web interface. My laptops could connect to the network and internet but any of my devices that use wireless bridges (WET610N) to connect could only get local network access. They could not connect to the internet. After some troubleshooting I found the reason it was not working properly. I used DHCP reservations in my network because of port forwarding and such. Well when the devices connected to the bridges were in the reservation list they were unable to connect to the internet. After I removed them they now are able to get on the internet without a problem. So that is the first problem I've found so far...
The second is I can no longer connect from my Xbox 360 to my Media Center PC. I tried to set up a new connection but this did not work either.
ever since i had a power failure losing all power in my apartment, my router has begun regularily losing connection to the internet, I have to go into the router and renew ip address which is quite annoying

I setup my E4200 v2 with different SSID's for 2.4 and 5GHz modes. I have no problem with a 2.4 Ghz connection on my laptop, but I cannot connect to the internet in 5GHz. mode. I choose the 5 GHz SSID and enter the passphrase but no luck, even though I have a full 4 bars inthe wireless icon.
View 4 Replies View Relatedmy e4200 wireless. I have internet connection speed of 40mb and I have epc 3925 working in bridged mode as modem and E4200 as router. When I connect my laptop with wire on e4200 I am getting 37-38 Mbps on speedtest.net which is perfectly fine. But on wireless I am having a lot of dropping of speed: I have 2mps then jumping to 5-6 Mbps and so on it never goes more than 5-6 Mbps. When I disable WMM Support in QoS I am having perfectly constant 20mbps but... I have only g network 54mbps. [code]

I do have internet connection via wifi as im using it now....why I loose connection to the router? The lease time is 24h and it can happen more than once in a day.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a 100mb conection and regularly get 90mb plus speed when conected direct to the modem. If I conect via the E4200 I only get 50mb ? I have tried disabling the firewall and QOS but this has had no effect. I am using a wired conection and the latest firmware. Its almost as the E4200 is capped at 50mb throughput.

I have all the computers working fine in the house except my desktop. it connects fine to the network, can see the other computers on the network, can even do a windows update. But when I go to use google chrome or internet explorer it just wont access the internet. It doesn't seem to work either if it is a wired connection, or a wireless connection It was fine before the upgrade and subsequent downgrade. It was on this desktop that i installed and uninstalled thew Connection cloud. I know enough to set up the network but when it doesn't work
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem with Wake on Lan. (I'll bet you never guessed from the title, eh?). I have an E4200 and I can not get WoL to work over the internet.(I'm assuming it's not actually going out to the internet when I wirelessly wake it using shawn.dynamicservice.com and the subnet, but rather the DDNS name is being resolved through the ARP cache, but I don't know. I'm still learning) Consequently, if the sentence above in parenthesis is correct, I am unable to perform WoL from outside my LAN. What am I missing?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a brand new E4200 with two desktop computers using it with no problems. I also have a work Thinkpad laptop that I use a couple of times a week from home. Since day one of installing the new router, I have experienced the blue screen of death numerous times during the day (the number of times varies from 1 to 6 on a really bad day). I believe this is happening when I lose my connection to the router. I can see it trying to reestablish itself but the VPN will drop the connrection before it has a chance. I never lost my VPN connection until the day I installed the new router. Yesterday, at least one time it was unable to reestablish connectivity with the router and I had to reboot the laptop to get it connected. Could this have something to do with the IP address? I do not have any issues with the laptop when I am at work using a docking station.
So, I am wondering why I am constantly losing connectivity on the laptop only. The laptop has Windows XP and I am using AT&T Global Network Client to access the work network. Is there a setting somewhere that will fix this? Our IT folks rebuilt my laptop and I am still experiencing the same problem. I checked and I have the current version of the firmware for the router.
If I connect wire directely to the PC Ethernet port the Internet speed is about 400 Mbit/sec (speedtest.net)When my PC is connected through the Linksys E4200 Internet speed is not above 90 Mbit/sec.

For some reason it disconnects my wireless internet at random times and i know before it never use to do that before with a older router. There is nothing blocking it, it worked before, and my computers can connect except two. The only thing i can guess is my wireless card.
