I was just online when all of a sudden i lost connection. I have a WRT54G V8 and did a quick little browse and found out it could be corrupted firmware. When i download the firmware it wants to download as a .bin file and open VLC Media player!? How do i change this or what do I need to open it with?
V220.127.116.11551 is now available. I did the online upgrade and it took just a couple of minutes including the reboot. The firmware is not available as a download yet for manual install. This firmware is dated 11/14/11 so it doesn't appear to correct the Port 53 issue reported earlier.Release Date: Nov 14, 2011 Firmware version: v2.0.26 (Build 124551) - Support for the WAN L2TP and PPTP protocols
Where can I download the 2.0.36 firmware?I flashed it through the UI but since the factiry fw is crap I want to try the third party firmware that are available but I want to make sure there is a path back to factory version in case I need to return the product.
I was playing with the router/gateway settings on my WRT54G v3.1 router.... and I managed to hose it. I tried power cycling/ resetting it will not route my traffic through anymore...although i can still get to the setup menu.I am trying to download the firmware to flash it but.
A) the site says that for this v3.1 router I need to use the ancient firmware 4.21.1 and
B) the link to the firmware does not work !!! it downloads an empty zip file url...
linksys support, if you are listening, please restore the link to the firmware so I can try and fix my router.
link to the original v1.0.0 firmware for the E4200. That was the best firmware for me and sadly I can't find a link to go back. v1.0.0 really had no problems for me. I initially skipped v1.0.1 becuase it disabled IPv6 which is a feature I want. v1.0.2 broke my YouTube and Netflix streaming. So I went back to v1.0.1 and my Netflix and YouTubue steaming returned to normal but I lost IPv6.
Any solution to Netflix and YouTube streaming problem on v1.0.2 when IPv6 is configured. (I'm positive the video is streaming over IPv4, but the IPv6 connectivity is available.)
The device has been trying for days to auto-download and all it does is fail constantly. Saying that my connection is slow - gee, I have FiOS, I know it's not slow, maybe it's your Servers Cisco?Well, where can I obtain the direct DL link to that firmware file instead of relying on an unreliable device to get it and apply for me?
I have a problem with my WRT54G V8 router.I download a wrong Firmware and upgrade it.After this my router never work again. The PC can't get IP from the router.I tried a lot of time to access to the web admin 192.168.1.1 and other IP and nothing happen.I made a lot of reset cycles, with the procedures 30/30/30 or other with the reset button in combination with the power cord.
Exist any other possibility to recover my router. Can I open and touch other button inside the board or something like this?

I have a WRT54GX2 router and my laptop is connected wirelessly to the router. It worked fine before but now, the connection is only local, it's not connected to the internet. On the router, it says: Default Gateway: 0.0.0.0.I think that it should say 192.168.1.1 instead.I tried dhcp release and renew but it didn't work. The firmware version is 1.01.22.
I have 1 Windows XP PC, and 2 Windows 7 laptops. And I'm also going to connect a new TV to Internet.I have the router WRT54GX2 version 1.sometimes the XP PC has a good internet connection, but on the Windows 7 laptop, I don't have the internet connection. And if I look at the list of the Wireless Network connections, I don't see mine!So can I do something on the router to fix this problem? Or should I buy a new router which can work well with 3 PCs (with Windows 7) and 1 TV connected at the same time?
How to get this unit to hand out the Ip numbers in my network with dhcp but to allso assign these numbers in accordance to the mac address. I want o make sure the same computers get the same internal ip and not random ones?
I have a Linksys WRT54gX2. When I make a wired connection from my modem to my computer (Vista - latest SP) I get a connection to the internet on my computer. When I run a network cord from the modem to the wireless router and then a network cord to the computer, two things happen:I do not get a connection to the internet on my computer. With laptops and iPods that are trying to connect wirelessly, I can see that the wireless signal exists, and the devices can connect to the signal, but no internet connection passes through. There are no firmware updates that I can find for this device, I have powered the router on/off for 30 seconds, and I have used the reset button.
Is there anywhere I can download WAP610N Firmware Version 01.0.00 build 832? I have two units with this firmware version that work OK. I recently purchased another unit that has WAP610N Firmware Versions 1.0.01 and and can only access an IP address if I do not use any security. I also spent a lot of time on the phone with Linksys support to no avail.
I have a wrt54gx2 with srx 200 technology recently purchased. I havetwo cabled computers attached. One at one end of the house attached tothe router by ehternet cable, the other attached about 100 ft by ethernet cable. The wireless does not reach to the other end of the house, most likley because that part of the house is an addition with masonary walls and a large masonary firplace. I bought a wap54g access point at the recommendation from someone at linksys to attach to the end of the ethernet run. Since my set up is macintosh, I can't use the wizard disk that came with the wap54g. Linksys support was not support( not expected), I need to know what to do to get this up and running. I am new to this stuff and Linksys get the wireless router with ethernet installed and up and running with my dsl. I thought the same for the wap54g.
I am trying to download firmware for an RV180W Wireless-N Multifunction VPN Firewall Router. I found updates for a 110 in BIN format (router only updates from IMG). Currently running stock firmware on that router and need the update.

I just bought a v3 TD-W8960N and I'm trying to see what is the latest firmware available? On the modem it came with 1.4.0 Build 111130 Rel.56405n.When I look on the website the listed latest version is w8960nv1_un_1_4_0_111108R40398.up (that is the file inside the zip package/link TD-W8960N_V1_V3_111108)Which is the newer version? The revision number on the firmware that came installed kind of looks like it is actually newer. But if it is newer, why is not available for download from TP-Link?
