trying to stream movies from the USB drive pluged into EA4500 using 3G or remotely. I got Media Server (DLNA) turned on and FTP Server setup. I also setup Dynamic DNS. I can managed to see the media server on iPhoto using WIFI connection with UpnPPeek. I'm wondering if it is possible that any iphone apps like Air Video can be able to stream movie remotely without turn on the computer?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a e4200 v2 and installed connect cloud. I have attached a USB drive to the router. I can connect to it by mapping a network drive on my windows 7 laptop. I can also access it as a media server through my iPad on the local wifi network. This way I can play the music on the USB drive through the iPad. The next thing I would like to accomplish is to be able to listen to the music on the USB drive through the internet (so remotely).

I can access the cameras from my local LAN both when using the local 10. ..and external 99 .. Addresses. When I go off the local connection - Access does not work. Slingbox did its auto configuration and I can access it. I just cant get to camera devices (Panosonic, Foscam, etc.).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI use the Smart Wi-Fi app on my iPad3 (IOS 6.1.3) to access my EA4500 remotely.When I want to add a port forwarding, it shows always 192.168 as start of the ip address related to the ports. But I have a 10.71 network installed and cannot change the 192.168 to 10.71. I suppose this is a bug.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI had a Sony 8gb usb drive plugged in and was working great with my smart tv and computer..... over last weekend i unplugged the drive and had to format it to my xbox moved what i need to and hen i formatted it back to ntfs the router wont recognize the usb drive. during this i also was facing this bad gateway error 502...i downgraded my router and now using the classic but i still get a non recognizable device error.

The problem I'm having now is that when I plug a flashdrive to the USB I don't know how to access it. For some reason when I go to the settings under USB Storage it says "There is no drive in the USB Port". It tells me to click refresh but that doesn't seem to work.
I'm running firmware version 2.1.39.145204
I now have a shared drive shortcut on my desktop from the external drive I have hooked to the EA4500. Is there a way to share this folder to Android phones or Ipads? Looking to backup my phone data to the share (photos)

View 3 Replies View RelatedEA 4500 seems to work fine. Have a Seagate 3 TB HD connecfed to USB. Have LG Smart box connected to EA4500 by Cat5e cable. HD hard drive contents shows and accesses ok on PC via wireless. Smart box showed HD but only media files in "documents" directory, did not show "TV" & "Movies" directories.
Reset Router Media Server Access with "TV" & "Movies" directories - presto LG smarbow showed directories now and worked fine. This morning will no longer show "TV" & "Movies" directories on Smart box. Have tried deleting and resetting Router Media Server Access with "TV" & "Movies" directories several times, no luck.
I have mapped the attached hard drive to my EA4500 on my PC and can access folders and files on my LAN PC. However, when I come in through the Internet via an iOS device, I can see folders but when I try to enter the folder, all I get is a message that displays "|Folder|Enter Into Folder|Select|. There is no click-through capability other than "Return to Upper Folder", which takes me back to folders.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm trying map the USB hard drive connected to my EA4500 router as a network drive in Windows 7, and it works perfectly until I enable secure folder access on the router.
After enabling secure folder access, and not changing any other settings on the router I first unmount the drive since it was set up without credentials and doesn't work that way any more. When I try to remap the drive I use the same address, but select "Connect using different credentials" When it prompts me for the log in info I try using the router admin account, but it fails to connect. Windows network diagnostics tells me the device refused the connection. I proceeded to set up an account on the router under the folder access settings with the same username, and password I use on my computer, and tried to connect it without checking "Connect using different credentials" (And typing them in manually if that matters) with the same results.
Even with secure folder access enabled I can still reach the drive just fine by typing "ftp://192.168.1.1/" into file explorer. It prompts me for a username and password, I put in the admin credentials, and I'm in. Even the account I created with the same username/password as my computer works this way.
After disabling secure folder access everything works perfectly fine again... I would MUCH rather do this with it though.
Following these directions: [URL] When clicking the browse button the router shows up when secure folder access is disabled, but does not after it is enabled. I've looked through my windows sharing settings, and haven't noticed anything that should cause problems, pretty much everything is enabled. I've also tried turning off my firewall with no success.
I have a Windows Home Server 2011 box sitting at home in Washington DC. I have about 1TB worth of stuff on that box. For many reasons, I want to store all my data in a centralized location (that being my WHS box). I then want to access that data through my laptop in London as if the data was in a folder on my computer. I also want to access the data through my mobile phone (android).I just set up filezilla on my WHS box and it works fine if I want to download or upload data. But it won't let me open word files 'off' the server, make changes, and then save it right back. I have to download the word file, make changes, and then reupload that file to the server.

This is for work purposes (specifically for a small business that I design for). Is this doable? I've been using Dropbox but that's proving too problematic as more and more files need to be managed. I would prefer it not be through software that has to be running on a computer, as there is no "machine" running 24/7 here besides the router itself.

Laptop is on 5ghz, running speed at 300. I'm running the E3000 in dual mode (running 2.4ghz and 5ghz at the same time.) I have 2 different network names mjames5gz and mjames24gz.
In my basement, I have a laptop running on 5ghz and an IP camera running 2.4 ghz. the signal in the basement is on the low side for both. Under Wireless network connection, I am getting around 100 on Speed vs.300 on the laptop.... The basement is fully finished so I can't run cables to the basement easily. What could I buy so I can stream videos from laptop to laptop on 5ghz. Would also be nice to have the 2.4ghz signal boosted as well
When I go upstairs, both laptop read 300 ghz and I can stream between them just fine.
I have downloaded netflix on our wii. We have a E1000 Linksys router.
While watching anything on Nextflix, the movie stops every 2 minutes and began loading again.
Got my E4200 a month ago, and have since been experiencing problems with movie streaming between my server and my Popcorn Hour A110. All kinds of movies stutters randomly and becomes unwatchable. Streaming of the same movie from my server to my laptop (connected wirelessly) causes no stuttering.
I have been doing some troubleshooting and determined that it is not the server's fault (it achieves transfer speeds of 60+ MB/s through Samba). I have also ruled out the possibility that the Popcorn Hour is the faulty component.
Lastly, I just tried switching from the E4200 to my old D-Link DIR-655. This has effectively removed the stuttering, leading me to conclude that it is the E4200's fault.
I am going back to college and I will need a router. Both my roommate and I were on the same router went over our bandwidth usage a number of times last year. I've done a bit of research and have come up with a few options: Asus rt-n56u, netgear wndr 4500, and the apple airport extreme. Both my desktop and laptop pc so I'm not sure if that effects the outcome. I am going to need a usb port for an ext hdd, which all of them have. All of the routers have a 5hz signal for better streaming. Would I be able to use the apple airport? It seems the have the best reviews. But I question the compatibility and some of the reviews due to possible fanboyism. Also, If I connect my desktop to the router via a crossover cable and have an ext hdd hooked into the router can I transfer files to the ext hdd and stream that data over a 5 hz signal?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an E3000 with an external hard drive attached via USB with several movies saved on it as ISO's. How to stream a movie to my wireless blu ray player, Sony S580. I was able to stream the iso to a netbook attached to the LCD tv by using VLC on the netbook. The only videos I can access on the blu ray player that are on the external hard drive are home videos I converted to DVD quality before uploading, they're not HD. I can access pictures and music on the blu ray from the external hard drive as well. I tried converting an iso to MVK but was unable to access/find it using the blu ray player.

I have been using handbrake to convert both blu-ray and DVD movies to MP4 videos with AAC audio and I have been getting strange results. If I convert a blu-ray movie to MP4 with a DTS audio track down mixed to Dolby Pro Logic II AAC then I can play the movie and I am able to fast forward and rewind. If I convert the same movie but convert the audio in any other way, AC3 pass through etc., the video will play but I will not be able to fast forward or rewind.
On my WRT610N with firmware version 2.xxxx (latest available at this moment), I have connected a Lacie harddisk (in RAID-1) by the USB port and I have activated the mediaserver. I have connected through a wireless dongle my Samsung TV(UE46B7000) to my mediaserver.
My mediafiles are visible and can be played, however I'm not able to get my subtitles with them. I tried srt, ssa, smi, sub formats but in vain. These subtitles are stored in the same location. If however I copy the same mediafiles and subtitles directly to another external harddisk, which I connect to another USB port on the TV I can watch these mediafiles and my subtitles are also available. So my question: what do you need to do to render your subtitles visible?
I've bought a E3000 as replacement for my Linksys WRT350N router.Just upgraded the firmware to version Ver.1.0. 04 (build 6).I use aonTV - an austria IPTV service (Multicast via UDP) - an this worked with my old WRT350N (hw version 1) consistantly well. I hardly had to reboot the router to get the multicast stream.With E3000 I checked the option that it should not filter any multicast traffic - when I reboot the router it works for some time - but after some hours it does not work anymore? I want to watch TV via my HTPC connected via GigaBit Power to the E3000.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been viewing some videos streamed through the EA6500 from a Qnap 419p II NAS, and several video files are playing back extremely choppy.I can confirm that the video files play fine on the Xbox360 using a USB key and have also previously streamed these videos without any problems using a Belkin Wireless Pre-N router (that I upgraded from) streamed from the same NAS.I've attempted to configure the Media Prioritization feature, but haven't noticed any different results. I have also adjusted other various settings that haven't affected the playback in any way.
My only guess is that some of the files are encoded in a format that the router is struggling with - the video files are not HD videos, and their bitrates are generally quite low - if my old Belkin router can do it, the EA6500 shouldn't have any problems either.
I recently put in a surveillance system with remote access. I have an application on my android phone and it can be viewed by any browser. While I am connected to my network these functions work fine, on my phone and any desktop/laptop. The problem happens when I try to view remotely, off my network. I had this setup on my Netgear router before I got my new fancy schmancy Cicso router becaue the netgear wasn't cutting the cheese in keeping my wireless connectionstory.So here is what I got. I need 3 ports forwarded for this work, and how I got it work on my Netgear. I have these 3 ports forwarded as single ports. I have them forwarded in a range and I have port triggering turned on. No matter what or which combination of these few things I try, I can't access the DVR remotely, again unless I'm local to MY network.Some additional notes - the DVR has a static address and that address has been reserved in the DHCP settings of the router.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAt home I am using the linksys wireless bridge WET610N to stream media to my livingroom. The setup looks like server <-> Linksys E4200 <-> WET610N. If I connect my laptop to the WET610N i get a speed close to 100Mbit/s. With this speed I can easily view HD movies, by playing them on my laptop. So far so good...But if I instead connect my Popcorn Hour A-100 (a media player) , to the WET610N (instead of the laptop) I get really poor performance. just a few Mbit/s, which is not enough.So my question is, why is the following setup working fine:server <-> Linksys E4200 <-> WET610N <-> LaptopWhen at the same time the following setup is working poorly:server <-> Linksys E4200 <-> WET610N <-> Popcorn HourThe WLAN connection between the Linksys E4200 and Linksys WET610N seems to be fine. I want to use the E4200 media server to stream divx and other video files on my Sharp Aquos HDTVs.I have an LC-70LE732U and a LC-52LE832U wired to my network. Both of them seem to discover and successfully connect to my media server however only MP3s and certain MPG files are detected. None of the AVI files show up.I have upgraded my E4200 firmware to 1.0.03 hoping that would fix the problem but it didn't. I don't want to run a Windows based media server as I don't have a computer that I can leave on all the time.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've read the various threads on here and tried all the fixes suggested and I still cannot get my PS3 to "see" the USB drive I've attached to my router.I can see it and access the files from a connected computer, but not the PS3.I've tried creating a share with one directory and sharing the entire partition with no luck. I've enabled all the FTP options with no luck. UPNP is enabled. I've tried setting up the guest account with no luck.I've tried restarting, unplugging with no luck either. I also went into the USB drive and reformatted and started all over again.My PS3 can easily see the other computers on the network, but I would like to use the USB port on the router to not have to have a computer running to stream music.Is there another menu location on the PS3 I should be using to locate the USB? Currently I just look under music or video and the other computers are there. Just not the USB.
