I've got a E3000 router and I'd like to be able to stream movies and access files from the USB connected HD on my router to my galaxy tablet.I understand that this can be done. I've poked around and cannot find anything that's worked for me.
View 6 RepliesDoes anyone use an external hard drive connected to their e4200 router to stream movies over DLNA? If so what format of videos are you using and what program and settings are you using to convert the movies from DVD or blu-ray to video files?
I have been using handbrake to convert both blu-ray and DVD movies to MP4 videos with AAC audio and I have been getting strange results. If I convert a blu-ray movie to MP4 with a DTS audio track down mixed to Dolby Pro Logic II AAC then I can play the movie and I am able to fast forward and rewind. If I convert the same movie but convert the audio in any other way, AC3 pass through etc., the video will play but I will not be able to fast forward or rewind.
I am sharing media from my Linksys E3000 router and would like to use subtitles (in separate files) for movies. It is working when I am using Samsung PC based AllShare server but not while using E3000 UPnP server. On the other hand I found some info on the web that Twonky should support subtitles. But maybe different version then embedded into E3000.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an E3000 with an external hard drive attached via USB with several movies saved on it as ISO's. How to stream a movie to my wireless blu ray player, Sony S580. I was able to stream the iso to a netbook attached to the LCD tv by using VLC on the netbook. The only videos I can access on the blu ray player that are on the external hard drive are home videos I converted to DVD quality before uploading, they're not HD. I can access pictures and music on the blu ray from the external hard drive as well. I tried converting an iso to MVK but was unable to access/find it using the blu ray player.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've bought a E3000 as replacement for my Linksys WRT350N router.Just upgraded the firmware to version Ver.1.0. 04 (build 6).I use aonTV - an austria IPTV service (Multicast via UDP) - an this worked with my old WRT350N (hw version 1) consistantly well. I hardly had to reboot the router to get the multicast stream.With E3000 I checked the option that it should not filter any multicast traffic - when I reboot the router it works for some time - but after some hours it does not work anymore? I want to watch TV via my HTPC connected via GigaBit Power to the E3000.

I have Windows 8 installed on my computer at home.
I have a 655 and two TVs. One is connected to my network by a Samsung 5700 Blu Ray player, and the other is connected by x box. The x box is 20 ft away from my router and the Blue Ray is about 60 away with one wall between. The x box pulls movies down and plays them no problem, and Blue Ray takes about a minute for loading the moving, will start playing but them pauses several times throughtout the movie showing the loading sign on screen.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet and have bee trying to connect to my WRVS4400N router with VPN through the "on board" software as well as with the Any Connect software from Cisco. I have no issues at the moment using Quick VPN from my laptop.
When using the Any Connect software I receive the following messages:
Security warning: untrusted certificate
AnyConnect cannot verify the identity of <IP address>. Would you like to continue anyway?
- Certificate does not match the server name.
- Certificate is from an untrusted source.
- Certificate is not identified for this purpose
[Accept] [Details] [Cancel]
If I select accept, the following error is received:
"Error: Connection attempt has failed due to server communication errors. Please retry the connection".
I have tried setting up the on board VPN with the Samsug Galaxy but every attempt has resulted in a time-out of the connection.

When we stream movies in two different rooms at the same time we drop our netflix or vudu connections. Can I enable or disable any settings on my router that would work. I love this router have 35 Mbps on internet speed so I don't think that is the problem. Range runs from 35 up to 45 Mbps all the time. I know how to access my router settings and navigate where to go and what to change if I can. I have 3 laptops, 1 wireless printer, two blue-ray devices attached.

The TV sees the media on the device and music plays fine. However, every movie I've tried shows up with an exclamation point and when I try to play it I get a message to the effect that "unable to open media". Is the EA4500 media server only compatible with certain movies?
When I try to connect the galaxy to the wireless network, the tablet shuts down (to the start page, unlock page) when it is searching for the ip address for the network. The firmware is 1.55.02. Cannot get upgrade as not available from Cisco. Have disconnected all other devices from the network in case there is some interference problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOn my WRT610N with firmware version 2.xxxx (latest available at this moment), I have connected a Lacie harddisk (in RAID-1) by the USB port and I have activated the mediaserver. I have connected through a wireless dongle my Samsung TV(UE46B7000) to my mediaserver.
My mediafiles are visible and can be played, however I'm not able to get my subtitles with them. I tried srt, ssa, smi, sub formats but in vain. These subtitles are stored in the same location. If however I copy the same mediafiles and subtitles directly to another external harddisk, which I connect to another USB port on the TV I can watch these mediafiles and my subtitles are also available. So my question: what do you need to do to render your subtitles visible?
I have a wrt54gs linsys router with speedbooster. I bought my son a tablet for xmas. I cannot connect the tablet to the network. It finds my network, searches for an IP address, and then disconnects. It will connect for about 2 seconds, and then shows disconnected. My PC's, and WII work fine, although getting the WII ad netflix to reconnect after a power outage is like rocket science requiring field support every time. My tablet wont stay connected, and the book tells me that the router must accept 802.11b/g, and that if it has 802.11n, then it needs to be reconfigured to accept 802.11b/g.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been viewing some videos streamed through the EA6500 from a Qnap 419p II NAS, and several video files are playing back extremely choppy.I can confirm that the video files play fine on the Xbox360 using a USB key and have also previously streamed these videos without any problems using a Belkin Wireless Pre-N router (that I upgraded from) streamed from the same NAS.I've attempted to configure the Media Prioritization feature, but haven't noticed any different results. I have also adjusted other various settings that haven't affected the playback in any way.
My only guess is that some of the files are encoded in a format that the router is struggling with - the video files are not HD videos, and their bitrates are generally quite low - if my old Belkin router can do it, the EA6500 shouldn't have any problems either.
At home I am using the linksys wireless bridge WET610N to stream media to my livingroom. The setup looks like server <-> Linksys E4200 <-> WET610N. If I connect my laptop to the WET610N i get a speed close to 100Mbit/s. With this speed I can easily view HD movies, by playing them on my laptop. So far so good...But if I instead connect my Popcorn Hour A-100 (a media player) , to the WET610N (instead of the laptop) I get really poor performance. just a few Mbit/s, which is not enough.So my question is, why is the following setup working fine:server <-> Linksys E4200 <-> WET610N <-> LaptopWhen at the same time the following setup is working poorly:server <-> Linksys E4200 <-> WET610N <-> Popcorn HourThe WLAN connection between the Linksys E4200 and Linksys WET610N seems to be fine. The problem I am having seems to be the Ethernet connection/setup between the WET610N and the Popcorn Hour media player.

Both of them seem to discover and successfully connect to my media server however only MP3s and certain MPG files are detected. I recently bought a Cisco e3000 router. I updated the firmware but I am still only getting 1.33 Mbps at most. The only things plugged into it is my PC and my xbox. I bought the router so i could get a better connection on my xbox so netflix wont stop playback.

I can get an address on the computer and an old router by directly connecting the cable to the computer or the router. I can also daisy-chain the e3000 to the old router, and I can get an address on the e3000 from the old router. I have hard reset the e3000, changed firmware from the Linksys to TomatoUSB and back to Linksys, and I still can't get it to work. It worked fine on Saturday until a bolt of lightning hit close to the house. Since then, I cannot get the e3000 to connect to the ISP.
