View 1 RepliesI'm thinking of switching to another ISP which is faster and cheaper than who I'm currently with. Only problem is they have data caps. Any way to log inbound/outbound traffic usage with this router so that I can make sure I'm not going to hit monthly limits?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWe've had problems with our internet router losing connection to the internet. All traffic stops, a reboot resolves the problem. The router only has a public IP and it's connect through a dummy switch to the ASA as shown. I want to be able to monitor netflow or something and wondered if I could add a static route to the 10.x.x.x network and then add the netflow commands. Here is kind of how it looks, I simplified it some by removing unnecessary devices
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a questions about protecting my network. My parent's have rented out my room, since I'm going to college, and I was wondering if there was a way to monitor the traffic that is going on in my network. Once the guy moved in, the wireless connection speed drastically decreased. I was barely able to sure the internet on my laptop. I currently have about 8 devices connected to my network. I am running a wired connection for my desktop so I don't feel any lag, but everything else runs on wifi.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe currently have a 3/3 Etherloop. We dont have any internal IT as we are still small and while not a networking guy I can at least understand what is going on. Right now at peaks we are hitting 100% utilization.
We run a call center in house so I am trying to determine at the very least how much of this traffic is from voice data compared to everything else. Was running through our networking configuration and it just seems off to me. The following is the flow.
-Etherloop Demarcation >
-Cisco Integrated Access Device >
-D-Link DIR 655 Wireless Router >
-24port HP Procurve switch >
-24port HP Procruve switch >
Everything up to the first switch is a single line. The first switch has all ports running out except 1 which goes to the second switch. The second switch runs out to machines as well.
I am at the networking level where I understand a switch but have no idea what the IAD really does between the etherloop modem and the wireless router.
For some reason I feel like the router should not be setup in that manner and should be off of the switch. With the cisco IAD running directly to the first switch. So my 2 big questions are.
1. Does this setup even make sense.
2. Whats the easiest way to monitor traffic, at the very least it would be nice to see real time up/down and be able to log in. Then I guess using ports figure out what is being used by voice. My first guess was just putting a machine between the IAD and first switch and monitor and log the traffic.
I have a requirement to monitor all traffic going from the internal LAN to the cloud. The LAN is a layer 2 VLAN which spans multiple Cisco 4507 switched and other smaller switches.
The VLAN has an IP address which the hosts use as the default gateway.
The exit port is on a Cisco 3600X switch connecrted to 4507 #1 via a 10G fiber link. 4507 #1 connects the rest of the LAN. Those switches interconnect via 10G fiber and 1G copper links.
Currently the monitor host is connected to a 1G copper port, configured as a monitor port, on one of the backside 4507s The switch manager says he has the switches configured so that I can see all traffic on the VLAN.
We have an SG300 managed switch located in a small business of less than 10 PCs. There has been an ongoing issue with Internet speed. Is there any way that I can monitor the router for traffic so that I can see what might be causing the problem? I would like to focus on the WAN port and Internet activity particularly.

There are four of us in the family all using the internet but I suspect one of us is using considerably more than the other. I live in the country and my current isp has us on the max available account - 50 gigs / month. Lately we have been hitting 45 in less than 3 weeks into the month. I would like to know which of the things connected or which person is using the most of the bandwidth up. Is there a program that doesn't require a phd in quantum physics and networking that can monitor this for me and spit out a report.

We just recently purchased a 3945 ISR G2 router and have a SRE-910 module (with two hard drives) configured in a Raid 1. We are running a stand-alone version of ESXi on the service module and I'm trying to figure out how to monitor the status of the Raid on the drives (along with other health issues). SNMP has revealed nothing so far and even opening a support case for which MIB's to use has proved fruitless. All the documents I find on monitoring the modules say to use LMS which is now Cisco Prime. I've downloaded the trial copy, put in the SNMP settings and scanned the router. I get device results and it shows that I have the SRE-910 module installed, but I get no other configuration / device informaiton from the module itself.
I tried to create a new Monitoring template using the NAM health as the base template (which I'm assuming this is the correct template). Unfortunately, when I actually try to deploy the template against the discovered router, I get an 'Unexpected end of list' error which makes me assume I'm still doing something wrong.
, I have a requirement by a customer that they will want to monitor the guest wireless access. Currently, we are proposing a Cisco Wireless Controller 5508 together with APs and the setup would be a dedicated VLAN for guest. I am wondering if Cisco ISE together with Cisco MSE would be sufficient?
Stuff to monitor and log are:
1. Guest username (I guess this would be self sponsored)
2. Company name
3. Websites accessed
4. Time, date and duration.
5. Logs are to be kept for 3 months at least.
i have more then 25 Cisco WAP4410N AP put is our office. i put 4 AP in each floor.we are using signal SSID for all AP. I have two question
1: want to monitor all AP if any is down we can trouble shoot it .
2: with some user have problem before connecting it show full signal but after connecting signal is drop.some time

As a Admin i want to monitor what is going on.
I would like to set up a monitoring/site blocking system where I work (owners request) to black sites like Facebook, YouTube, etc. Are there any decent, basic freeware ones out there?

Since i configured i can access from wireless PCs to servers and PCs in the wired subnet but cannot access from wired computers from to wireless PCs. I suppouse it is because traffic is restricted from Wan to Lan.

I have an extra router that might be able to serve as an wireless access point, but from what I've been told that wouldn't solve anything if the problem was that the first router doesn't have the capacity for that much traffic. It's a 50+ dollar wireless N router though and fairly new (forgot the model number)

I can connect to the router and my S2 shows and says my WIFI-connection is OK. But still I can't get any Internet-traffic to my S2.The wireless router is working OK for my old IPhone and MacBook Pro, but not for my S2. I have tried the S2 on other wireless access points, and it is working fine.I have tried a lot of different wireless settings, but nothing seems to fix the problem. From my S2 I can ping the IP-addresses of the router, all DNS, gateway and IP-address of the router. I can also ping the phones IP-address from my router. But I can't ping anything "outside" the router. Here are some data:

I've got an IPTV network with Bell FibeTV with Motorola VIP1216 (the DVR master) and VIP1200 (slave) cable boxes. All the coax cables in my walls form a wired ethernet network instead of a cable TV network. To get better wireless coverage in my home, I've set up routers as wireless access points at each of the cable boxes. Essentially I've plugged the router into the ethernet bridge of the cable boxes, and disabled DHCP and gave it a static IP and did all things I needed to do to disable all the routing capabilities and make it into a switch (here's what I did, step by step: [url...]). So when I go from one room to another, I just select a new wireless access point to get maximum signal strength and speed.

My home web hosting used to work. But because of changing ISP from Verizon to TWC, TWC gave me a modem-router and I bought my own Linksys E2500 router. Both Verizon and TWC services I subscribed are Dynamic IP. I use a third party to redirect the web traffic to my home.TWC gave me a simple modem-router in a box. Input is coax and outputs are 4 ethernet ports. I use one of the 4 ethernet outputs of the TWC box to connect to the internet ethernet input port of the E2500. All my wire and wireless devices are now feeding off the E2500. All wireless and wired devices work and can browse internet through the E2500.I have assigned one computer as the web server and set the internal IP addess of this computer as 192.168.1.128. This is the same for the setup with Verizon before.I loaded the CD came with the E2500 router and can see the LAN 192.168.1.128.My problem starts from here, I do not know how to set the port in E2500 to make the web traffic to 192.168.1.1281. Using the E2500 CD, I click to "APPLICATION AND GAMING", then "SINGLE PORT FORWARDING". under the APPLICATION NAME, I select one of the box to HTTP and type in 128 under "TO IP ADDRESS". I then click ENABLED, then "save settings" . The 192.168.1 is fixed in this window, I can only type 128.This does not work. I can browse internet but cannot access my website from any machines using domain name. Then I tried:2. with item 1 above, I continued to do SETUP>>BASIC SETUP>>DHCP RESEVERSATION. I can see the compute/sever name and the 192.168.1.128. I then click the "select" and save the client.I restarted the computer/server, I unplug and plug the E2500 power. I check the server internal IP address and it is still the same. But I just cannot browse to my website. I can browse other places.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy E4200 is rebooting every time it sees traffic on any port, including the internet port. It does not reboot itself if there is nothing plugged in.
Already tried: soft reset (power off for 30 seconds), soft reboot via back panel button, hard reset (press reset for 30, unplug and hold reset for 30, plug in while holding reset for 30).
I have recently purchased a E4200 i have flashed it with the latest Firmware 1.0.03 and Hard Reset the Router so the Media issue was resolved i was having. After upgrading the firmware to the latest version my Nortel VPN IPSEC Client no longer will work. The tunnel is connected and it passes traffic for about 15 seconds then nothing. The connection remains connected but no traffic passes cant ping across tunnel. I have checked all the settings and VPN - IPSEC - Passthru is enabled. I have put the client in DMZ mode and tried that same thing.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI posted my complaint on Amazon.com recently. My E4200 router stopped allowing traffic through ports completely. I was able to unplug the power and allow the router to cool, and the router would work for a while then stop after about 10 minutes. I assume that the unit was overheating, but I do not have the equipment of a test facility.I bought a Belkin AC 1200 router which is a bit of an upgrade from Amazon.com. I do not think that there is anything that Linksys can do for me as my warranty expired. I just thought that when I spent what was to me a lot of money the router should have lasted longer.
