Port Security - Port Is shut down
Err-Disable - Port goes into err-disable state (securedown)
HSRP - When HSRP standyby changes are detected
I need to receive emails with any of the able are triggered. What is the easiest way to do this? I know SNMP is the main option but I have never worked with SNMP and dont understand it too much.

I am trying to find out what the 'normal' operating temperature of the CPU in a 3945 router is? We have just replaced some 2800 routers for 3945's and the NMS server initially complained about the new router CPU temperature being too high. Compared to the 2800 the CPU temperature is much hotter - 50 degrees celcius as opposed to 20-smothing degrees. I have searched but can't find what are considered 'normal'?
This is the output:
router#sho environment allSYSTEM POWER SUPPLY STATUS==========================Internal Power Supply 1 Type: DCInternal Power Supply 1 12V Output Status: Normal
[Code].....
We have a Cisco 2801 router running IOS "c2801-spservicesk9-mz.151-4.M4.bin" which we upgraded from previous “c2801-spservicesk9-mz.124-3d.bin”.
Requirement.
We want to monitor the device temperature via snmp but unable to do because temperature ratings are not available on "show environment all" output like below.
Routeri# sh environment all Fan 1 OK Fan 2 OK ILP Power Supply - Absent Fan Speed Setting: Normal
Where as on Cisco 2811/51 & Cisco 3825/45 we can get temperature ratings on "show env all" output.
As per link [URL] below commands are supported on Cisco 2800 series router.
Command options
• show environment all
• show environment fans
• show environment leds
• show environment power-supply
• show environment table
• show environment temperatures
• show environment voltages
I want to know whether this is Cisco 2801 platform limitations or something else. tried to find Cisco doc on this but no luck.
I cant remember where I read it but when I noticed that my HDD was running hot even when it was meant to be idle, I read that the router causes the storage device to run at full spin regardless.
I was wondering, do we know if that issue is fixed with this latest firmware update (June 14th)? I've had it on for about 10minutes but I'm not sure how long it takes to get to the temp that it was running at before.
Yesterday I installed my new E3000 router. After an hour I noticed that de temperature of the bottom was very high and it stil is . Is that normal?

The router only has a public IP and it's connect through a dummy switch to the ASA as shown. What we purchased is a unit with model no. of HT-IP206, according to its advertisement it has a storage temperature as low as minus 10 degree, and adversely high up to 60degree. While on the other hand, it states that the operating temperature shall be strictly between zero and 55degree. What Im concerned is that what if temperature drops down to minus when a camera is fully operating? Shall extra heating system be needed while the real temperature fails to meet the above-said requirement?

We have a internal DNS server and an internal WEB server. In the DNS server there are records pointing to sites on the WEB server, this is working just fine.
The thing is when i use a public DNS such as 8.8.8.8 (googles public DNS) i cannot resolv the external IP of those sites. I do not want to access the sites and i do not want to send any packets to the sites. All i want is to query the public DNS and resolv the public IP where the site is.

We are having problems configuring NAT on our Cisco 1921 Router. Below is the running config. The problem we're having is for example our FTP server 192.168.1.16, cannot be accessed from its outside IP address, which is NATed on the router. The server is verified to be up and running and when we do a show debug ip nat, we see the router is translating outside users attempting to access the ftp server to it's correct internal IP address.
