In the past everything was working fine (had same computer connected wireless + wire) never had this disconnection. Now, I have a laptop connected using wireless & desktop wired but this disconnection is becoming so irritating. It is not only that I lose the internet connection, I lose the DSL like (as if the modem is turned off then on) and all my files over the LAN are either lost during transmission or something else.

I had Purchased a brand new TP-Link WifI Modem Router TD-W8961ND with S/N : 12CB5200872 from [URL] and it got delivered few days back. When I am trying to connect it to the internet the modem is not getting connected nor configured. The Power button light, ADSL Light and internet light are continuously blinking and nothing is getting steady. The modem is appearing to be a damaged piece of modem and it is very unfortunate that we have got a modem from flipkart in an unserviceable condition. It came with a warranty of 03 years and I wanted a replacement so that I can use the modem for connecting internet.
Netgear N150 DGN1000 Not Finding Internet Connection?
Mar 22, 2012I have just picked up an ADSL Netgear N150 DGN1000 router as my old router (just some branded old thing from my ISP has started playing up a bit due to age more than anything else) but for some reason it is not seeing my internet connection at all.I've reset it factory default twice and connect to it wirelessly just fine, including accessing the router's setup pages and whatnot. I was going to update the firmware from in there.. but that needs the connection to the internet as well.
My ISP is BE Unlimited (UK ISP) and their old branded modem connects again immediately when I plug that back in so I know it's nothing to do with any of the cables or filters, etc.One thing I have noticed is that on the box for the new router it does say Orange Retail (another UK ISP) on one of the barcodes but the router itself isn't branded, so I don't see this could be a problem but figured it was woth mentioning.

May 14, 2011Im having a horrible problem with my internet connection where I cannot use any kind of download site such as filefront or anything really.The main problem is once a download gets going (any filesize above 1MB) the connection will stall out and stop downloading until the server says cannot download or if available, i pause and start the download again. Its very frustrating having to babysit downloads or be unable to even complete one ,My router is a netgear N150 WNR 1000.

Jan 15, 2012last Monday night, out internet just stopped working completely. We had an older Livebox (Inventel) and after phoning tech support, we were told it was a problem with the router. The problem was with the "@" symbol flashing about once a second. Anyway, they sent over a new router. This was the netgear1000. We set it up and the Internet light stayed red - all the other lights that are meant to be green are green.. We checked the details against what was on the personal detail card they sent over with the router and all of that was correct. It even shows the upload and download speed even though we cannot connect to the internet. When I check the status, it states that the LCP is ready to come up or something along those lines and that the CHAP authentication failed. I phoned them up again and they couldn't solve the problem so it's being moved up to a different department apparently. Anyway, I don't get how it can be an error with the username and password if my old router just stopped working with nothing being changed. The phone line is fine and the tech guy even changed our password.

Jan 31, 2013I have a netgear MR814 router that is not connecting to the internet. A few days ago my wireless was SO slow that I disconnected and did a powercycle (which usually works when wireless drops off now and then) but then it did not connect to the modem anymore. The ports 1, 4, wireless, and power lights are on but the internet light is off. I know it's not a modem problem because I can hardwire the modem to my laptop and get on internet. I've tried a few things suggested on this forum and elsewhere (maybe I shouldn't have messed with it?) but nothing has worked to resolve the problem. When I am connected to the router I cannot access the routerlogin and the ipconfig/release/renew shows that wireless lan media is disconnected.

Oct 16, 2011I have recently wiped my hdd and installed WinXp, I use to have vista but a crash occurred. I have WinXP SP3 with a Belkin Connect N150 connected to a Arris Telephony modem from Comcast. My setup use to work on vista. I've ran belkin setup from the disc multiple times and it gets to the part where it says connect and make sure cables are connected. All cables are connected, but my router has a solid amber light. I can access arris through wired internet, but I really want my wireless to work.

N150 - DVR Not Recognized Through Netgear Router

A program called VideoViewer is installed on the computer which works with the DVR to view images on the computer via ethernet.
Funny thing is that it works with a Zoom router, but not the Netgear There must be settings on the Netgear that needs changing

I am replacing my qwest/centurylink actiontec q1000 with the td-w8960n. I have run all the different setups, with the different settings that I have found on the net but to no avail. The one thing I have noticed is that the light for the asdl on the td-w8960n does not come on, but yet when I plug it back into the actiontec it sees it and the internet works. Any reason why the td-w8960n is not recognizing the active dsl line?

Nov 12, 2011My wife has a COBY 10" netbook running Windows X home SP3., we use a NETGEAR N150 Wireless Router and for some time now, whether she boots from a cold startup or "wakes" this laptop, it has lost the network connection. It gets the "Wireless networks detected" message, sees our Security-enabled wireless network, but instead of automatically connecting, it always asks for the network key. I have a second laptop (Toshiba Qosmio) that I only use some othe time, primarily for vacations, and when I turn this on it always connects right to the network, even if we've been away and connected to a hotel network. I never have to use the key for our home network once I get back home.
She's getting pretty fed up having to constantly put in the network key on the COBY, this should be a "set it once" and it should remember it should it not? I'm sure it used to, have I missed something?

Dec 19, 2011basically we got sent this new router from Orange (our ISP) and we have had problems with it for the last week. The router model is the Netgear N150 DGN1000. Sometimes I connect it will be absolutely fine, but then the next time I log onto my laptop it can't identify the network, it says connected but doesn't have the globe in the bottom right hand corner of my screen. Then we have to reset the router a few times everytime until it recognises it, even though the settings are saved when we connected last time. It is the same with my sisters laptop. We both have Atheros network adapters so that may be a compatability issue with the router, but my brother connects fine on his everytime. A similar problem occurs with modern warfare 3 on my ps3, it won't let me sign in to playstation network half the time and keeps saying NAT type failed, even though NAT is enabled on my router. get this problem sorted and to get a consistent network connection that connects every time that would be great. We changed the security type to WEP on it a few days ago from WPA and that meant we could sign into modern warfare 3 some of the time rather than never, but we are still having issues.
