Protocols / Routing :: Using Port 1 - 80 For All Outgoing Traffic Possible With Application?
Oct 9, 2012
I want to be able to use port 1-80 for all outgoing traffic. I have a VPS outside my home, which can redirect the packets to the prober ports. Is it possible with an application on the computer and VPS? Or is it impossible?

I am trying to limit the incoming and outgoing traffic on a l2 port to 8mbps for a ip subnet within the nexus 7000. The port is connected to my ISP router which has a bandwidth of 20mbps.Policing won't work on a l2 Port and shaping cannot be applied on a port level. url...I have been reading thru the qos guide for nexus release v6 and have problems understanding the different queues.

I have a licensing server. Other computers need to turn on a program, they send a message to the licensing server, and it responds that they have permission to run.Until today the licensing server was plugged into its own ethernet wall socket and configured with a static IP address. Today I put a router into that wall socket and now the server's plugged into the router. The router (WRT-54G) was set to the static IP - and now the internet on its network works. I set all ports to be forwarded to the server's internal IP address - and now my programs can detect and ping it. But now the server won't send back permissions to use licensed software, or even reply with a list of the software which it can license.

cisco 2651XM router with WIC1 adsl card and NM-16ESW switch
IOS: c2600-ipbasek9-mz.124-23.bin
I use the following config to export traffic from the adsl card to a fasterthernet port so I can look at the adsl traffic in wireshark on a pc:router(config)#ip traffic-export profile my_rite router(conf-rite)#int FastEthernet 0/0 router(conf-rite)#bidirectional router(conf-rite)#mac-address abcd.efgh.ijkl (mac address of PC) router(conf-rite)#exit router(config)#int dialer0 router(config-if)#ip traffic-export apply my_rite this config works and I can see stuff going on in wireshark but it's only one way. This config only shows traffic going out from my adsl card, but no incoming. There is defintely traffic going both ways because everything about my adsl connection is working perfectly. I've tried using a different fastethernet port, even tried exporting to a different pc but all I see is outgoing ie: source is my public ip address but never as destination . I have bidirectional in the config but it still only shows outgoing. I even tried a different IOS (c2600-adventerprisek9-mz.124-15.T8.bin) but still it doesn't show incoming traffic. Could it be my ISP in some way hiding incoming traffic from view?

we've buyed a WRVS4400N to create a IPSEC VPN tunnel to our client in order to access some applications.
After a while trying to configure the router, we have archieved it and the VPN tunnel is up. We can see the tunnel up from here and from client's side as well.
Our client supposendly have created the tunnel in order to access a list of specific IPs in the range 10.113.x.x, but if we try to access this IPs via telnet whe cannot obtain any response.
Making a tracert, we obtain...
C:UsersHuexxx>tracert 10.113.56.177
Traza a 10.113.56.177 sobre caminos de 30 saltos como máximo.
1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms 192.168.0.1
2 * * * Tiempo de espera agotado para esta solicitud.
3 * * ^C
... and therefor the client doesn't receive any packet at its firewall.
I've tried to establish a static route for 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 to their remote gateway, but I'm unable to add any entry to static routing list... The router tries to do something, but afterall I cannot see the new entry...
What can I do to route the traffic through the tunnel?

I cannot get my server to send outgoing traffic through my network. I.e. If i try to connect to any of my services i get a very weak connection. Now, i can still CONNECT, i just don't get any data flow. I cant even PING the server internally, it just times out. Now, regardless of whether i use my internal IP/external domain, i get the same issue. I logged onto my computer and tried a speed test the download was normal (around ~20mbit) but the upload times out.
Here is the fun part, if i connect to the server using a switch, everything works fine! Is it my router or some stupid configuration issue? Router is a WRV54G (I hate this thing). Server is running windows 2008 and has a virtual machine.

I have two computers. Computer A is connected to the internet through GSM network. Computer A also have NIC adapter which is connected to local network with IP 192.168.33.10/24.
Computer B in connected to internet with DSL connection.
On both machines I use TeamViewer to make VPN secure tunnel between this two computers. Computer A gets IP:7.200.100.2 Computer B gets IP:7.200.100.3
How can I access from computer B to specific device with IP 192.168.33.250 which is on local network of computer A?
Is it possible to route traffic from VPN to other local network, or it is some possibility to use port forwarding from VPN connection to specific IP address on the local network to specific port number?

For ASA v8.3 and above we don't need to use nat-controll, traffic from high security interface can go to low security interface without matching NAT statements. So does the ASA automatically NAT s the outgoing traffic to the outside interface by default?
For example
ASA inside int---10.1.1.1
outside int---120.11.1.1
when the inside hosts try to go out they will be NATed to 120.11.1.1 by default on version 8.3 and later.is that right?

I am trying to port forward for Vuze and I am having a problem understanding the concepts at [URL] for working within two routers. I have a Zoom 5241 cable modem connected through a Motorola VT2442-VD for Vonage VOIP, then connected through my Netgear RangeMax WPN824v3 wireless router, to my computer. I am also running AVG internet security. Here is a look at my ipconfig /all:
C:Users
ex>ipconfig /all
Windows IP Configuration
Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : MarekFamily
Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . :
Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Hybrid
IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No
[code]....
However, I do not understand where to setup the static ips and where to drop DHCP to be able to port forward successfully. I have tried in Vuze to set up acceptable ports 51600 for TCP and UDP, but they continue to get this error: "NAT Error - Connect attempt to 67.60.124.173:51600 (your computer) timed out after 20 seconds. This means your port is probably closed." I do know that the Ip present is from my Vonage with my external IP address. I even tried to establish rules for TCP and UDP within AVG Firewall settings for the Vuze program.

I've been having trouble signing into the PSN and Sony have given me some TCP and UDP ports to enter, I presume they're the ports for PSN.
TCP Ports: 80, 443, 5223, and 10070 - 10080
UDP Ports: 3478, 3479, 3658, and 10070,
When you want to open new ports on the BT HomeHub you have to fill out this form, and I don't know whereabouts I enter these ports I've been given.

TCP: 80, 443, 2099, 5222, 5223, 8393-8400
UDP: 5000:5500
I did forward them in my router and checked them with PFPortChecker, every port seems to open except 2099, I don't understand why.Note that I disabled Windows Firewall, Router's Firewall, and I'm using Kaspersky Internet Security which I disable while checking ports/logging to game

How can I configure the Ethernet interface, if I don't see it on the configuration. From the CLI command I issue the command show ip int brief. But It only shows the 2 serials but no E0 interface.
PS. I do have an Ethernet Transceiver connected to the AUI port on the router with a straight through cable going into a 2950 switch.

So I am working on a website with MySQL/PHP that I have been developing on my Linux box. I wanted to show a friend my progress so I temporarily opened up port 80. So he was able to just type in my public IP and it brought him to my localhost index.
My question is, when I type in my IP address in the URL bar, does the web browser automatically just assume port 80? What happens if I want to have 2 different servers from the same local network and one is running through port 80 and the other is running through port 90? In this case, would I have to type ":90" to access the machine running on port 90?

It was all working beautifully until I had to switch to this modem from my previous. Now, when I go to canyouseeme.org, it can't see that 4040 and 8080 are open. They need to be for subsonic to work? I've tried to set it up as portforwarding

I've recently set up a PC-based IP PBX in our small business which uses a SIP Trunk for up to 3 simultaneous voice calls. Ports needed to operate include 5060 (SIP-UDP) and then a huge range of high-number UDP ports which I believe is for the 'media' or audio. Let's call the range UDP 49,152 to 64,512. I only know a little about the SIP protocol but my understanding is that each call will randomly use a few ports from this range across which will pass audio, Is there a need to have such a wide range of ports open? If my SIP trunk is only capable of 3 simultaneous calls then it seems only 9 or so of those open ports could get used at once. Could I not just open, say a range of 100 ports and be fine, thereby reducing the security risk?

At first I tried to port forward 25565 on my D-Link Router account, but that didn't work for anyone trying to connect through the External IP.
People can connect locally over my network and I can connect to the game via localhost, but like I said, no friends from abroad.
I've checked my External IP and that doesn't work, I've tried resetting my router to factory default and then reinstalling the firmware for the model, that didn't work. I tried removing the firewall altogether, and also just allowing 25565, but that didn't work. I also got my friend to take their firewall off as well.
(Also, it should be known, when I'm port forwarding I'm allowing access, and have 25565 set in both TCP and UDP. I tested to see if the port was open on Open Port Check Tool, but it said it was closed (connection timed out) even though I had it forwarded)

Unfortunately we are stuck with a bt homehub 2.0. We all hate this thing with a passion. We cant workout how to open the same port on 2 devices. When we try it says theres a conflict and just refuses to let us do it. So only one of us can play the game we want, without it timing out. Now I've tried the BT forums, there was no support there. I phoned up BT and to my absolute disgust, nobody there knew how to use the homehub, or simply said 'turn off the firewall'.

Router Model: TP-Link TD-W8970 port forwarding my modem/router. I previously was able to successfully port forward a Valve Source Server and had other people join on the internet so...(It worked) I recently reformatted and since have had issues.
I'm currently setup with PPPOA and I've added various ports for different programs (a Teamspeak 3 Server[9987] and Minecraft[25565]) either dont work. I used a port checker program and they either say the port is closed or the connection is refused...I've tried using a static IP but I think i configured it wrong becuase i was barely able to get the internet while using it, either way..the ports didn't open.
DCHP is disabled (Tried enabling, didn't work) The above ports are enabled with Windows firewall (inbound+outbound) and Im not using any Anti-virus software to block the ports. Windows 7 64bit, fresh format and ports that wont go through.

I'm fairly new to Cisco products am in the process of developing my network knowledge on a deeper level. I have a 3825 with a HWIC-4ESW and I'm struggling to fully understand how the two "see" each other. I've setup a V LAN with a layer 3 address on the HWIC and added the switch ports to it. This seemed to allow devices connected to the switch ports to talk to the built-in router ports. I thought this was all making sense until i applied an access-list to the router port. It's a simple ACL i'm just using for testing and the only thing it does is blocks telnet from anywhere. I know the ACL is setup properly because if I connect a device directly to the router port i cannot telnet to the port. However, if i connect a device to one of the switch ports, i am able to telnet to the router port successfully.
It seems that I'm missing something with how traffic flows from the switch port to the router ports and how the two "see" each other.

I have set up port forwarding for my WD Network HDD, which runs a Media Server (Twonky). Now, I have tested the ports and accessed it through the internet and it works fine, until... I click a link to open a folder and suddenly I get a "No such page" error thing. I have however identified this problem, it seems that when I go off the main page it re-routes to the original network address, not my IP forward address. For Example if my IP was 82.9.12.456 and the port was 800 i would go to "82.9.12.456:800" and it would load but once I navigate i go to "192.168.0.*:800/*****" and does not load the page. If i then copy and past my IP into the URL it works, but this is annoying.

is it possible to block outgonig multicast L2 frames on an Ethernet port in outgoing direction on a 2960 Switch?
I tried the "switchport block multicast" command, but the description of this feature relates to only "unknown" multicast!?
But what means "unknown multicast"? Even if activated, I see a lot of multicast traffic going out that port: IGMP, PIM, SSDP, HSRP, OSPF, .. and also pings and VLC streams to multicastaddresses (ip igmp snooping disabled).
I also tried to map a "mac access-list" to that port, but the "mac access-group" interface command is restricted to only incoming traffic.
Reason: we assume, that there are a couple of specific enddevices, that might react strange to some multicast. Therefor we would like to block outgoing multicast on that specific ports.
I tested it on a 2960 12.2(53)SE2
