Protocols / Routing :: AUI Ethernet Port On Cisco 2501?
Apr 17, 2012
I am trying to setup my lab so I purchased 3 cisco 2501 to study for my CCNA, my question is? I have 2 serial interfaces and 1 AUI for ethernet on each router. How can I configure the Ethernet interface, if I don't see it on the configuration. From the CLI command I issue the command show ip int brief. But It only shows the 2 serials but no E0 interface.
PS. I do have an Ethernet Transceiver connected to the AUI port on the router with a straight through cable going into a 2950 switch.
I am quite a bit rusty from my days of networking. I am trying to setup my lab so I purchased 3 cisco 2501 to study for my CCNA, my question is? I have 2 serial interfaces and 1 AUI for ethernet on each router. How can I configure the Ethernet interface, if I don't see it on the configuration. I recently bought a tenda w548d Version 2.0 Adsl2+ Modem router. it worked fine with its default settings and wired connection was ok when i chose DSL uplink while installing its driver from CD. But it couldn't connect wireless. There were strong signals but connected computer couldn't get access to the internet. so i tried using ethernet uplink instead of DSL uplink while reinstalling the software Since then the light of ADSL never lights, even it never blinks. now the software on the cd can connect to the router. i cannot access its settings using IP address in browser, the page wouldn't load. I am so worried. Can i revert the setting back to dsl uplink?I can connect to the internet very smoothly using my old router so you can't blame my phone line or lan wire. I have tried reset the new router many times but still the ADSL light never lights up. And the ADSL light is ok because when i turn the router on, it lights with all the others.
I am trying to port forward for Vuze and I am having a problem understanding the concepts at [URL] for working within two routers. I have a Zoom 5241 cable modem connected through a Motorola VT2442-VD for Vonage VOIP, then connected through my Netgear RangeMax WPN824v3 wireless router, to my computer. I am also running AVG internet security. Here is a look at my ipconfig /all:
C:Users ex>ipconfig /all Windows IP Configuration Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : MarekFamily Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . : Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Hybrid IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No
[code]....
However, I do not understand where to setup the static ips and where to drop DHCP to be able to port forward successfully. I have tried in Vuze to set up acceptable ports 51600 for TCP and UDP, but they continue to get this error: "NAT Error - Connect attempt to 67.60.124.173:51600 (your computer) timed out after 20 seconds. This means your port is probably closed." I do know that the Ip present is from my Vonage with my external IP address. I even tried to establish rules for TCP and UDP within AVG Firewall settings for the Vuze program.
I've been having trouble signing into the PSN and Sony have given me some TCP and UDP ports to enter, I presume they're the ports for PSN. TCP Ports: 80, 443, 5223, and 10070 - 10080 UDP Ports: 3478, 3479, 3658, and 10070, When you want to open new ports on the BT HomeHub you have to fill out this form, and I don't know whereabouts I enter these ports I've been given.
im trying to set up my cctv so i can watch it from my iphone outside my network and it says to open ports 80, 9000 and 15961. ive successfully opened ports 80 and 9000 but cant seem to get 15961 to open. i have an att 2wire.
So I need to forward certain ports to play/log-in game:
TCP: 80, 443, 2099, 5222, 5223, 8393-8400
UDP: 5000:5500
I did forward them in my router and checked them with PFPortChecker, every port seems to open except 2099, I don't understand why.Note that I disabled Windows Firewall, Router's Firewall, and I'm using Kaspersky Internet Security which I disable while checking ports/logging to game
I'm trying to forward ports for game connections. For this particular game, I'm trying to forward port 7777My ports aren't forwarding according to: Open Port Check Tool - Test Port Forwarding on Your Router and Open Port Check Tool[CODE]
So I am working on a website with MySQL/PHP that I have been developing on my Linux box. I wanted to show a friend my progress so I temporarily opened up port 80. So he was able to just type in my public IP and it brought him to my localhost index.
My question is, when I type in my IP address in the URL bar, does the web browser automatically just assume port 80? What happens if I want to have 2 different servers from the same local network and one is running through port 80 and the other is running through port 90? In this case, would I have to type ":90" to access the machine running on port 90?
I have my internet through CenturyLink which is a DSL connection running on an Actiontec Q1000 on a Windows 7 set up. I'm trying to run a subsonic server on my computer to stream my music collection. It was all working beautifully until I had to switch to this modem from my previous. Now, when I go to canyouseeme.org, it can't see that 4040 and 8080 are open. They need to be for subsonic to work? I've tried to set it up as portforwarding
I've recently set up a PC-based IP PBX in our small business which uses a SIP Trunk for up to 3 simultaneous voice calls. Ports needed to operate include 5060 (SIP-UDP) and then a huge range of high-number UDP ports which I believe is for the 'media' or audio. Let's call the range UDP 49,152 to 64,512. I only know a little about the SIP protocol but my understanding is that each call will randomly use a few ports from this range across which will pass audio, Is there a need to have such a wide range of ports open? If my SIP trunk is only capable of 3 simultaneous calls then it seems only 9 or so of those open ports could get used at once. Could I not just open, say a range of 100 ports and be fine, thereby reducing the security risk?
I want to be able to use port 1-80 for all outgoing traffic. I have a VPS outside my home, which can redirect the packets to the prober ports. Is it possible with an application on the computer and VPS? Or is it impossible?
At first I tried to port forward 25565 on my D-Link Router account, but that didn't work for anyone trying to connect through the External IP.
People can connect locally over my network and I can connect to the game via localhost, but like I said, no friends from abroad.
I've checked my External IP and that doesn't work, I've tried resetting my router to factory default and then reinstalling the firmware for the model, that didn't work. I tried removing the firewall altogether, and also just allowing 25565, but that didn't work. I also got my friend to take their firewall off as well.
(Also, it should be known, when I'm port forwarding I'm allowing access, and have 25565 set in both TCP and UDP. I tested to see if the port was open on Open Port Check Tool, but it said it was closed (connection timed out) even though I had it forwarded)
Unfortunately we are stuck with a bt homehub 2.0. We all hate this thing with a passion. We cant workout how to open the same port on 2 devices. When we try it says theres a conflict and just refuses to let us do it. So only one of us can play the game we want, without it timing out. Now I've tried the BT forums, there was no support there. I phoned up BT and to my absolute disgust, nobody there knew how to use the homehub, or simply said 'turn off the firewall'.
Router Model: TP-Link TD-W8970 port forwarding my modem/router. I previously was able to successfully port forward a Valve Source Server and had other people join on the internet so...(It worked) I recently reformatted and since have had issues.
I'm currently setup with PPPOA and I've added various ports for different programs (a Teamspeak 3 Server[9987] and Minecraft[25565]) either dont work. I used a port checker program and they either say the port is closed or the connection is refused...I've tried using a static IP but I think i configured it wrong becuase i was barely able to get the internet while using it, either way..the ports didn't open.
DCHP is disabled (Tried enabling, didn't work) The above ports are enabled with Windows firewall (inbound+outbound) and Im not using any Anti-virus software to block the ports. Windows 7 64bit, fresh format and ports that wont go through.
I'm just setting up a Cisco rv180w router to replace our aging Belkin. I need to allow a range of ports through the firewall to a particular PC on our internal network that runs our VOIP/SIP Trunk phone system.
The Cisco's Port Forwarding looks like it can only forward one port at a time, but for our phones I need to allow a full range of ports (in this case ports 49152-64512) to one machine at 192.168.x.xx.
On the Belkin I used something called 'Virtual Servers' which allows you to enter ranges of ports. Anybody know what the equivalent might be for the Cisco router?
I've been trying to configure my router which is linksys E1000 to forward port to my sharepoint server. Here is what I have done so far, setup single portforward to i.e 192.168.xx.xx using port 4848.Now my question is, do I need to configure sharepoint to receive this incoming connection. I do need to have my sharepoint be accessed anywhere on the web.
I have set up port forwarding for my WD Network HDD, which runs a Media Server (Twonky). Now, I have tested the ports and accessed it through the internet and it works fine, until... I click a link to open a folder and suddenly I get a "No such page" error thing. I have however identified this problem, it seems that when I go off the main page it re-routes to the original network address, not my IP forward address. For Example if my IP was 82.9.12.456 and the port was 800 i would go to "82.9.12.456:800" and it would load but once I navigate i go to "192.168.0.*:800/*****" and does not load the page. If i then copy and past my IP into the URL it works, but this is annoying.
i want to open portforward to utorrent in arouter but i cant open the addres of the router lookand when i go to local area connection status /status/detailsi found number of ip but there is no gateway i take whole ip and put them in browser and its dont open but the last friday i wake up in 3am run cmd and put ipconfigi found the gateway 192.168.2.45put it it in browser its open want username and pass i know them but i see lets doit next day going to bed next day the gate way reverse to the stupid gateway in in the pic i cant use aprogram to open port as i cant knowing my router mode
What I am attempting to achieve is to aggregate trunk ports out of a VMware server into a single logical connection to give as much bandwidth as possible, the switches are 3750X and are three stacked together with the server connections spread across the stack. What I am not sure about is if two port channel load balance protocols can happy co-exist on the switch, by default the switch is using MAC address load balancing and Vmware wants to use IP Source load balancing. As other trunks and channels exist on the switch I don't want to make a change that will affect the other live connections if changing this is a global setting and not local on the channel.
My Comtrend WAP5813n router, seems to be failing at port forwarding as I have configured it to forward ports, all the port checkers (offline and online) say those ports are open, yet I cannot access through them,it just fails to forward them(My server isn't blocking anything because it has worked on a previous router).
port forwarding this im trying to setup a minecraft server with bukkit and i tried a number of things to port forward and it won't open port. I have a tomato firmware linksys router and a qwest modem.
I am looking a 16 or 24 Port Ethernet (NON POE) card for my 2800 Cisco Router NM-16ESW is EOL/EOS and the replacement is shown as SM-ES2-24 However SM-ES2-24 is not supported on Cisco 2800 Series.
I have stacked WS-C3750E-24PD with Ten Gigabit Ethernet ports configured under ether-channel. It has c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE1.bin IOS installed on it. One of the Ten Gigabit Ethernet ports, goes to err-disable mode with following errors on that specific ports.
Here's my problem. I'm going to be using Cisco 1941 routers at a bunch of remote sites. All of these sites have 2 comm paths out. Some of them have 2 IP/VHF radios and some have 1 IP/VHF radio and a copper link using Patton ethernet extenders. From the VHF radios the data hit our MPLS network back to our HQ and the sites with copper go directly back to our HQ. Everything ends up at a Cisco 4948 switch. The problem I'm having is that I want the routers at the remote site to use one ethernet port (G0/0) as the primary and the other (G0/1) as the backup interface. I've tried the backup interface command but the problem is that depending on where an outage occurs the ethernet link to either the radio or Patton stays up so it never switches over. We're using OSPF as our routing protocol and I'm sure there's something that can be done with it but I'm not sure what.
I have a 2610 router. How can I tell if the built-in ethernet port is only a 10BASE-T or if it's a 10/100 port? Is there a "Show" command to give me this information or did it only come one way? I have found conflicting information on this :-( If it's only 10BASE-T, can I upgrade it to 10/100?
