SG 300-10p - Cannot Use Anything But HTTP For Accessing Switch
Sep 19, 2012I'm following what I believe to be the instructions for allowing SSH and HTTPS access, but alas, I cannot use anything but HTTP for accessing this switch.

Accessing Sever Via HTTP Over MPLS?
Sep 30, 2011This one is kicking my butt.I have an MPLS network with three stes.Site1 is where all my servers reside.Site2 and Site3 just have a few PC's.From Site2 and Site3 I cannot access the server at Site1 via http://IPADRESS.Of.Server.I am able to ping just fine.I thought it may be a router issue but... there is is a single PC at Site2 that can access it with out any issues.All the IP settings (Default GW, DNS, etc...) match the other PCs.The windows firewall is turned off on all PC's. AVG is disabled on the PCs.

Mar 10, 2013We have ASA5520 and we want to configure a VPN IPSEC profile so that a partner of ours can access only a server and only on HTTP port.I've tried configuring split tunneling with an Extended ACL but probably I'm missing something. I just configured the ACL so that it included any source to our server's IP on HTTP port but when testing, it didn't work.
However, if I configure a Standard ACL on the split tunneling I can access the server and all the services it provides.Do you know if I'm missing anything on the Extended ACL configuration?
Should I configure this any other way?

Sep 16, 2012I have tried search but found found anything for the 3750 switch about how to redirect HTTP, HTTPS & SMTP traffic to altenative gateway, than our standard gateway on our network, so here goes:
The network that need the HTTP, HTTPS and SMTP traffic redirect is 192.168.5.0/24 and should be redirect to 192.168.5.205 where as all other traffic need to be direct to 192.168.5.199.
Can the 3750 switch do this typo of refirect and if how?? I cannot find anything on the Cisco site stating how or even if it is possible!

Jan 21, 2013I have a 6509 running catOS that i had to do some routing changes on this weekend. I guess i forgot to set the default route so now I can't login or ping from outside the local subnet and because of acl restrictions on the vty lines can't login from a device within the local subnet. I can login to the sup module so i'm trying to figure out if there is way to get to the switch from the sup like you would access the sup from the switch by inputting the command session 15 or session 16, is there a way to do the reverse to get to the switch from the sup?

Its pretty small but I am bearly an smart user, noobie if so.I have a Motorola Cable Modem model SB5101 receiving the internet from Shaw Cable.from there I have an ethernet cable to my switch (Cisco SE2500) from there I have two ethernet cables coming out, one goes to my PC and the other one goes to an Airport Extreme so our laptop.I am just here double checking this info... sice this is an unmanaged switch I guess there is no way of accesng an interface to make this happen.I just hate spending the money in something I wont be using just because I dont know whats going on.

May 12, 2012I've been assinged a task to connect our branch office with the head office, so that the IP Phones in the branch office can be connected to Cisco Call Manager at head office. To accomplish this they have given a Cisco 877 Adsl router a 10 Port 3-COM POE Switch and 3 Cisco 7911 IP Phones. Currently the there are 7 PC's Connected to 3 COM Switch which indeed is connected to a Internet router(Speedtouch). First I thought of connectiong the IP Phones to the Ethernet Port on Cisco 877 router but had to change my mind as the ports are non POE ports and I do not have adapters for IP phones. So I've decided to connect the Phones to 3 COM Switch and create VLAN's (DATA & VOICE) and pass the DATA traffic through Speed Touch and Voice traffic through the Cisco 877 router, but when I tried accessing the 3-COM Switch via Console I am getting Junk language( See the attachment for reference).
how can I pass through this Junk messeges and access the switch

May 9, 2012I am testing out some inspection options on an ASA 5505, and I am running into a situation in which applying a http inspection is dropping all outbound http traffic. I get a "protocol violation" error in the logs.
Here is the setup: I'm not sure why the web traffic is getting dropped.

May 7, 2013I am trying to configure interface vlan1 to get an ip address from dhcp by entering the commnad ip address dhcp ios rejects the dhcp portion of my command as not recognised although it is referred to in Cisco manuals.my IOS version is c2950-i6k2l2q4-mz.121-22.EA14.bin.I get the same problem when I try to configure ip http secure-server on the switch. Is this a known bug or whether I have the correct IOS version for these commands?

I can pull the file down manually via a browser, or doing a wget from the command line. However, the plugin fails. Cannot Access Few HTTP Sites
Mar 1, 2012I cannot access http sites unless I manually write the prefix https. The issue is mainly on Wordpress blog pages and I have to keep writing https if I want to access other blogger's page.For the time being I am using Chrome's extension "Https Enforcer" which slows down my browsing speed but eventually the sites open. I have to disable it if I have to use google images. I use windows 7, Chrome browser, Pocket Modem.

Aug 13, 2011My desktop PC has occasional hiccups in which I can't connect to any website (via any browser, I've tried Firefox, Chrome, Opera & IE) for short periods of time (usually ~1 minute) but all other Internet connectivity seems to be normal. (I can ping Google for instance, and I remain connected to Google Talk, but I can't load the Google website.)
I recently did a fresh install of XP Pro SP3 and am pretty confident that there is no malware running on the system. (I'm running Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Firewall but I also did a Malware Bytes scan which uncovered nothing.) The desktop is connected wirelessly but I don't suspect an issue with the router because my laptop (via wireless) and my girlfriend's desktop (via wired) can surf the web just fine when my computer is experiencing issues.
I checked for proxies (both in the browser settings and in Windows settings) but everything appears to be setup correctly (that is, unproxied.) DNS is set to the proper DNS servers for my ISP (Cox) but I also tried switching to Google's DNS servers with no luck.

Mar 22, 2011I have been doing a lot of research trying to find like an IT program to RDP for free to very little for personal use that is very easy to understand for the end user.An example of what I what I am speaking of, is if you deal with Verizon, or most major computer companies (Dell, etc) they can send you a URL or give you a code to use at a site, that basically lets them remote to your PC. It may require the user to install a small add on, or to allow some type of permissions, but doesn't require them to download huge programs or sign up for accounts.
I myself will create an account of course, and as I said even pay a small fee for a good program. But it's strictly for personal use and I am sure there is a good open source program I can use that I can just make a donation to.

Mar 14, 2012Have a school which is split into 2 domains (and 2 different subnets). A logged in windows domain user from domain A needs to access a windows share on domain B. So I made a bat file on the pc in domain A to map a drive to the share on domain B, using the net use command but specifying login credentials of a domain user from domain B.The pc on domain A has it's hosts file edited so it can access the server on domain B which the share is on, ping and everything to this server works fine.I created a user in domain B with the corresponding login details as in the batch file, same un and pwd, it didn't work. If I specify the un and pwd in the batch file as the domain admin account on domain B, it works fine everytime. I'm pretty sure it's not a premissions thing as I have given the inital user that I specified in the batch file full control to the share permissions and security permissions on the share in question, it still wouldn't work.
All I can think of, but can't put into good technical words, is that this user I am specifying in the batch file not only needs to have access to the share itself but has to enter the other domain as well, would there be some protocol or something in which it does not have permissions to use effictively but the domain admin clearly does as it works fine for domain admin?

May 22, 2011Q1/ I have 2 WinXP laptops on the network. One is WinXP Pro and one is WinXP HomeIn My Network Places of WinXP Home, it can see the WinXP Pro. In WinXP Pro, I have to do a search of the WinXP Home computer in order to detect its existence. WhyQ2/ In both systems, when I tried to access the other computer, a popup screen asked for password. I keyed in the proper password, but I cannot access the computer on the network. I repeatedly keying in the password but had the same result. I turned off the firewall on both systems. Same problem existed. On both systems, "File and Printer Sharing" are enabled in the Firewall exception. And on both systems, I can ping the other system without any problem
