Cisco :: Troubleshooting Iperf Results Over Infrastructure
Mar 19, 2013I am working with a client who is adamant their backbone is fine. However, I am unable to get a single iperf connection to generate anything more than 9.5 megabit/s, and can go all the way up to 322 megabit/s with multiple streams before it looks like we are saturated. Note the example below for a single stream has a 1MByte window, with 8kb we were only able to see 2.4 mbits/sec per stream (as seen in the per stream in the example below). Where would you begin to look for why we cant seem to exceed 2.3mbit/s with an 8kb window, or 7.88 with a 1mbyte.

Jan 21, 2013I'm replacing a PA-POS-OC3-SM with PA-POS-1OC3 in a flex Wan module (WS-X6582-2PA) in Cisco 6506 using WS-SUP32P-GE PISA.I have a hard time bringing the "protocol up. the status I see is line up and protocol down. Debug shows (attached) no comunication with the edge router but when i put the older PA (PA-POS-OC3-SM ) back evertything works fine and older PA has been running for many years without the issue. I'm replacing older PA is becuase this is going EOL. I had opened a TAC case but the TAC engineer added no value. [code]

Nov 12, 2012I have a ACE4710 setup to load balance a couple of web servers. The real servers all show as inservice as do the propbes and serverfarms/virtual servers. If I ping the Virtuual server ip address I get a reply but it I try to access VIP via telnet or web browser. I get a connection could not be open error on the client.The question is how do i determine where the error is comming from so far I can not tell if the client is getting through the acl or not.I have used the trouble shooting guide and nothing has worked to determine the cause so far. show service-policy int479 detail does not show an increase in the hit count when I try to connect.show stats conn does not show an increase in failed or timed out connections when i try to connect. May 28, 2013I have an older windows xp computer, xps 400.
I had unplugged my computer due to painting the room. When i plugged back it I couldn not connect to internet. But oddlly enough my mcafee security center gave me a message that mcafee subscription expired, which it can't as I use it through my subscription through aol. Had this problem once before. So i uninstalled mcafee. I ran malwarebytes to see if there was anything that might prevent me for accessing internet, it found two adware that I quarentined.
I have tested my ethernet cord and connectivity on another computer it works fine.I had a realek RTL8139 Family PCI Ethernet NIC, i reloaded the driver after downloading from my other computer, now it say it is a realtek RTL 8139/810x family ethernet nic, not sure if I downloaded the wrong driver but before that I tried changing the speed to less than auto detect.
I have rebooted in safe mode in case there was a virus. I am at my wits end.Is there a way to factory reset the network adapter. What else can I do. light at the ethernet port looks to be yellow. Everything says it is working, I just can't connect.

Jul 15, 2011I've recently moved house and decided to go with Virgin as my ISP. I was able to connect one laptop (running Windows 7), with no hassle, to the internet just fine, however, I've tried connected another laptop (running Windows Vista) and can connect to my router but cannot connect to the internet and it's telling me it cannot identify the network =/ I also can't connect to the internet if I use my ethernet cable. I phoned up tech support also and they recommended I update my drivers, but Windows is telling me I have the most up to date driver for my network adapter.

Jan 29, 2011I have 3 laptops running through a wireless lan. All laptops connect to the router, and 2 of them connect through to the internet. One of them will not connect to the internet. I have tried using an ethernet cable connection, and this did not work either. The more worrying thing for me (not being so computer literate) is that I could not even get a response when I pinged the modem when it was connected with a cable to the PC. The network sharing centre says that I have a default gateway access issue or that "wireless network connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration, I have lost the ability to print with wifi and my Sonos system now no longer connects. I also get a media disconnected message when I do an ipconfig.

Mar 16, 2012I have dir-655 that I have wired to an LG BD-570 bluray. I have a couple of issues that may all be related:
1. Netflix loads shows very slowly
2. When using PlayOn and trying to access script content (i.e. TvLinks, etc) I get a "network may be congested" error
3. I can't update the firmware on the LG when it calls for an update. I get a message that it cannot connect to the server.
It should be noted that when I skip the router and daisy chain through my computer's ethernet port 2 and enable "internet sharing" on ethernet port 1 (coming direct from my modem) none of these problems seem to exist.

I drove last night to my mother's house and proceeded to connect to her own wifi router wirelessly. Although my sister's computer that's on windows 7 connects ably, and both our iPhones connect, my computer will not. My computer finds the network( it is unsecured without a password if that makes a difference ) connects, receives an ipv4 address in ipconfig, yet does not obtain Internet access. But i could only manage to setup 'one way' - the XP Home could access the Windows 7 Ultimate but not the other way Whenever i double click on the XP Home, it will prompt me to login. But no matter what i enter, it will say its wrong. What weird is the 'domain'. The login dialog will show that im login into 'Domain: Windows7PC' when im trying to login into the XP. And after i have enter 'wrongly', it will show the username as 'Windows7PCusername' and ask to try again - it means im login into the Windows 7 And if i try to prefix the PC's name in front - \WindowsXPusername then it will prompt \WindowsXP is not accessible..... The specified username is invalid

Apr 24, 2013From Chrome when I try to download from a file sharing site I get "Unknown network error". And from firefox I get "source file could not be read". From internet explorer it just stops. The downloads don't even get halfway thew before failing. I didn't have this problem with this computer previously before I moved. I'm using the same access point and same internet connection. One thing I notice is that windows network center shows at times that I'm not connected to the internet but I'm still able to browse and use the internet. The disconnected icon only lasts for a few seconds in network center.So I think its some kind of settings or access point issue.
