Unable To Send Email
Jul 30, 2011I am having almost an Identical issue. It seems that I can do anything I want on the internet, but the second I open hotmail all the problems start. Issues occur on both FF and IE. As with you I am able to continue to get some information on sites that are currently open (for example I will get incoming IMs, although I cannot send replys, and my stream on facebook continues to update). Once this happens I cannot open any new webpage or use the wireless on ANY other device in my house (iphones and printer); wired devices seem to have no issues. I have done everything as far as resetting, updating firmware etc to my router with no luck. I have a netgear dual band router, computers with Windows 7 64bit. It seems that accessing Hotmail on the iphones does not trigger the same issue...

Aug 14, 2012I have a server with two adapters: 192.168.1.200 and 10.99.1.200, 10.99.1.200 connects to a cisco router 10.99.1.254 (which I have no access to). This connects via WAN to another network to transfer files to another company. 192.168.1.200 is connected to our local LAN. I have a service that uses FTP to get and send files to a server through 10.99.1.200. I recently had to switch our IP scheme from 10.99 to 192.168 and since then haven't been able to send files to the ftp server. My question is, would a router solve my problem? If so, would I; remove the 10.99 adapter, connect 192.168 to the router, connect the router to the switch, connect the 10.99 gateway to the new router (and update any appropriate routing tables on the server)? The service appears to have issues with using a dual homed server and updating it isn't going to happen anytime soon.

Feb 9, 2012I have a Mac, and my wife has a PC running Windows 7. Since we moved into our new house, our Dlink DIR-601 does not seem to want to send Wi-Fi to both computers at the same time. One of the computers always seems to lag or not have internet connection at all. The Mac also seems to work better and more often than the PC when both are trying to access wi-fi.
I have messed with the channel settings, security, and most other typical settings on the router to no avail. Is there a setting I'm missing or should I enable certain settings that will allow both computers to have the same signal strength and reliability.

Mar 26, 2012I have 2 subnets bought from my provider 194.102.98.128/27 and 194.102.98.160/27.
From my provider a have the following setup:
IP Address: 86.120.151.66
Netmask: 255.255.255.128
Gateway: 86.120.151.1
DNS (1): 213.154.124.1
DNS (2): 193.231.252.1
My IPs are static routed by my provider thought 86.120.151.66 .
On the firewall I have the following set-up:
Outside Interface: 86.120.151.66/25 security level 0
DMZ interface: 194.102.98.129/27 security level 50
Inside Interface: 194.102.98.161/27 security level 100
0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 [1/0] via 86.120.151.1, outside
Everything works perfectly except when I try to sent an email. The email gets sent (eventually), but afert a long waiting time, 45-60 sec. The connection is opened instally to the server but then just hangs there for 40-50 sec. The problem is that a have an aplication on a server that has to send confirmation emails, and that aplication is limited to a 30 sec timeout for conecting to the mail server, much less then the 45-60 sec that I have now. The mail server is hosted by a data center, it is not in my networks (location).
I have tried deleting the ESMTP inspection, that doesn't work. Pinging my mail server rezults in a average time of 20 ms. And when a do a tracert the hight value in a hop doesn't usually pass 80 ms, the average is 20-25 ms.
The problem is ONLY when sending emails. Everything else works perfect, including receiving emails from the same server.

Jan 16, 2012i purchased a Dell N7110 from Dell last week, and a few days later I purchased a NETGEAR PTV2000 wireless display adapter. It was my understanding the N7110 would support the PTV2000; my N7110 specs are below.Originally, I downloaded the required software (Intel WIDI) and drivers from the Intel website.
The laptop and PTV2000 adapter seemed to start fine in that the security code was given on my TV screen and I was able to enter it in the Intel WIDI software. Next step was to select "connect" to the adapter. The connection was initialized, as the green light on the PTV2000 was flashing and my TV screen said "connecting", then "connected". At the moment it said "connected", my laptop screen immediately flashed black, then restored itself approx one second later with the graphics on the laptop screen larger (larger icons) than normal. Approximately one second after this occurred, the connection was lost and the Intel software stated the following error: "unable to send desktop to wireless display, try restarting the application. If the problem persists, try re-installing the Intel WIDI software".
I retried the software numerous times with same results. I uninstalled then re-installed the Intel WIDI software and drivers with the same results. I also uninstalled and re-installed the software, but got them from the Netgear website, and then later from the Dell website (all had Intel WIDI software to download), which all ended in the same results (original problem still exists).After countless tries of running Intel WIDI, the program would on rare occasions, lock up and become unresponsive, while the green light on the adapter was still flashing (connection being made) and the TV message said "connected". The screen never changed from "connect", the desktop image never appeared on the TV, and I would have to use task manager to shut the program down.
Netgear and Intel websites do not address this issue, other than saying "try uninstalling then reinstalling the software", which I did countless times. Web searches hint the real problem is in the Graphics drivers on the Dell - I did find a thread on this site (Dell site) complaining the PTV2000 would not play DVDs or Blueray, and the person changed the Graphics driver, but now cannot get Windows to boot - I believe the Dell techs are currently mailing him software to correct this problem. Because of this, I am very reluctant to change the Graphics drivers as I do not want to cause the same issue on my machine...I have not had any problems with the wifi side of things, in that I am always able to initialize a "connect" without issues, and it tries to connect but just never completely does... tell me if the original problem I stated above can be corrected, and the steps I need to take, or should I return the PTV2000 and forget the whole wireless display idea?
Side Note: I can provide the exact softeware and driver links I used if required, but didn't as there really wasn't much choice - The Intel site, Netgear site, and DELL site all provided short instructions and only one download option; Win 7 32 or Win 7 64. I used Win 7 64 option.

I followed the procedure on Configuring Cisco Devices to Use a Syslog Server from [URL] Our Cisco swtches are all sending syslog messages but not the routers. I compared the config with our access switches but can't seem to find the problem:

Apr 2, 2012Basically, my internet claims to be connected (via wire to router, computer isn't wireless enabled.) but when I open a browser (I normally use Chrome but no browser is working) it came up with the Error 105 no matter what address I try to accessSo far, I have tried resetting my router and waiting, using cmd to reset winsock and resetlog, I've fiddled with some of the proxy settings and immediate downloads Of course, I'm not entirely certain what half of those things have done, but nothing seems to have worked properly. I've uninstalled all of the firewall/anti-virus programs I had installed, which hasn't changed anything either.I have had the 'connected but not connected' issue before since it happens quite often, but usually I disable it, restart the computer and just connect again, then it'll work - but this time it hasn't.
I noticed to have the information given from ipconfig/all, so I've copied out what I get from that below.* I've just noticed that the host name has changed to STACYSC, when it's not supposed to be. Sep 5, 2012Upgraded my OS from Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate. When all was done and over, updates installed and so on I upgraded the Internet Explorer as well from IE 8 (included in the Win 7 install) to IE 9 (I used to have IE 9 before on Vista). A little bit after that I had to uninstall re-install the VPN client for my work and things started going south. Currently after I start the computer the MSN Messenger is not working, the Yahoo messenger is not working, IE, Firefox and Chrome are not working.
IE just hangs, sometimes is displaying [<endif!>] but it seems to find the sites because I can see the icon of the page changinghrome is not able to connect even to google.com but it let's me down nicely (doesn't hog resources like IE does)The Internet connection is fine because I can ping, I can connect to my work's VPN, sometimes even some https pages are briefly working.Once I connect to the VPN everything works great.Now comes the weird part after I connect to the VPN and disconnect, the browsers work, the IM works ... so something gets reset in that process and makes it fine but I have no idea what. (NOTE: IE9 is still barely moving - you request a page go get a snack and maybe it has loaded)

Aug 30, 2012I am using a Dell Latitude E6400 Laptop and have been wirelessly connected to our home internet for several years without any problems. However, of late I have been having problems browsing despite my connection being OK and signal being very good. I am able to still listen to music on spotify, as well as chat on facebook, but cannot load web pages or search for anything on youtube/google etc. I use google chrome but experience the same problem on IE.
I have checked whether it is a problem with malware and have removed all threats, but still the problem persists. the only way I have found of temporarily fixing it is disabling the wireless and reconnecting, whereby it will work perfectly again for anything between 5-50 minutes.I have not changed my router recently so do not think that is the issue. I'm beginning it may just be a hardware fault with the laptop.

Oct 23, 2011I have no admin privileges or access to the router, I have contacted support and they've tried various fixes on their end and just told me it must be a problem on my side. the network registers a mac address under your account name and then assigns an ip.My problem is that my comouter connects to the network fine, and tells me I have internet access, but I can't actually access the internet when I try. I'm definitely connected to the network as i can access the ask4 page that allows me to register a new device, which i access with an ip address of 10.142.0.1 so I'm guessing that's stored locally somewhere on the network. I have tried internet explorer, FireFox and chrome, as well as connecting through game portals and none of them are able to access the internet.
IE gives an error that it says can't be fixed as its an error with the server and Chrome gives error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET). I've tried various fixes, some of which have worked temporarily. After trying most of them I've had internet access that has lasted between 5 minutes and a few hours, but the problem has always returned and the same fix that worked first time hasn't always worked again. I have an xbox that I connect to the same network port in the wall and that accesses the internet perfectly. My computer has 2 Ethernet ports and both have the same problem.
My network adapters are 2 NVIDIA nforce networking controllers (drivers are up to date)When the problem started I was on Windows vista, but I've upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit as an attempt to fix it.I've tried different Ethernet cables, connecting both ports, uninstalling my network adapter drivers, disabling and re-enabling them, resetting my IE settings, disabling and uninstalling my AntiVirus,connecting through an Ethernet switch and disconnecting and reconnecting the cable.

When connected I can ping any device on that subnet, I can also connect to my switch on the same subnet via my browser. I can not however access any device located in my dmz while connected. This is a new setup I'm testing but I need vpn user to be able to use rdp to connect to machines in the dmz.

Mar 29, 2012It is a Dell Inspiron using Windows 7 and the internet has suddenly stopped working on it. It is able to connect to the router fine and says it has a connection but is unable to access anything. And this is accessing the router either wirelessly or wired through an ethernet cable. I know that it is not the router because her roommates are able to access the internet fine and her computer is also unable to access the internet from other networks. Is it possible that the network card in her laptop has died and needs to be replaced? or could it be a corrupted driver? Would using a usb network adapter be a temporary fix? I have searched many forums trying to find an answer but have been unable to.Also a couple times when attempting to see if the wired connection worked I had plugged in the ethernet cable and was able to access google for 5 seconds and then it stopped working, and then unplugging and reconnecting would yield the same results

Jul 17, 2012I tried my entire afternoon trying to figure this out but to no avail. Fortunately, I found this place out of my desperation for a solution. My netbook works very well in my home network but when I brought it to my workplace, I was unable to connect to the internet eventhough I could connect to the wireless network. Other computers and laptops were able to connect and use the internet well using the same router. I tried manually configuring my IP and default gateway based on what I read but nothing worked.
