During the Configuration if I have no security set up on my network, the 3300 establishes a connection. If I however, turn any form of security on ( WEP, WPA-PSK [TKIP, WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES] ), the Connection fails. No security is not an option.
This happened while switching routers. The 3300 worked fine on my D-Link Wireless G router (WEP). I was wondering how to resolve it.?
Belkin Powerline Adapters Not Working With New Netgear Router?
Jan 2, 2013Just finally updated my ancient belkin modem to a Netgear D3600WiFi modem router which works really well. However. I have a old G5 Mac without wireless so have always connected through my old belkin modem with Powerline adapters over my house wiring circuit:confused. Unfortunately the powerline adapters no longer work although both lights are flickering on the units. Netgear say they should work.

I'm suppose to have speeds up to 18mbps and I'm only getting up to 5mbps on my Desktop. Now, here's the weird part...when I connect to my wifi on my laptop and cell phone it gets 16mbps. Jun 7, 2013Upstairs I have a Century Link modem/wireless router. My wife and I use our laptops, smart phones, and XBox 360 on the wireless network. Downstairs I have an older Dell PC that I use for my business. I have an Ethernet run from upstairs to downstairs. The Ethernet jack upstairs is near a cable outlet because we used to have cable internet. Now we have DSL and the phone jack is on the other side of the room. Here's my question... I have a Belkin N600 wireless router, is there any way I can plug it into the Ethernet port on the other side of the room, and use it like a wireless adapter? I have tried a few time to set it up as an "access point" but it doesn't seem to work. As soon as I do, I can no longer access the Belkin router to make any changes and I need to do a manual reset. can I plug my downstairs PC into the Belkin N600, and have wi-fi internet access from the wireless modem/router upstairs?

Aug 11, 2011I am using two desktops. One is an old Windows XP running SP3, and the other is a new Windows 7. Neither PC is wireless. I set up the modem through the Windows 7 computer, and it is connected to the wireless modem through the Ethernet cable. (I hope that I am saying all of this correctly.) It's running just fine.Because the other PC is not wireless, I purchased a NETGEAR wireless USB adapter, go through installation and setup, starts and finds my SSID, add WEP key, etc, etc. In the bottom corner of the software it says the signal is good. In the toolbar it says the adapter is connected to the modem.Next to it, though, the network connections icon shows:
Wireless Network Connection
Speed: 24Mbps
Signal Strength: Good
Status: Limited or no connectivity
And so, of course, I have no connection to the Internet. Using the modem through Ethernet on the XP computer (switching the situation around, in other words) is not an option; the only phone line for connecting the modem to the wall is too far away.(It was stated more than once that I should use WPA instead of WEP; I haven't made it that far yet... I'm just trying to get this other computer connected.)

Aug 30, 2011My friend has had constant issues with his wireless network using his dated Linksys router. So he finally decided to upgrade to the Netgear N750. It's a dual band router that simultaneously broadcasts 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. He setup the 2.4 band for the laptops and mobile devices to access, and the 5 band just for gaming on his xbox 360 Slim. He immediately ran into a problem. The 360 slim's built-in wireless card only picks up 2.4 GHz frequencies. To remedy this, he purchased Microsoft's xbox 360 wireless-N adapter as it can pick up 5 GHz frequencies. However, there was no change after plugging the adapter into the 360 slim. His HP laptop can see the 5 GHz network just fine, so we know it's being broadcast. Could it be the xbox is out of range of the 5 GHz band? Is the adapter not functioning properly with the 360 slim?

I had left the drive in, and my (very heavy) DVD drive was dropped on it, breaking both the front USB 2.0 ports and the flash drive. So I had to put the adapter in the back ports. The first few hours were fine, then net cut out. I repaired the connection, only to have to keep repairing every 30 seconds to 10 minutes. Then it stopped working altogether. I've attempted re-installing drivers, but when I do, my computer tells me that the driver I'm installing from my hard drive "Has no information on my hardware", but it's the correct driver and version for my hardware.

Sep 23, 2012I'm using is the Netgear WNDA3100v2.What happens is when I attempt to connect to the internet I have to reset the adapter multiple times before it even recognizes my internet. And then once that happens it takes a few more tries to actually connect. And when I'm connected the speed is fairly decent (around 15-30 Mbps). Problem is, every 5 minutes maybe even less, I disconnect. Then I have to go back through the process of restarting the adapter and whatnot until I reconnect. I've been dealing with this problem for a few months now and have neglected to post about it anywhere because I didn't think it to be this unique.
I have tried just about every other "solution" I could find on the problem and none have worked. Also, if this says anything, I have a laptop setup literally 1 foot or less from my desktop and it connects perfectly well and good using the same adapter. Also I recently purchased another adapter (Linksys AE3000). I figured this might solve my ailment but of course, the same thing happens as the Netgear, except possibly worse. And that adapter works fine on the laptop as well. I also just yesterday completely reformatted my computer hoping it would work, but of course didn't. [code]

Nov 4, 2012My USB Belkin Wireless G Network Adapter seems to disconnect whenever I remove another USB device (usually a memory stick) from the PC.The problem started when I accidentally updated the driver via Windows. It didn't seem to work at all with this updated driver and I couldn't roll back or do a system restore to fix it. I'd done this before and ended up doing a complete re-install of Win 7. This time I did an upgrade install and the driver problem was cured.I'm running a HP XW8400 with Win 7 64 Pro which has been faultless for the 5 years I've had it.The only other change I've made recently is that I've stopped using a D-Link USB hub and started using the USB connectors on the HP LP2465 monitor.This only affects the wireless and no other USB devices.
When it disconnects, Win troubleshooting goes through the motions and reverts to LAN and doesn't see the wireless USB at all. This also happens if I don't use the troubleshooter.Device manager shows the driver to be working, but the wireless USB doesn't function even if I connect it directly to a USB port.The router is still working as all other devices in the house are connected.The only way around it seems to be a re-boot, but when this fault happens the PC gets stuck at "Shutting Down". Without the fault, re-boot or shut down works fine.When it happens I have to power off and on. This usually works fine but every now and then I notice the device driver for the Belkin is disabled.I've found a workaround in that I can take out the Belkin USB before removing another USB device. After the USB stick or whatever is removed if I then reconnect the wireless USB it reconnects fine.

Jul 20, 2012I'm finally upgrading my internet from my currently pathetic 1.5 mbps to a robust 20 mbps cable connection. It's getting installed over the weekend and my question is, should I try to place the modem close enough to my pc for a direct ethernet connection, or will wireless be fast enough to take advantage of the full 20 mbps? I have a linksys wireless-g wrt54g router. It says it's 54mbps so it should be far beyond my cable speed. My adapter on my pc is a Netgear WNDA3100-100NAR dual band usb 2.0 wireless N adapter that claims up to 300 mbps. So it seems like I should be able to achieve the same speeds wireless or wired, but really don't know much about networking other than basic router setup so wanted to double check. It will be a bit of hassle to try to route the modem into my computer room as I don't have any lines run there currently. If I place it by the tv and go wireless it's a lot easier setup.

May 18, 2011I recently purchased a Belkin F5D8053 N Wireless USB Adapter after my 6 year old adapter was unable to see my home network in the network list.
I installed the software but the adapter wouldn't connect to my home network so I reinstalled and updated the driver, still wouldn't work. Finally about 2 hours later it just randomly connected. Now it has been frequently (1-2 times a day) losing connection to my home network for around 3 hours, it can see a dozen networks in the list with full signal strength but won't connect to any at all then connects to my home network again several hours later.
I have switched between the Windows connector and the Belkin one and tried all 6 USB slots with no luck. I contacted Belkin support and they told me to try the device on another computer and see if the problem still happens but I don't have another computer to test it with.
I suspect this is a problem with my Windows installation rather than the hardware or router as my old card would freeze once every couple of days and was only fixed by powering off my computer as Windows was unable to kill the process to restart it.
