Linksys Wireless Router :: HR21-700 Shows A Working Connection To Both Network And Internet
Nov 7, 2011I'm having a networking issue that I cannot resolve.My DirecTV HD DVR receiver (HR21-700) shows a working connection to both my network and internet. However, the STB services port (range of 27161-27192) will not connect through my router (linksys E4200) automatically or manually (Dtv error code 301). By connecting the receiver directly to my modem, the STB services port will connect as it should. I also have a XB360 (LAN), BluRay Player (LAN), two PCs, & Wireless Bridge connected with absolutely no issues. Each are manually configured with a static IP and the proper ports forwarded.I am STUMPED and FRUSTRATED to say the least.Other than the manual setup of these devices, my networking knowledge is not very broad.Are there any settings or configurations that I may be overlooking?The uPnP is enabled, NAT is enabled, and all firewalls are turned off.

[code] If I connect my computer to the HAG, it, of course, works fine.Yesterday, I hit the reset button on the back of the conitech router (because they didn't have the password) and went through the setup wizard, connecting my HAG to the WAN port on the router and it worked fine, both connecting via wireless and with a cable to one of the LAN ports on the router.Today it is no longer working. Dec 25, 2011I am having Inspiron N4010 for almost an year now. I have had many troubles with this but never with internet connectivity. Last week I saw myself not being able to be connected to internet through wireless or wired network while everybody else was connected and surfing. I just thought it to be a small problem and the problem seemed resolved that very day itself on its own.
But today this computer has simply failed to get connected. it does get connected, open a page or two and then again refuses to connect. On the problem diagnoses from network sharing center, it was showing that the websites are not responding, then it started showing that DNS server was not responding while all my setting are correctly configured. I pinged gateway and it responds but on pinging some website there is no response at all. It s a problem with my laptop only as everybody else are using internet very well. I am using internet through my WiFi enabled cell phone using the same connection and router that i use for my laptop. I need an urgent solutions as I have to meet some deadlines regarding assignments.
Linksys Wireless Adapters :: AE3000 Working But Shows Same Signal Strength
Jul 26, 2012I have a E2500 router and just got this AE3000 adapter. Thought that would bump up the wireless signal for using my laptop at the other end of the house about 75 feet from the router. The new E2500 Wireless N has been a big improvement. The AE3000 installed perfectly and shows up as working properly. It's just that the signal strength on my laptop shows 2 bars and the signal strength for the adapter shows 2 bars.

Apr 20, 2011Basically both the wireless connection and LAN connection in my house were working fine until a couple of days ago. I got one of those viruses that redirects all the links that you go on to random websites on the main PC. I ran a full scan with McAfee Antivirus Plus and it came up with nothing. My brother suggested i try downloading malwarebytes on my laptop and installing it on the PC to get rid of it. Malwarebytes picked up the virus and got rid of it. I restarted the computer and when i tried to access the internet on the PC the message on the browser says "Could not connect". My wireless is fine, but the wired connection to the PC is not. When i look at it on the PC it says that it is connected but the browsers show no connection.

May 9, 2012My WAP4410N is configured with 4 seperate SSIDs. Two of the SSID status are showing "Enabled". The other 2 are shown as "Connected". The one that are showing as Enabled are not receiving any packets. Devices connected to the SSID that shows "Enabled" are unable to connect to the network. Any one else encountered similar issues before? This issue just surfaced few hours ago. The device has been using for around 2-3 years with minimal issues.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Internet Connection No Longer Working With WRT54G?
Sep 28, 2011I have had a WRT54G V3 router working successfully for a number of years now with a couple wireless PCs through a cable modem with Comcast as my ISP. All of a sudden yesterday, neither PC could access the internet. No changes had been made to the router.
I contacted Comcast and they of course had me hard-wire one of my PCs into the cable modem. That worked and I was able to access the internet. However, when I tried to put the router back in place (in either a wired or wireless fashion), I could not access the internet.
I've tried following the online Linksys troubleshooting document ion. The lights that should be lit on the router are lit. I can access the router setup web page which shows the settings still intact. I've tried going through the power sequencing to no avail. Comcast says my router is the culprit of my problem, but I don't know why it would all of a sudden stop working. My wireless printer still works so it detects a signal and my PC shows it's connected, but no internet access is possible.
What do I need to do? Are there any other diagnostic tools available? I'm out-of-warranty.

I received this router today, I have a MacBook Pro and a iPhone. The router came with a very small cd, I was very disappointed because , when I purchased this router from amazon , the discription read that this router is Mac compatiable. But that is not true if the cd is not compatiable! My problem is I get a good signal for wifi, but I can not open any websites with my Mac or my iphone.
Lan Is Working But No Internet Connection
Oct 9, 2011I've got a wireless connection in my house going through a Linksys WRT54GC router and also a wired connection with Cisco gateway (only 1 laptop uses it). About 1 month ago some strange things began to happen with the wireless connection, my PC seems not to be able to connect unless I reinstall the protocols and it's really annoying to do that every time I run my PC. Also, the wired connection stopped working (probably because of cable being broken) but it requires a router restart 90% of the time when I want to connect the laptop (that used to connect through cable) to the wireless network. The 2nd laptop has an issue mentioned in the title, the LAN works but it can't connect to the Internet through the router. Ipconfig /all shows that DHCP isn't working, there's no default gateway and DNS seems to be wrong. Could that all be related to router not being updated for a long time? I tried reinstalling drivers, unistalling and installing back network card and doing most of the things mentioned in similar threads but nothing seems to work.

Jul 1, 2012The route is connected to that. Wirelessly, there are two laptops and sometimes an iPad and sometimes a Wii. Verizon DSL. I barely use my laptop during the week, but did notice some connection issues maybe Thursday and Friday nights. All day yesterday and today, as well. I will have a connection for maybe 5 minutes and then get errors loading webpages (and/or videos stopped). I will repair the connection and it will say everything is fine but it will not work, repair again or disconnect/reconnect(sometimes, several times) and then it works for 5 minutes or 20 minutes before the same thing happens. The other laptop is having the same problems. What I have tried so far: restarting the PC, both laptops, the router, and the modem. Resetting the modem. I have not moved any furniture or anything that would cause interference. I am worried because I have been trying to make more money and started at this site called Treasure Trooper which seemed okay-surveys and the like. There were a few pay-to-download things I downloaded but did not run. Avira found a trojan and I deleted it (not sure if the two are related, but I can not think of anything else I have downloaded or installed in the past month or so).The old PC is off; the Wii is on but probably only maintains a small connection. The iPad and other laptop are not mine, but if either is on, they probably have little to no activity right now since the user is away.

Nov 19, 2012I've been happily using a desktop PC wired into a router (using an ethernet cable) as well as a laptop that connects wirelessly to the router. This setup has been working fine since I started with it a few weeks ago.
On Friday evening the desktop PC stopped being able to connect to the internet and hasn't been working since. The laptop is able to connect fine wirelessly.
The router light seems to indicate that the ethernet connection is ok. I've tried connecting wirelessly from the desktop PC but that doesn't work either - the Netgear wireless usb adaptor won't open from within Windows as it usually would do.
Nothing has changed to the hardware setup (I've checked all connections) so I wonder if this is a software problem caused by a virus or maybe by Windows updates?

Jun 27, 2011I am not that good at troubleshooting network issue but luckily I was able to figure out a problem I had with internet connection not working through my Linksys router. My computer is connected hardwire through a wireless router (linksys) and I have 3 wireless devices that connect to the wireless router.I have had the wireless router for about a year and half. I set it up myself and have had no problems since day one until today.It was working fine this morning, my computer was on the whole time, I never shut it down and all of a sudden a couple hours later went back to my computer and couldn't access the internet. "No internet access" message on the taskbar right hand side.Not one of my wireless devices connect to the internet including my desktop that is hardwired.
I tried resetting the modem...no luck. I'm thinking outage or something else that had to do with my cable company. I called them, the lady had me try without the router, worked fine, problem with router.I called linksys since I am not good at troubleshooting router issues and did not want to reconfigure everything and start from scratch.The lady at linksys says the router is out of warranty and after a year they cannot provide free tech support and wanted to charge me for either two of their paid tech support which the cheapest was 30 bucks. After some time of trying to figure out the problem I notice my ip address was different.

Mar 10, 2012I bought this router and ever since my internet connection will drop out for 5 minutes at a time then come back in. This happens on both wifi and the wired connection. The weird part about it is that if there is a program that maintains a constant connection, e.g. xbox live or an online MMO, they don't lose connection when every other device or even tabs within the same browser all lose connection.
BTW It's the REV_B with the 2.07 firmware.

We have another wireless router in the upstairs which gets internet through the wall port and it works fine.We had another downstairs wireless router in the living room that was working fine as well, but I reset it for certain reasons and it no longer works properly.
