Apr 8, 2012I've just purchased a new X3000 and have spent the last 2 days trying to set it up. I can connect to the router and see the settings via the default 192.168.1.1. However when I try to get an internet connection, I keep getting this message :"Timed out waiting for authentication server to respond. Please verify that you have a network connection or contact your network administrator for assistance (412)"I'm using my company-supplied VPN software to connect to my company network, and this is mandatory for me. Not sure if the issue is with this connection software.I bought the X3000 to replace my WAG160N, which was a breeze to set up compared to the X3000.

All i get is the following error: "The connection has timed out" I called my ISP this morning, and they asked me to try adding a proxy server in IE. That is, Internet Options > Connections > LAN settings > Proxy server > proxy.tpg.com.au:3128, After doing this i was able to access the site! What could this mean?

Feb 19, 2011I am able to connect to firefox internet but when I try to log in to my Yahoo Messenger or iTunes store it tells me that my internet connection timed out. I try to connect to Internet Explorer and it will not connect to the web there. I have went into the tools box in Internet Explorer and clicked on internet option and than connection and I was going to try to change the proxy server LAN and when I would go into it to change that I would be able to find the address to put in but can not figure out what the port section is. I am using a wireless connection and it shows that i have connection even when I try the troubleshooting section that checks the connection and it tells me that there is no problem with it. I also tried restarting my wireless router and than restarting my computer which did not work.
Than I tried disconnecting and reconnecting to internet and still nothing. When I would login to my Yahoo Messenger and pushed the troubleshooter bottom it says, "We are not able to make a connection to the Internet. One of the following may be true: You're not connection to the Internet. Check cables, modems, routers, etc; Your Windows Internet options including the Windows Firewall settings are incorrect.; There is a problem with your Windows network settings, for example, the DNS settings in your Internet Protocol (IP) settings are incorrect or the DNS server is specified incorrectly or is not responding.; For more information, check the Windows online help and search for terms like "DNS" or "Firewall."

Whereas, my team members across other locations are able to connect to the servers using my VPN username/password.
I thought there might be some issue with my laptop or internet datacard. I got my laptop formatted, even tried out with fresh new laptops & new internet datacards, but the issue remains same.
I have tried using vpn_5.0.06.0160-k9 & vpnclient-5.0.05.0290-k9 to connect but issue did not get resolved.
Cisco Routers :: Port Forward On RV180W / Connection Has Timed Out
Sep 25, 2012Until now i used a D-Link router with a DDNS account on dyndns.com. I used the ddns account for accesing the surveillance camera when i wasen't at home. The ports for the cameras are 80 and 83.I have a static ip and when i tiped the IP on broswer i was able to acces the camera with port 80 and when i tiped ip:83 i was able to acces the camera with port 83.Today i got a RV180W router made de configuration (ddns, port forwarding) but now when i type the ip address i can't see the camera, instead the router interface is loading and when i tipe ip:83 i get the message "The connection has timed out".I've tryed diferent things but i can acces the camera only by internal ip (192.168.1.x) but using the DDns address i can't acces the camera.

Mar 2, 2012When I'm on a fresh boot on my laptop (full shutdown then starting back up) my wifi connects just fine....perfect.However, when I close the screen (its a laptop) and it goes into standby...when I wake it up again my wifi icon by the clock shows that its still obtaining an IP address or whatever (little yellow dot bouncing back and forth over the icon)....The icon will stay like this until the next time I reset the computer....but the entire time my wifi works as it should....its just the icon thats being weird.

I received this router today, I have a MacBook Pro and a iPhone. The router came with a very small cd, I was very disappointed because , when I purchased this router from amazon , the discription read that this router is Mac compatiable. Jul 1, 2012The route is connected to that. Wirelessly, there are two laptops and sometimes an iPad and sometimes a Wii. Verizon DSL. I barely use my laptop during the week, but did notice some connection issues maybe Thursday and Friday nights. All day yesterday and today, as well. I will have a connection for maybe 5 minutes and then get errors loading webpages (and/or videos stopped). I will repair the connection and it will say everything is fine but it will not work, repair again or disconnect/reconnect(sometimes, several times) and then it works for 5 minutes or 20 minutes before the same thing happens. The other laptop is having the same problems. What I have tried so far: restarting the PC, both laptops, the router, and the modem. Resetting the modem. I have not moved any furniture or anything that would cause interference. I am worried because I have been trying to make more money and started at this site called Treasure Trooper which seemed okay-surveys and the like. There were a few pay-to-download things I downloaded but did not run. Avira found a trojan and I deleted it (not sure if the two are related, but I can not think of anything else I have downloaded or installed in the past month or so).The old PC is off; the Wii is on but probably only maintains a small connection. The iPad and other laptop are not mine, but if either is on, they probably have little to no activity right now since the user is away.

Dec 25, 2011I am having Inspiron N4010 for almost an year now. I have had many troubles with this but never with internet connectivity. Last week I saw myself not being able to be connected to internet through wireless or wired network while everybody else was connected and surfing. I just thought it to be a small problem and the problem seemed resolved that very day itself on its own.
But today this computer has simply failed to get connected. it does get connected, open a page or two and then again refuses to connect. On the problem diagnoses from network sharing center, it was showing that the websites are not responding, then it started showing that DNS server was not responding while all my setting are correctly configured. I pinged gateway and it responds but on pinging some website there is no response at all. It s a problem with my laptop only as everybody else are using internet very well. I am using internet through my WiFi enabled cell phone using the same connection and router that i use for my laptop. I need an urgent solutions as I have to meet some deadlines regarding assignments.

Aug 17, 2012The original network had a Zylex router, Netgear Switch. There was 2 pc's, one XP and Win 7. There is also 3 tills connected too. There is VPN network connected too. This emits a wireless signal to connect to a scanning gun and is also used to administrate the entire network. I was told by the Administrator of that network that it shouldn't interfere with the wifi network.
The job I was requested to do was to install 3 new wall plates as the Win 7 pc was using a Belkin wireless adapter. There was 2 put inside the office where the XP and Win7 pc's are located. The 3rd was just outside the office.
Now all the ethernet connections work 100%. The wifi is another story though. It will show up in the connect too, when you try connect it will disappear/no response from AP/connect then disappear, these are random too. No order to when each is error is displayed. Even when I put in another router the exact same issues happen.
I have tried to connect to both routers wifi when it wasn't plugged into the switch. Just the router's turned on with no cables plugged in separately of course, no joy same issue with both.
