Jan 15, 2009We have a new DCS-5220 that we're playing with, seeing what we can do with it, and have a number of questions as well as one possible bug to report. I was somewhat surprised when tier 3 support said this was the best place to cover them all - including the bug.We are using firmware version 1.02, which is what the camera came with.
In the webgui, under Configuration > Tools > System > "Turn off the LED indicator" this is completely ignored by the camera. The red power LED is always on, and the green status LED flashes as long as it has a network connection. This is clearly a bug.What is the root password?Is there a URL we can pole for a static image? (ie.url... which would trigger a snapshot every time the URL is requested)Are there any shell commands for motor control? If so, what are they?Is there a shell command to retrieve logged in users? If so, what is it?Is there a shell command for controlling the LED activity? It would be really nice if the status LED lit green when there was someone logged on to the webgui. Perhaps this is the intended activity, and it not doing so should be filed away as part of the above bug..
Vista Showing Normal Wireless SSID Plus Showing Second Unidentified Network
Feb 5, 2011my computer is a dell dimension 1100, with a Linksys WMP54G wifi card, running vista home basic.In the wifi thing in the notification area, it shows two wireless networks, One is my normal SSID (Lower Net), and one is "Unidentified network". They are both on one wireless connection (Wireless Network Connection 3). When i try to go on the internet, it says i'm not connected. i tried disconnecting from the unidentified network, but that disconnects me from lower net too.

WRT150N - Wireless Signal Showing But No Internet Connection?
Jul 2, 2012I recently moved and changed computers, but ive been trying to setup my Linksys WRT150N. I had one cable coming from the modem and into the port on the router labeled "internet" and then another cable coming from one of the router's ethernet ports, going into the PC.
I opened a browser and typed in 192.168.1.1 into the address bar and got to the setup page. When I search for wifi using either my laptop or my droid, it shows that there is an excellent signal and will connect to it, but when I try to perform a task that would require internet, it says that there is no internet access.

Dec 1, 2007I now have two identically configured (same hardware and software) Inspiron 1420 (new) and I can't get the Wireless Activity Indicator light to come on. I've talked with Tech Support three times (Level 1 and 2). They thought it was the switch ans sent an in-home technician to replace the bottom casing of my first unit. When the Technician realized that the switch was fine and the indicator (LED light) was not coming on, I requested a new replacement unit. The second unit arrived with the same non-functioning LED. As I mentioned in a previous post, I've gone to Staples office supply store that now sells Dell 1521 & 1721 laptops and both store display model's LED activity indicator lights up when both units are off and the switch is pushed to the ">>" position. Having already insured (with Tech Support walking me through it) that Quickset as well as the BIOS have the Wi Fi Catcher enabled and Wireless settings enabled. There are no problems connecting to wireless networks when the laptop is on and the switch does turn wireless On and Off. Question to all Inspiron 1420 owners, how many of you can get your wireless activity indicator to light up when your laptop is OFF? If enough owners respond that their LED indicators don't work, maybe we can get Dell to admit a design defect. At this point, I don't know what else to do to get Dell to fix this issue and I assume they won't keep sending me new replacement laptops until I find one whose LED works.

Oct 21, 2011Some background first. Last night I went trolling around for a solution to an ip address conflict message I receive when I try to go onto Xbox live via a network bridge on my laptop. What I eventually ended up doing was going into my tp-link wireless router settings (not sure of the exact model number as I am not home right now) and reserving two different ip addresses for my laptop and my Xbox using their MAC addresses. It didn't appear to do anything ( now I think possibly because my Xbox needs the same ip as my laptop?). Anyways I tried to go onto Xbox live and it worked at the start (as it always does) and then 30 minutes in, the ip address conflict message came up (usually meaning a disconnect from Xbox live is imminent). But I actually ended up staying online for another 3 hours until the Internet crashed.
Upon further investigation I noticed that my wireless network was not even showing up on my computer, my phone, or any of my roommates computers. I went upstairs to check the wireless router and it was seemingly working correctly (i.e. no flashing lights or anything). Not quite sure what to do. I would go back and change the router settings but I don't think I can without a connection to it.

Jan 6, 2013I have vista installed in my HP m/c.Earlier the 'connect to Networ' list was showing my WIFI nw but suddenly it doesn't show now n the list while other wifi n/ws are still shown in the vicinity.I tied to setip the wireless n/w using 'HP Wireless Assstant' wizard but while I select the routr as Dlonk th mdel shown in the list doesn't show Dir-300 so it gives the message as 'HP network assistant currently doesn't support te router you selected'. What can be done to get wifi in the list of availale networks.

May 24, 2011I've tried changing the settings on my DLink wireless router, resetting it and my cable modem (by unplugging them and plugging them in again), and even restoring my iPod, but I cannot find my home wireless network! Both my iPod and my PC can find other networks, but not my own.My network is WPA-2 only, which my iPod should be able to see. The cipher type is TKIP. My wireless channel is 2.437GHz (channel 6, I can't change it). Aug 12, 2012I've come across an older IBM ThinkPad 2687 via work that was just collecting dust, and it was able to connect to a wireless network.Due to other issues with the machine, I had to do a complete refresh on it, so it only had the XP OS.
I had to update the drivers to make sure other things like connecting to a flash drive, and connecting to a local area was possible, which is how I'm able to connect now.However, I've been unable to access the wireless connection within Network connections. I've downloaded the different drivers from the Lenovo IBM ThinkPad website, but still no luck.

Sep 13, 2012I'm trying to install my WMP600N wireless adapter. It's not showing up in my device manager. The thing is I've installed it in the past and ran into some driver issue which made me give up. But it showed up in device manager before so I know it's not a dead card. Right now, plug and play isn't working. How do I get a Wireless Connection to show up in my device manager? This is for my PC. I also have a couple drivers I could use but I don't know how to install them because they are not exe files. I can't select upgrade drivers because the network adapter isn't showing up in the first place.
I have tried unplugging and replugging, and also scanning for hardware changes in device manager.

Jun 29, 2012I have a strange problem with my Linksys E1000. When I try to connect wireless, there is a network with an excellent signal, but it has the name "CiscoI1593" and it asks for a password which I don't know. My original network does not appear for some reason when I try to connect wirelessly. I do see my original network name when I use an ethernet cable through the E1000.
It's not possible, where I live, for this "CiscoI1593" network to belong to someone else, it just seemed like it renamed my network to this and also wants some different password.
I think this may be due to something I did. My internet occasionally cuts out and it's usually something wrong with the modem or router, so I typically unplug and press the reset button on both until it begins to work again. This is the first time i've had this problem though, and I have unplugged and pressed the reset button on my router many times.
There is also a button in the middle of the front of the router that looks like a refresh symbol, but I don't really know what it is, pushing it doesn't seem to do anything but make a solidly-on light become blinky.

Mar 18, 2013I have encountering a problem with a new installation at my clients side recently.We have a 5508 wlc and a bunch of Laps connected to it.Recently we associated a 1142ap to the same controller.The issue we are facing is that , the client laptops that are connected to THIS ap are showing maximum of only 54mbps in their network information dialogue box.Initially i couldn't understand why this could happen.But after a bit of research , i came to know that this could happen because of ``unticked`` data rates in the controller , or because of not using wpa2 with aes as the security standard for N-series access points.Now i have enabled all data rates in the High Throughput section as well as enabled the correct encryption standard.But still the issue persists.We have checked with multiple laptops , to rule out the possibility of a faulty n/w card

Aug 19, 2012I have a desktop PC where the only internet connection is via a 'USB mobilebroadband dongle'.I have connected the PC via ethernet cable to the ethernet port on a d-link wifi router (which isn't connected to the internet).I'd like to be able to connect other non-PC devices (eg my mobile phone) to the router via wifi in order to connect to the internet.To do this, I gather that one possible solution is to bridge the LAN (not connected to internet) and dongle (connected to internet) connections.My first problem is that in 'Network Connections', only my USBdongle connection is shown (see pic) - there is no icon for the LAN/ethernet. In device manager, the "Atheros AR5007EG Wireless NetworkAdapter" and "Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller" are both showing without any ?
Other info:I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 on a HP Pavilion All-in-one MS200 desktop.
Wifi Network Not Showing Up?
Mar 4, 2012Couple of weeks ago, I bought a net gear n600 dual band router. It's worked perfectly until last night. The network won't show up on any wireless devices in the house. I have restarted and reset it and my modem which is a westell. Sometimes the computer plugged in to the Internet with the Ethernet cord can connect and sometimes it cannot. What is the next step to figuring this out
