View 3 Replies View RelatedI've used a newly purchased laptop, Acer Aspire 5733Z-4614 to connect to wireless networks before, including the network I'm currently on (/w another laptop), however, recently it has been unable to go through to the internet, but does successfully connect to the network. The encryption seems to be OK, since both laptops are using the same WPA2-Personal AES, and this (currently connected) laptop does just fine. I've read through a few other articles on this site but haven't been able to pinpoint the problem. To my knowledge I have not changed any settings since it has worked correctly.

With this software I tried to connect to internet but I got error message "The device has been disconnected or is unavailable". I checked in device manager and in two categories this device appeared. Those two categories were "Modem" and "Network Adapter". Why this device comes under two categories plus why I am getting this error message?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter moving I was using a wireless Internet connection for a while but then I started using a direct connection to a router. Now I'm back to wireless but I'm having this problem, my brother has been using the wireless from the beginning and still does so I'm sure it's my computer. No browsers work, no games, nothing can connect to the Internet.I'm running windows 7 and now the Internet icon in the taskbar is the computer monitor with a yellow triangle as opposed to the bars of wireless internet unless I'm connected or trying to connect to the wireless Internet that either says I have limited connectivity or is connected but doesn't work.

I have a Dell Inspiron M5040 with Window 7 64 bit. Just recently it has started giving problems. I can connect to my wireless network but no internet access. I have check all the settings like DHCP enabled. I have an IP address but no internet access. If I use an ethernet cable I can connect to the network and internet without a problem. What could be the problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried my entire afternoon trying to figure this out but to no avail. Fortunately, I found this place out of my desperation for a solution. My netbook works very well in my home network but when I brought it to my workplace, I was unable to connect to the internet eventhough I could connect to the wireless network. Other computers and laptops were able to connect and use the internet well using the same router. I tried manually configuring my IP and default gateway based on what I read but nothing worked.

There is a problem with establishing an internet connection between my laptop and any wireless network, and hence the internet cannot be accessed. Though, the connection can be established locally between my laptop and the wireless network for a short while before the connection is lost locally. There is certainly no problem with my current wireless router as there are internet connections between the wireless network and other devices. Prior to using the current wireless router, I used Linksys WRT54G for internet connection until recently when there was no connection between all devices and the Linksys wireless router, so I changed my wireless router to the current one. However, the problem still persists for my laptop. I can only get access to internet when my laptop is connected to the router using ethernet cable, as well as when my laptop is connected to the main cable modem using the same cable. My laptop model is Fujitsu Lifebook S Series and my laptop is running on Windows Vista Service Pack 2 and my current wireless router is Belkin N300 Wireless N Router Model F9K1002v1.What I have done so far are that I have ensured that the DNS client and DHCP client service are enabled and that I have used the method of "/release, /dnsflush and /renew" on the command prompt.Below is the /ipconfig /all description when this laptop is connected to the cable modem using ethernet cable:

So I have a Windows HP Pavilion w1907 desktop. My computer says that I am connected to a wireless network. However, I cannot use any programs, like AIM or Mozilla Firefox, iTunes, or any other programs that require internet connection to work. I visited the Network and Sharing Center, which says I'm connected to an unidentified network but not the Internet.

I am trying to access the internet wirelessly from another pc running Windows XP. The wireless pc indicates it is connected to the network with excellent signal strength. It will not connect to the internet. I can successfully ping the router but it is unsuccessful when pinging an internet address.
An additional wireless pc (WinXP) and my phone (Android) also show connected to the network but will not connect to the internet.
These wireless computers used to be able to access the internet before we moved house. They only thing I think that has changed is the addition of Windows firewall and anti-virus. It may however be something else.
I have a WMP110v2 card installed in my desktop. It can connect to my wireless network, but it cannot access the internet. Other computers on the network can connect to the internet (wired and wireless), so I know it's not a problem with my modem/router. I have tried reinstalling the device several times, but nothing seems to work. It receives a valid IP address, but when I try to ping my router, all packets are lost.I'm completely lost on what to do next.

Dell Dimension 3100Windows XP Media Center Edition, SP3
Intel Pentium 4 CPU @ 2.99GHz

I have a very annoying problem with my Linksys WRT54G2.When I connect a wireless device (laptop, phone, TV, Ipad) to my wireless network I only see a Local connection, no connection to internet. After resetting the router (power off for several seconds) the internet-connection is available again.I have to do this every 1 - 2 days.

I recently had to reinstall windows 7 on my first pc, and It seems i cant get internet to work on my second pc. The computers can ping each other, and my second pc shows as "connected", yet has no connection to the internet (and cannot ping to anywhere, cept my first pc). IP configs seem to be fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSanta got a second-hand acer mini-laptop for my daughter this last Christmas and she accidentally pour some coke in it, I took it to the shop and I had to pay to repair it; when I got it back, the first thing is that originally it has Windows 7 and now XP, I thought it was ok, but even though I use my network passkey and everything, it quickly connected to the network showing internet access but when I open IE, it shows a message to diagnose connection problems, I run the repair wizard and nothing, but all the time it is showing that the connection is working, will I need to take it back to the shop or is there something I can do?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'll try and explain this the best that I can. I'm currently running a Sony Vaio VGN-NW270F laptop with Windows 7. I'm using a WRT54G2 v1.5 router for my internet connection. Last Wednesday, I tried to go online, but my wireless connection for my home network came up as "limited connectivity", even though there was a 5-bar signal strength. Since then, it has identified and connected to my home network, but displays "no internet". On startup, however, it connects, but then promptly disconnects, and I experience the same issue. I can go online using my parents' laptop, my 3DS, and my Wii, so I assume it's an issue with my computer rather than my router.
Additionally, I have tried using an ethernet cord to go directly into my computer - no luck.I have also done 2 system restores to late May - still no luck.I have uninstalled/reinstalled the necessary drivers - no luck. The only thing out of the ordinary that may have contributed to this situation is that on the day when I started having this problem, a notification saying that my parents' computer's IP address was the same as another on the same network. I have NO idea what that means, nor do I know how it happened, or how to resolve it, if needed
I know about the issue of disabling default gateway... but the thing is on my Windows Vista, when i click on advanced setting for tcp/ip 4, there is no box ticks for disabling it. I don't know why.
