If I have anything else connected to the network (anything being my Xbox 360, or my smartphone) and I turn on/wake up my computer, the entire network crashes and I have to power cycle the router and modem in order to get it to work again. What would even cause this? I often forget to turn off the wifi on my smartphone before I turn on the computer, which results in a lot of very tedious power cycling. It's also frustrating if I'm playing some vidya on the 360 and my wife gets on the computer, resulting in me getting kicked off and her unable to even do what she wanted to do in the first place.
The stranger part is that if I have my computer already on, and I turn on the 360/smartphone, it works fine. So there's something going wrong in the process of my computer connecting to the network, I guess. I have set a static IP, and I also made sure to turn off the energy saving feature of my wifi card, but neither of those things solved the problem.

View 0 Replies View RelatedI saw a thread from early 2010 which described the issue I am currently having to a T. I am on a Belkin Wireless G with Mimo router and it runs perfectly either on LAN or WLAN, until my new roommate's MacBook gets on there at the same time. As soon as the MAC connects, I get a blue screen of death and the PC restarts. I have been battling this issue for over a week now and have absolutely narrowed it down to the Mac/wireless area.
I have already uninstalled/reinstalled my wireless drivers and thought that had fixed the issue(it worked fine for 4 days), until the roommate returned from out of town and connected the Mac to the Wireless....then WAMMO, like clockwork, back came the BSoD. This seems like a very unique problem, as I have done many searches online and the one I mentioned on here is the only one I could find that accurately described my issue.
For reference, I have posted the link to the previous case below. Unfortunately, no solutions, other than reinstall drivers (which I have already done) are posted. I tried everything in that thread and my settings appear to all be the same as his. Is it possible this is just some rare Windows 7 glitch that has never been resolved?

But now It only allows my laptop, when I try to connect with my ipod touch or desktop, not only does it fail, the entire network crashes and my laptop loses it and its gone. It then takes about 2 minutes to come back up. So whenever I attempt to connect with another device the network crashes. so right now only my laptop is connected.I downloaded & updated to the newest firmware, did not work.I tried resetting the router, and made the network all over again, did NOT work.

'm having the same problem my tp-link freezes several times a day and only a hard reset will get it working again. I have no idea how to fix it, I have contacted tp-link support and they say to make sure I have all the right ADSL configuration parameters.
In hopes of fixing some "flaky" connection issues with my WRT54G V2 Wireless Router, I downloaded and applied the new firmware version released on 08/18/2011, Ver.4.21.4 for my Version 2 Router. I downloaded, went through the application process using the router's firmware update process, it said it was successful and then the router restarted and didn't work. Couldn't ping the address, constant flashing Power light, no response at all from router. Tried again, same result. Performed hard reset, same result. Tried a few other recovery techniques found on the web with no success. Finally I did the process found here [URL] This reset the router and I re-uploaded this same 2011 version. Router still broken. I ran through the process again after downloading an older version of the firmware, specifically version V3.1_4.00.7, the upload ran, and the router worked again! This was proof to me that the newest version completely BRICKED my router. I'm so relieved I was able to reset the router and manually recover, but most will never try this. I recommend Cisco retest this ASAP and pull the new release for the V2 router until they get this resolved!

The admin web interface takes several minutes to load, and wireless clients timeout before RADIUS authentication can complete. Waiting long enough allows the diag info to be downloaded, which shows hostapd using all of the CPU time available: [code]
As a workaround, we used to use a small script to reboot them every night via SSH, but someone at Cisco made a less-than-brilliant decision to remove this advertised feature.

View 14 Replies View RelatedFirst, I'm running Windows7 64 bit. So whenever I download a decently sized file; my download will start and get good speed for a few minutes, then it will drop off and stop and my connection to the internet will be lost for a short time while the connection resets. This happens if I'm using a program like Steam to download a game, torrenting something, sometimes on my Xbox 360 when it needs to update itself or a game, occasionally on a large app or album off of iTunes or patching an online game. However, I have no issue watching YouTube videos or playing an online game while also having TeamSpeak running in the backround to chat. I don't lose connection when browsing the internet at all and recently I was able to stream a live event without issue but I only tried that once (I don't have Netflix or anything similar). It usally isn't a big issue because my download will pick up where it left off most of the time but its a pain in the butt to have to add on an extra hour to a download sometimes for this.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Windows Server 2008 R2 set up to allow a vpn connection based on certificate verification. All traffic in my office get routed through a Netgear FVS318 Firewall in which I forwarded all the prerequisite ports to the Server. However, whenever I try to connect from outside the office Windows 7 reports that it either cannot establish a communication with the remote server or that the required Certificate is not installed. I verified the sslcert hash on the Server against the Certificate I installed at home and they match. I can ping both the dyndns and the IP of the office with no problems from home. Or does the firewall not allow vpn connections since it has the ability to host them itself.

Anyways, every time when I start up my computer and sign into my screen the internet connection does not seem to work right away. I thought first this was a problem with Google Chrome but then I tried other applications and it is the same thing. It takes about 30 seconds before I can get internet connection to do anything online even though down at the bottom right it says I am connected to the internet. The rest of the time I'm using the computer it's perfectly fine. It's only when I first start up the computer and sign into my screen. I don't know what's the problem so I'm hoping I can get an answer here from somebody.

OS Windows 7 SP1 x86.I've read about changing some settings in profile file (changed the <WindowsVPNEstablishment> option to "AllowRemoteUsers". Then applied the profile to the relevant Group Policy. Connected VPN from the PC (not through RDP), so that it downloads the new profile, and then disconnected again.): url...
But this make sense to the cisco asa... I have a cisco router on the ios 15.1. I've checked the XML file on the local PC to confirm the profile has been downloaded and is has, and I can't see the AllowRemoteUsers option. So I still can't start VPN through an RDP connection. (Error is "VPN establishment capability from a remote desktop is disabled. A VPN connection will not be established".)This also happened with the previous version of AnyConnect (2.5.xxxx).The PC's local routing tables look fine, and I can't see any conflicts that would cause the RDP session to drop.In the main window of Cisco anyconnect secure mobility client Ive noticed label: Web Authentication required.

Sometimes I can watch it during 1 hour without problem, somtimes it crashes and restart after 10 minutes of playing already. The firmware is the latest 1.0.03, the settings are made for Video Access mode. I'm not using any encryption, only MAC address filtering.
