Can't Connect To Internet After Fresh Install
Mar 15, 2011I just recently got a new SSD, and I fresh installed windows 7 on it. I booted up, noticed that my internet connection would go from the red x to the swirly blue to say it was connecting, but back to the red x. I installed drivers from my MB CD just to get them on there, and I installed the LAN drivers that came with it. No luck.I go to Device Manager and see that it has my reltek LAN ethernet driver in there, NIC(NDIS 6.2) #3 So, then I checked the cable, I assumed this wasn't the issue, but just double checked. It worked in this laptop I'm using now. Then, I tried to window trouble shoot it. IT says a network cable is not properly plugged int(false, i tested the cable)It then says, Local Area Connection 2 doesn't' have a valid IP configuration.I went into CMD and typed /ipconfig release and renew I would get No operation can be performed on local area connection 2 while its has its media disconnected and An error occurred while renewing interfaces local area connection 2 : The operation was cancel by the used.

Sep 3, 2012i was using windows 7 ultimate 64 before but i dont think thats relevant to the problem,after installation i found the correct drivers for my broadcom netlink gigabit ethernet controller and everything seemed to go fine but no connections are detected, it says 'unidentified network, no network access when i hover over the taskbar icon,when attempting to let windows resolve the problem i get the error,'local area connection doesen't have a valid ip configuration, all other computers on the network can connect no problem,im using a comtrend powerline 9020 wall plug with an ethernet cable to connect,and one last thing ive already looked for 'bonjour' in my services list and it does not exist on my system

Oct 22, 2012I have just rebuilt our lms 4 server onto a newly built serve 2k8r2, from our old 2003 box.
The software is installed, and setup, however I cannot get it to add any devices to the inventory. Every device it trys to talk to is classed as unreachable.
I can telnet into each switches from the server, however the LMS software for some reason cant speak.

When I look in device manager, there is a yellow question mark next to Ethernet Controller (along with some other devices). I have identified that I have a Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet Controller (don't know the term for exactly what I am looking to find drivers for, is it just the "ethernet chip"? or "ethernet controller?"). It is a BCM5754 (VEN_14E4 DEV_167A). I am running Windows XP home sp3, which I updated to from sp1 via USB. How do I install drivers to get onto the internet?

Feb 29, 2012I have a compaq presario v2000 that i just installed windows 7 hope premium on (did a full hdd wipe, and reinstall windows)Windows 7 wireless connection manager can see all available wifi connections, but will not connect to any of them.Ive tried this on WPA2 networks, unsecured networks at several places (my office, wendy's, mcdonald's, my home, etc) i dont think it's the internal wifi card, as I could connect to those networks ok before the wipe/reload.I'm thinking it's a driver issue, but it's using the WHCL driver dated 2009 that is included in Windows 7, and I've not been able to find a more up-to-date one.device manager shows Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN, but not exact model number.Compaq support site has drivers for XP & Vista only, and the Vista driver page doesn't include wifi card drivers.

Dec 8, 2012Computer got bad virus (the FBI one on the news) so after every attempt to eradicate it failed, I did a fresh install of Windows 7 onto the computer. However for some reason it won't even acknowledge that it has a Network Adapter. When I go to Driver Devices, there is no Network Adapter to even click on to see what the adapter is so I know what kind of driver to install.
So being an optimist I installed several drivers and nothing has worked. Its set on cable connection and I can't get it to acknowledge its wi-fi. I haven't tried plugging it straight into the modem yet. That's my next step.

Sep 23, 2012 I have a Dell XPS 8300 desktop. The desktop recently got a virus which caused me to completely reformat the computer. I thought the PC came with a drivers CD but either it did not or I cannot find one. Now that I installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 it will not connect to the internet. I have tried downloading all network drivers, bios drivers and making sure BIOS is enabled but still I am unable to connect to the internet.
What can I do to fix this problem or is there any place that I can purchase the actual drivers CD for my PC so that this does not happen again? I have gone to the drivers and downloads page, put my tag number in and literally downloaded every single driver listed and still it is giving me the "no connection detected" error.

Jul 7, 2012I recently built a new computer and everything seemed to be fine but won't let me go onto the internet...I'm using an ethernet cable from the computer to the modem/router (a Netgear DGNB2100). The little tray icon next to the clock says I have "Internet access" but Internet Explorer won't load any web pages (it stays on "Website found. Waiting for reply..." or "Waiting for..." etc) and when I search for updates from Windows Updates it would just keep searching give me some error saying there are connection problems.I've tried everything I can find on the internet, like:-using the windows troubleshoot/diagnostics (which comes up with nothing)-made sure it is obtaining IP address and DNS server address automatically-made sure Internet Explorer is not using a proxy-reset the Internet Explorer setting-disable windows firewall-disable and re-enable the connection-power cycle the modem/restart the computer-reset winsock and TCP/IP-uninstall/reinstall drivers (drivers are up to date as well)none of them seem to change anything and maybe other things which I forgot

VPN is working fine from the desktop, but I also need the ability to establish a VPN connection through a RDP connection (i.e. I'm using RDP to connect to a PC which has AnyConnect installed on, then trying to establish a VPN connection). OS Windows 7 SP1 x86.I've read about changing some settings in profile file (changed the <WindowsVPNEstablishment> option to "AllowRemoteUsers". Then applied the profile to the relevant Group Policy. Connected VPN from the PC (not through RDP), so that it downloads the new profile, and then disconnected again.): url...

I've checked the XML file on the local PC to confirm the profile has been downloaded and is has, and I can't see the AllowRemoteUsers option.So I still can't start VPN through an RDP connection. 1 Acer laptop with windows 7 home premium
1 MSI laptop with windows 7 ultimate
1 Hp Netbook with windows 7 starter
1 USB Broadband
First i had connect the USB Broadband using by acer laptop to make as wifi router/wifi host via ad hoc.MSI laptop and Hp Netbook was successfully connected and able to connected to the internet which share from Acer laptop.Second, after that i am trying to use MSI laptop to create as wifi router/wifi host just like the same way what i done with Acer laptop.My both Acer laptop and Hp Netbook successfully connect to MSI laptop but only the Acer laptop was unable to connect to internet and it was showing "No Internet access". and the "homegroup something it showing "Unidentified network" on the MSI laptop.I had tried to restart all the laptop and netbook to resetting it, unlucky it still unable to connecting to internet.Also i had set all to "Obtain an IP address automatically".And i found out that my laptop ICS on service didnt starting and on Firewall didnt have ICS on the list.When i try to click the start buttom it popping out this:"The Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service on Local Computer started and then stopped. So whenever I download a decently sized file; my download will start and get good speed for a few minutes, then it will drop off and stop and my connection to the internet will be lost for a short time while the connection resets. This happens if I'm using a program like Steam to download a game, torrenting something, sometimes on my Xbox 360 when it needs to update itself or a game, occasionally on a large app or album off of iTunes or patching an online game. However, I have no issue watching YouTube videos or playing an online game while also having TeamSpeak running in the backround to chat. I don't lose connection when browsing the internet at all and recently I was able to stream a live event without issue but I only tried that once (I don't have Netflix or anything similar).It usally isn't a big issue because my download will pick up where it left off most of the time but its a pain in the butt to have to add on an extra hour to a download sometimes for this.

All traffic in my office get routed through a Netgear FVS318 Firewall in which I forwarded all the prerequisite ports to the Server. However, whenever I try to connect from outside the office Windows 7 reports that it either cannot establish a communication with the remote server or that the required Certificate is not installed. I verified the sslcert hash on the Server against the Certificate I installed at home and they match. I can ping both the dyndns and the IP of the office with no problems from home. Or does the firewall not allow vpn connections since it has the ability to host them itself.

Anyways, every time when I start up my computer and sign into my screen the internet connection does not seem to work right away. I thought first this was a problem with Google Chrome but then I tried other applications and it is the same thing. It takes about 30 seconds before I can get internet connection to do anything online even though down at the bottom right it says I am connected to the internet. The rest of the time I'm using the computer it's perfectly fine. It's only when I first start up the computer and sign into my screen. I don't know what's the problem so I'm hoping I can get an answer here from somebody.

The modem has wifi which I use.The modem stays online it's just that is loses its internet connection, I have had a technician over to see for him self, he didn't know what to do, he tried swapping the modem.
