Can't Connect To Internet After Fresh Install

I just recently got a new SSD, and I fresh installed windows 7 on it. I booted up, noticed that my internet connection would go from the red x to the swirly blue to say it was connecting, but back to the red x. I installed drivers from my MB CD just to get them on there, and I installed the LAN drivers that came with it. No luck.I go to Device Manager and see that it has my reltek LAN ethernet driver in there, NIC(NDIS 6.2) #3 So, then I checked the cable, I assumed this wasn't the issue, but just double checked. It worked in this laptop I'm using now. Then, I tried to window trouble shoot it. IT says a network cable is not properly plugged int(false, i tested the cable)It then says, Local Area Connection 2 doesn't' have a valid IP configuration.I went into CMD and typed /ipconfig release and renew I would get No operation can be performed on local area connection 2 while its has its media disconnected and An error occurred while renewing interfaces local area connection 2 : The operation was cancel by the used.

I am having trouble installing drivers for my ethernet controller. When I look in device manager, there is a yellow question mark next to Ethernet Controller (along with some other devices). I have identified that I have a Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet Controller (don't know the term for exactly what I am looking to find drivers for, is it just the "ethernet chip"? or "ethernet controller?"). It is a BCM5754 (VEN_14E4 DEV_167A). I am running Windows XP home sp3, which I updated to from sp1 via USB. How do I install drivers to get onto the internet?

I just did a fresh install of xp on a work computer(virus, nasty stuff), and now it will not connect to our office network. I've had to do this before, and we had an outside guy come in. He took two seconds in the cmd prompt and fixed it. I've reinstalled all the drivers and I did a network diagnostic. The only spot it's showing a fail is at the dnssearchorder

I have a compaq presario v2000 that i just installed windows 7 hope premium on (did a full hdd wipe, and reinstall windows)Windows 7 wireless connection manager can see all available wifi connections, but will not connect to any of them.Ive tried this on WPA2 networks, unsecured networks at several places (my office, wendy's, mcdonald's, my home, etc) i dont think it's the internal wifi card, as I could connect to those networks ok before the wipe/reload.I'm thinking it's a driver issue, but it's using the WHCL driver dated 2009 that is included in Windows 7, and I've not been able to find a more up-to-date one.device manager shows Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN, but not exact model number.Compaq support site has drivers for XP & Vista only, and the Vista driver page doesn't include wifi card drivers.

i was using windows 7 ultimate 64 before but i dont think thats relevant to the problem,after installation i found the correct drivers for my broadcom netlink gigabit ethernet controller and everything seemed to go fine but no connections are detected, it says 'unidentified network, no network access when i hover over the taskbar icon,when attempting to let windows resolve the problem i get the error,'local area connection doesen't have a valid ip configuration, all other computers on the network can connect no problem,im using a comtrend powerline 9020 wall plug with an ethernet cable to connect,and one last thing ive already looked for 'bonjour' in my services list and it does not exist on my system

I have just rebuilt our lms 4 server onto a newly built serve 2k8r2, from our old 2003 box.
The software is installed, and setup, however I cannot get it to add any devices to the inventory. Every device it trys to talk to is classed as unreachable.
I can telnet into each switches from the server, however the LMS software for some reason cant speak.

This printer is connected to our schools network...in the lab I'm in, we have different subnet and my tech computer and the lab pcs gets dhcp from router connected to same new network switch as printer. I can ping the printer and pull up menu in browser but cannot print.

I recently built a new computer and everything seemed to be fine but won't let me go onto the internet...I'm using an ethernet cable from the computer to the modem/router (a Netgear DGNB2100). The little tray icon next to the clock says I have "Internet access" but Internet Explorer won't load any web pages (it stays on "Website found. Waiting for reply..." or "Waiting for..." etc) and when I search for updates from Windows Updates it would just keep searching give me some error saying there are connection problems.I've tried everything I can find on the internet, like:-using the windows troubleshoot/diagnostics (which comes up with nothing)-made sure it is obtaining IP address and DNS server address automatically-made sure Internet Explorer is not using a proxy-reset the Internet Explorer setting-disable windows firewall-disable and re-enable the connection-power cycle the modem/restart the computer-reset winsock and TCP/IP-uninstall/reinstall drivers (drivers are up to date as well)none of them seem to change anything and maybe other things which I forgot

Computer got bad virus (the FBI one on the news) so after every attempt to eradicate it failed, I did a fresh install of Windows 7 onto the computer. However for some reason it won't even acknowledge that it has a Network Adapter. When I go to Driver Devices, there is no Network Adapter to even click on to see what the adapter is so I know what kind of driver to install.
So being an optimist I installed several drivers and nothing has worked. Its set on cable connection and I can't get it to acknowledge its wi-fi. I haven't tried plugging it straight into the modem yet. That's my next step.

I have a Dell XPS 8300 desktop. The desktop recently got a virus which caused me to completely reformat the computer. I thought the PC came with a drivers CD but either it did not or I cannot find one. Now that I installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 it will not connect to the internet. I have tried downloading all network drivers, bios drivers and making sure BIOS is enabled but still I am unable to connect to the internet.
What can I do to fix this problem or is there any place that I can purchase the actual drivers CD for my PC so that this does not happen again? I have gone to the drivers and downloads page, put my tag number in and literally downloaded every single driver listed and still it is giving me the "no connection detected" error.

I just reinstalled XP on my Dell inspiron 1100. Everything works good expect I can't connect wireless to the internet. I use my Ethernet cable and everything works great. The wireless setting say's I'm connected with excellent strength, also I have an IP address. I went to disk management and check for conflicts and noticed the PCI modem was yellow. I was told to disable it because I don't use a modem so it should not be a problem.

getting my computer connected to the internet.I have a fresh install of XP Media Center Edition with SP2. I don't really have anything else installed as I wanted to make sure my internet connection was working to get updates. We have a new install of an ASA5510. So far everything is working fine except the VPN.We went through the SSL VPN wizzard in ASDM and answered all questions.Now when we try to open a VPN connection to the ASA using the URL we first get a "There is a problem with this website's security certificate" message.When we click Continue to this website (not recommended) we get a "403-Forbidden: Access is Denied" message indicating that the credentials are invalid. We never even got to the logon screen so we don't even know what credentials it is talking about.

I recently inherited an old D630 laptop. I have just formatted the drive, and installed Windows XP (SP1, then upgraded to SP3) onto it. I have not been able to connect to my wireless network.I have downloaded and installed the drivers and installed in the recommended order. Issue is that I cannot get a dynamic IP address issued to me. It says I am on the network, but the only packets are outgoing. XP Pro SP2 New Install - No Internet Connection (Icon)I just did a full install of XP Pro SP2 on a new 3 TB drive. I have downloaded all the most recent drivers for this motherboard. I'm running an EVGA NForce 680i SLI Motherboard (model# 122-CK-NF68). However the problem Im having is that in the Network Connection window there is no 'icon' to configure for my ethernet connection. I have looked at the Device Manager and ALL components are working properly. There are no 'X' or '?' labelled on any of the Network devices. I have done a ton of research on this Forum and have tried a dozen things and still can't seem to figure it out. I dont have intermediate syndrome so I'm not willing to take any chances with something I don't know.

I bought a AE2500 adapter recently and attempted to install the Cisco Connect software. It gets to the point of connecting the device to the wireless, then crashes. I noticed that as I plugged the device in, it was recognised and activated without running the software at all; at the time of the software trying to connect the device, it's already connected.Just in case it was a matter of an old version of the driver and Cisco Connect software, I went online to the website and downloaded both the most recent driver and the latest version of Cisco Connect. The Cisco Connect crashed just like the version on the CD, and the driver said it was already the latest version and wouldn't install.So I tried the direct chat option. I spoke to two people. One of them lead me to give them a lot of information, then began asking me about my router... and promptly forgot about the adapter. They even had me on the path to resetting and installing software for the router I'm connected to, which isn't mine. Then the chat session crashed. why the Cisco Connect program keeps repeatedly crashing, and how I can stop it from doing so. As it stands, I think the adapter is overloading the memory on my computer and causing blue screens; I've been getting them ever since I connected the adapter. I think it might have something to do with my computer automatically detecting and activating the device when it's plugged in, but I'm not sure.

I did a re-install of my operating system the other day and im sure i messed up something because i deleted the whole parameter first or whatever its called then reinstalled with the CD that came with my laptop. this is an older model 5160 Inspiron Pentium 4.Everything seems to be working fine except that there is no wireless connection icon or anything of the kind now. I have looked and looked and the only icons to connect with are the local area connection - no wifi connect.

I'm running into the same problem. I'm trying to connect my 6100 Westell Modem as well, but I'm going through Cincinnati Bell Zoomtown. They sent me a disk & it does't have the right software on it. I was told to look online & have had no luck finding where to download. I have to use USB to connect. I'm at a loss at what to do. Just purchased the E4500 today and install failed on both machines. Install starts and then fails to finish.I have contacted support via chat and was given manual instructions and the router will not connect to either machine.Are there known issues with the Cisco Connect software not installing?
The chat support person finally dropped out of the chat and the router remains in an unusable state.I currently had to cable wired connection of laptop to get an internet connection.

I simply, can't install Cisco Connect. I want to because it has the parental controls and guest SSID controls. When I try to install, the progress bar get's to 25% and then stops - the next screen says "Our Customer Support team can help. Your router was not successfully setup." I reset the modem and have my computer plugged in to port 1 while I try to install the software. I have been able to setup the router manually. It works great. My issue is that I can't install Cisco Connect desktop software for Mac.
