Cisco Routers :: RV220W - How To Make Successful VPN Connection
Jan 16, 2012I'd like to enable client to router VPN connections. I have a question how to make any sucessful VPN connection to RV220W. From all the tests I made only SSL VPN on Windows XP x86 client machine was working.
For IPSec VPN I always receive this message: [rv220w][IKE] ERROR: Could not find configuration for XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX[500]. I tried with windows and shrewsoft vpn client.
Can't make SSL VPN to work in Windows 7 x64 client because the drivers are not digitally signed. It only works in Windows XP x86 but this is not acceptable. I need universal solution for win clients.
I also need working solution for Android Phone? Router firmware 1.0.3.5. I also tried this step by step guide. No go.

Oct 1, 2012I have setup a WAP321 with the captive portal activated.2 WLAN networks defined, one for the Normal-user and 1 Guest-user access (with captive portal).
The WAP Management is on its own vlan (vlan 1 ) , network 10.0.0.0 /24
The Normal network has a different vlan (vlan 14) , network 192.168.14.0/24
Guest user(s) are on VLAN143 , 172.16.10.0 /24
So when a guest connects to the wap, the management interface is opened (10.0.0.x), after successful authentication the user is redirected to a predefined site.What i would like to establish is to make it impossible for the Guest-user(s) to access the management portal.
Defining an acl on the management portal is not possible as i would like to use any ip adres on the Normal Network (192.168.14.0/24). Unfortunately you can only define 5 Fixed ipaddresses and not a (sub)-network.

I have supplied the correct username and password. The connection is ok in my laptop if i directly connect my laptop to the Ethernet port of the modem without the router. Is this a sharing problem from the ISP?

Cisco VPN :: ASA 5505 - AnyConnect Successful But Can't Remote Desktop
May 9, 2013unable to remote desktop into any of the LAN PCs when I'm connected through the VPN. I can ping all nodes inside the network and I can open an inside addressed web page from my local PC, as well. So, it seems like it's only RDP (3389) that is affected. Remote access to those PCs are enabled, as I'm able to get to them via a different method (SBS Remote Web Access).

Mar 7, 2012I have a ticket active with Cisco TACS Support but after 3 days and a complete uninstall and reinstall I am getting nowhere. I cannot let TACS into the server and I cannot post unsanitized logs for security reasons.I installed LMS 4.0 with the Win2K8 patch on Win2K8R2 64 bit server. No problems during a 2nd install (first one was completely removed per TACS). Checked all Windows event logs and windows firewall log. AV disabled. No other roles installed accept IIS (disabled) and DHCP (active). Ports are default HTTP: 1741 and SSL: 443.load site from server (IE 8) or workstation (IE 7) cookies enabled, and login with "admin" and the proper password and each browser quickly loads a blank page with this URL:

Nov 14, 2012I have an Asus Windows 7 laptop with an Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter. I am trying to access a student communal network (IT support is sadly none-existent) which means I cannot perform tests on the router, but can confirm that my girlfriend can connect with a Macbook in the same room as me, and that other Windows users can too in other areas. I can connect via ethernet into the wall (although not 100% sure this is the exactly the same network) and I can connect to other unrelated wireless networks with no problem. Up until a couple of days ago I was able to connect, but have not done any windows updates that might have changed my settings. When attempting to connect my computer tells me (often, not always) I have "Internet access" under "IPv4 Connectivity", but the browser does nothing (or, sometimes, will struggle and load one webpage, only to fade into uselessness again immediately afterwards - very much a tease of a connection).
1) Disabled various firewalls/antivirus [Microsoft Security Essentials, Windows Firewall, AVG] (perhaps worth saying I have never had Nortons, McAfee or any other anti-virus installed on this laptop)
2) Reset Network Adaptor using Windows Diagnostics Tool.
3) Updated the driver by searching automatically for drivers in Device Manager.
4) Removed and Renewed the Network in "manage wireless network".
5) In Wireless Connection Properties > Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) made sure both Ip address and DNS address are set to "obtain automatically" [nb: Internet Protocol Version 6 has the same settings)
6) WIthout remotely understanding what I am doing have typed the following into CMD in this order: ipconfig/release,ipconfig/flushdns, ipconfig/renew [for the latter this message is given "An error occurred while renewing interface Wireless Network Connection: unable to contact your DHCP server. Request has timed out."Beyond that, I'm basically out of ideas. Something is clearly not quite right, and yet I can connect wireless to other networks (my mobile phone on 3g emitting a dodgy wireless signal no less).
Here is the ipconfig/all information [being security conscious and ignorant, I have blanked out the ip, and the final bits of the physical address, as well as the connection specific DNS suffix]

If I ping [URL] it either says [currently unable to recreate this] "Unable to reach destination server" for all attempts, or, as currently "ping request could not find host [URL] I notice that it says in Ipconfig/all that DCHP is not enabled. I am sure this was not the case before, when the problem did not exist. When I connect to other wifi networks DCHP is enabled. I have double-checked wireless properties are set to obtain IP address and DNS address automatically. They are at all times (and I have rebooted) - no change to ipconfig/all.
Wireless Connection Working But No Internet Access
Apr 20, 2011Basically both the wireless connection and LAN connection in my house were working fine until a couple of days ago. I got one of those viruses that redirects all the links that you go on to random websites on the main PC. I ran a full scan with McAfee Antivirus Plus and it came up with nothing. My brother suggested i try downloading malwarebytes on my laptop and installing it on the PC to get rid of it. Malwarebytes picked up the virus and got rid of it. I restarted the computer and when i tried to access the internet on the PC the message on the browser says "Could not connect". My wireless is fine, but the wired connection to the PC is not. When i look at it on the PC it says that it is connected but the browsers show no connection.

But, all of the sudden today, I couldn't get Internet Access despite trying both an ethernet port and a wireless connection (connectivity was working.) I know it's something with the laptop, because my ASUS netbook has no problem accessing the internet. I've tried looking around at some of these tech support sites and haven't really found anything that's worked for me. I've tried using CCleaner to remove any temp files and clean the registry, and resetting internet settings in the command box, but still I get nothing.

- neither the LAN connection or the wireless connction will access the internet through Internet Explorer
- microsoft email will not send and recieve
- Steam will not connect
- Norton 360 will connect to live update and download
- taskbar icon shows LAN connection is OK
- When I open Network and Sharing, the network map shows this pc is connected to internet through named network.
- Local Area Connection Status show 197,816 bytes sent and 311,088 recieved.
We have 2 laptops connected to the same wireless network working perfectly. There is also another desktop (Dell 8400) with a LAN connection to the router working perfectly. The affected pc (HP m9150f) is also connected to router with a LAN connection. The D-link Dir-615 wireless router is connected to a Shaw Motorolla modem model SB5102. The HP m9150f stopped connecting a few days ago, other than that, it worked fine.how I managed to get 4 computers running on a network in the first place..
Wireless Connection But No Internet Access Until Warmed Up?
Jan 1, 2013A few months ago, my family moved to a new apartment, and here we have AT&T U-verse internet connection and the router that AT&T provided; none of our computers have wired connections to it, because that would require stringing the network cables over doorways and/or across the ceiling. However, my parents' computers have had trouble getting internet access until they're warmed up - the system tray icons will indicate they have network connection, but when they try to visit an internet site (even Google), Firefox will say it can't find the server. Once one of their computers has been on for a while (I haven't timed it, but it seems like more than 5 minutes needed, and probably not more than 30), the internet works fine on that computer. I saw this for myself on my mom's computer this morning. I previously set DNS servers to 8.8.8.8 (Google's DNS) and 156.154.70.1 (DNSadvantage), but that apparently hasn't resolved the issue. Dad says he wasn't having trouble with this under Ubuntu, but now that I switched him to Windows 7, it has been happening on his computer as well.
In my room, I've got a desktop PC with a Rosewill RNX-N150HG usb wifi adapter, a Mac Mini (built-in wifi), a 2005 laptop PC (built-in wifi), and several gaming consoles, and haven't seen this issue on any of them.My mom's computer is running Windows XP and has a ECS 945 GCT-M motherboard connected to a Cisco wireless bridge as well as a Rosewill RNX-N150HG usb wifi adapter. My dad's computer was changed from Ubuntu to Windows 7 and has a motherboard that was pulled out of a Gateway GT5676 connected to the same wireless bridge (which we bought because we couldn't get Ubuntu drivers for the usb wifi adapter).I'm hesitant to get a powerline network adapter, because I think the pair I used for a while in our previous apartment was responsible for the death of a router (the router started only acting as a hub, and iirc wasn't accessible when I visited its ip address).

But the same connection is working fine on other laptop. Aug 29, 2012I have a DIR-655 set up as follows: [code] Lost Internet Access on my DAP-1522 on only my wireless laptop connection, but not other wireless nodes on the DAP-1522.I have most of my wireless nodes attached to the DIR-655, which is upstairs. Downstairs is where the DAP-1522 is located. There is a wired connection between the DIR-655 and DAP-1522. The DAP-1522 is being used as a Access Point. On this I have only three nodes that are wireless. My Smartphone, iPad and my laptop. There are also three nodes that are using the wired ports with no issue accessing the internet. The setup above have being working for over two years with no issue. Then three days ago my laptop connects to the DAP-1522, but has "No Internet Access." If I change my wireless connection to the DIR-655 on my laptop, then I do have internet connection. My Smartphone and iPad still are able to access the DAP-1522 and get the internet.
I have deleted my DHCP Reservation for only my laptop on the DIR-655. Wireless connection to the DAP-1522, looked at the DIR-655 and see that DHCP Reservation show the MAC of the laptop and I Reserve it. Still "No Internet Access." On the DAP-1522 it does show that my laptop is associated to this device. I cannot ping my local LAN IP Addresses , a website or Public IP Address only from the laptop. The DIR-655 shows a "Do Not Enter: Wireless system with MAC address 4025C2B97110 disconnected for reason: Received Deauthentication" with a connection to the DAP-1522, but shows "Do Not Enter: Wireless system with MAC address 4025C2B97110 secured and linked" with a connection to the DIR-655.

The internet here is Local Are Connection, the one with the cable, and it says I am connected, 100 Mbps, but no internet access! I can't browse or open anything that has to do with the internet... However, It works perfectly fine on EVERY other laptop. I've searched a lot of places and I've been told to write commands like ipconfig/ all andd netsh int ip reset.log but when I do that I get "The following command was not found : int ip reset.log" I set the properties in TCP/IP to Automatically detect settings .. but nothing.

Either i get disconnected, limited access or no internet access statuses every other hour or not at all. Its intermittent which makes it impossible to explain to the internet provider. The main error that comes up when windows diagnoses is "DNS connection error". Now the internet provider has shown me how to manually set the router to use specific DNS's and that still did nothing.

But when I use my browsers to surf, I can have periodic moments when I cannot surf the internet, such as IE9 which says that I cannot connect to the internet due to some unknown error. But when I run diagnostics, it says that I do not have any errors. My adapter for my wired is the Atheros AR8151 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20). I have already contacted my ISP provider who have worked for with all the troubleshooting methods they can over the phone, and I trust that they are doing their best. But now it seems to me that the problem lies in my computer hardware or software and not in my router.
