Is it possible to configure 2 wireless cards in one computer in order to connect to 2 wireless networks at the same time? Windows XP Pro SP3
I haven't tried the config yet but I'm curious how WZC will distinct between the two cards.
I have a laptop connected to an home router through its built in wireless card. It has checked the "share internet conexion" option. I can browse on internet with this laptop.The same laptop have another usb wireless card configured as ad hoc with the other(s) computer. This second computer is communicating with the first one, but the router does not answer the ping call (and I cannot browse on Internet with this computer either).

I checked on Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test and it gives me 0.20 mbps it is not going to the max my max is 3.00 mbps it is not the wireless usb adapter because i checked on another computer and it went to the max 3.00 mbps and i putted it in the same location as my computer so than i realised that it was my computer that is giving slow download speed and it can't find much connections.

The machine only stays off off for 5-10 seconds at a time. I think this is because instead of waking from only a magic packet, it is waking from ANY packet.
I've just moved my desktop computer back to my parents house. there is an Internet connection in the house already. if I plug the cable into my laptop it works instantly. when I plug into the desktop there is nothing the green light turns on at the back of the tower but otherwise the computer doesn't register anything at all.

I have used various torrent clients and problem remains.I have the latest drivers Realtek 8168 v 7065 . Some suggested to turn Checksumms off from the property menu , but that would increase my CPU load. Some other suggested to turn off Task Offload , but I cant find anything similar in Properties.

I have 3 computers wired to a Netgear R6300. Two of those computers (both running XP SP 3) I added new LAN Gigabit Cards (Tenda TEL9901G) . One recognized the card right away and had no issue connecting to the Internet (using this computer now). The other shows a 1.0 Gbps connection but I can not get any web pages to come up. I can access other computers and devices on the network without an issue on the computer that doesn't connect to the Internet.
If I type in the web address it says "Server Not Found." If I type in the IP address it will come up with the name of the site in the address bar but it still says "Server Not Found." I've tried several times to unplug the router and modem (Motorola Surfboard) and restart everything but the problem was still there. Also, I tried other Ethernet cables and no change. The LAN card drivers are up to date but I don't think the card is the issue since I swapped the new cards (to see if the card was the problem) and it does show a 1.0 Gbps connection. Also, tried uninstall/reinstall, disable/enable the card many times.I didn't change any setting in the router after installing the cards.Here is the ipconfig output:

I have a G router, linksys. I am trying to configure a TiVo N adapter to this router. I have connected the adapter, via an either net connection, to my computer. I have taken the computer off my wireless network. I have opened Explorer and entered the address of the adapter per the TiVo instruction manual. There is supposed to be a setup wizard in the adapter that will start and take me thru the setup of the adapter to my network.

It seems that my computer gets assigned a temporary ip automatically and then there will be times when I get "kicked out" and my computer doesn't get connected to the internet. Sometimes for few minutes and sometimes for hours.

The maximum number of dhcp users was changed from 50 to 100 by me. IDK if that means that I can assign a static ip from 1 to 100 but say I pick a number 160 so the ip would be xxx.xxx.x.160.

I am with Virgin media (UK) and have the 20mbps fiber optic connection. My area has recently been having problems with the broadband and Virgin has recently fixed these problems. However I used to get around 19mbps now that the problem is fixed my computer which is wired to the router gets about 0.4mbps downstream... However the 5 wireless computers all get 16mbps which is pretty good for them. Windows tells me that its a firewall issue and I currently can't use two programs, spotify and steam. They both have firewall issues, even if I turn off my firewall which is the windows one. I also have avast, and when I turn that off, still no good. I used OpenDNS, stopped using that flushed my DNS, that didnt work. I tried to optimize my computer settings, by changing various values in Regedit.All of this has done nothing. I should add that I have recently re-installed Windows 7 so on this fresh install it has never had decent internet speed. Which I thought was weird.. I have basically had these problems since the fresh install. All of my drivers are up to date.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have attached screen prints in various formats.The machine is a PB Easynote TM01 laptop running Win 7, using built in wireless and for some time I have been exeriencing hit and miss internet/network wireless connections.With my limited knowledge I have managed to identify that two of the network adapters are not showing in Device Mnaager when there is NO connection but are showing when there IS a connection.I think this indicates a faulty (or knackered) network adapter.I now have no connection whatsoever and haven't for about a week.I have plugged the machine into the modem now and internet is fine, but what is the point of having a laptop that can't sit on your lap when it is plugged in.

Yesterday, she noticed it wasn't working even though the switch was "on", but was able to use Fn+F2 to enable it. Today, neither will work. It simply won't turn on.Ethernet works fine when connected directly to the router. View 8 Replies View RelatedI thought i would clever and make an extension from my Virgin Superhub via Ethernet to a second pc that is currently using Wireless to improve speed.The amazing thing is the ethernet cable I made up actually seems to work but only when my wireless connection is on. If I disable my wireless to use just the ethernet I get no connection showing!If I click on properties it shows I am connected at 100mbps but I presume this is just the connection between the Hub and the pc although my Internet connection dialog also shows 100mbps.In the Services dialog I can add services which I presume would give me access.I have my ip address but do not know the name of the service I should be running (DCHP?) or the Port numbers.In addition to this there doesn't seem to be a network card appearing in device manager other than the wireless dongle.

Local connection via cable is OK (broadcom netxtreme gigabit ethernet) but there isn't wireless connectivity. I downloaded all the wireless drivers, but still HP wireless assistant offers only Bluetooth connection and there isn't a wireless card on the device manager list.
Some time ago, as I formatted my previous drive and downloaded the same drivers from HP homepage, the wireless connection worked like a charm
