View 1 RepliesI have webcams that need port 8081 opened and I did that, everything worked fine until my DIR655 jammed up and power cycling it and the modem 3-4 times DID not make it work: no internet access and it was definitely a DIR655 problem. So, out with the paperclip to do the big reset, causing me to lose my configuration. When "most" of it came back up with my new config (I had screen prints), all was okay EXCEPT the webcams. Addresses and ports were all configured properly, address was fixed too on the client computer rather than use DHCP. I had a DNS relocation service running (DYNDNS) for the WAN side, but that address (My IP) didn't change either. I tried EVERYTHING. Finally, I realized in all my screwing around that I had enabled UPnP in my application, something I hadn't done before, but did this time as a desperation move. UPnP had always been checked off in the router. So.....I REMOVED my port forwarding and virtual server settings (either one worked before), and voila, everything working, Is this a normal occurrence, that if you have UPnP running, that this auto configuration overrides any manual configuration?

When I am unable to connect, and I use command ipconfig, the following appears: Autoconfiguration IPv4 169.254.23.29 On the occasions when I am connected, the following appears in its place: IPv4 IP Address: 192.168.0.2
One tip that I came across was to check the box (Wireless Network properties, Connection tab) for "Connect even if the network is not broadcasting". I had hoped this simple solution would assist, but to no avail.
Last two weeks, I have had a problem connecting to public hotspots. My own WiFi network is fine, but while I am connected to any public hotspot I get the 'no internet access' message on the wifi symbol.While connected to my own network, ipconfig/all shows that I have an Autoconfiguration IPv4 address in the (correct) 192 range - but when connected to a hotspot, the address is in the 169 range, or occasionally (as in the instance below) in the 10 range. Clearly this is the problem, but I cannot figure out what has caused it. Is it hardware? Software? Malware? Or user error?I have run the Wireless Test and the log results are pasted below.

I am not able to access internet on more than one computers simultaneously because router allows only single IP and I am not sure what are the WAN IP's uses Access Point provided by ISP eg. IP, Gateway and DNS. My ISP provides me static IP address for home computer as mentioned below :

View 5 Replies View RelatedIn my office environment, my machine is configured with an IP address, Subnet Mask and a Default Gateway. The Default Gateway does not allow internet connectivity but is configured to provide us with connectivity to some server based tool.
Now in order to provide us with the internet access, a proxy server is configured via the LAN settings in the IE. The problem here is the Proxy is restricted for some sites that I need like certain technical blogs and all, which it filters out in the blogs category and does not load.
I do have another Gateway server address that I can use in Local Area Connection IPv4 Properties as Default Gateway address which removes this restriction. I thought that this should be configurable to the LAN Settings as a proxy as well. But when I do so, I lose the connection to the internet.
I am not sure if all Gateways can act as proxy servers. Or is there anything that I am doing wrong. I am using the default port 8080 in LAN Settings.I can ask this from the technician but I am not sure if he would be able to answer that as he is just a first level guy. I thought of figuring it out myself.
Wireless service on Dell laptop computer had been running fine for 4.5 months until underground Comcast cable failed, presumably due to freezing and thawing in cold New England soil. All Comcast service went out, TV, Internet cable modem, etc. Service was restored with above ground cable, and wireless service returned to other devices in household, but not the Dell laptop. I am wondering if my wireless card itself was damaged in the event, as no software fixes I have tried have worked. However, the device manager says the Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-card is working properly and the driver software for the service is up to date.

I configured Auto QoS on some access ports on two 4506-E (Sup 6E-L) and I wanted to apply the same generated config on the port channel/port channel members but it didn't work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have a pair of ACS 4.1 servers (Windows Server 2003 R2). Let's call them ACS1 and ACS2. We don't want either one of them to proxy to any AAA server, including each other. We're using mostly TACACS authentication.
While troubleshooting a general problem, I'm guessing that one of us did this on ACS1:
pressed the Network Configuration button,saw the Proxy Distribution Tableclicked (Default)moved ACS1 from the AAA Servers column to the Forward To column.
So, essentially, we're telling ACS1 to proxy all requests to itself, which doesn't seem to make sense. I don't know for sure whether it should work when configured to "self proxy," but in that state, it does not authenticate anyone and gives merely "Internal error" as the reason.
If I change the configuration so that "ACS2" appears in the Forward To column, and I move "ACS1" back to AAA Servers and restart, ACS1 starts responding correctly to TACACS requests. Of course, ACS1 is just proxying all requests to ACS2, so having two servers isn't doing much good.
I cannot simply remove ACS1 from the Forward To column and leave it empty. The interface complains that it can't forward to zero servers. Of course, on ACS2, there are no servers in the Forward To column, since we never touched the Proxy Distribution Table there.
Is there any way to return the Proxy Distribution Table to its default setup, that is, no servers appear in the "Forward To" column?
We're planning to upgrade to version 4.2 very soon, so this question is mostly academic, unless the same problem exists in 4.2.
For full disclosure, I should mention that the problem we were troubleshooting was loss of connectivity to our Windows Domain Controllers from our ACS servers. We had missed adding some exceptions in our firewalls to allow for four new DCs. As far as we can tell from testing, connectivity to the DCs is now fine. The firewall rules group ACS1 and ACS2 together, so connectivity should be the same, and ACS2 authenticates users correctly.
Whenever I try to use Firefox, no matter what website I try to go to, I get the message that firefox can't connect to the server. Whenever I try to go on safari, I get the message that it can't connect to the internet. However, when I use Opera, everything works fine, so it's not something wrong with my internet. At the same time, the website omegle stopped working for me, I don't know if this is related. When I open firefox, I also get the message "TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined". I don't know what that means, but it's probably involved.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI access the internet from my company�s LAN, which has a restrictive firewall, so I cannot request the admin to open any ports manually for me. Hence I use a software called your-freedom. This proxy software supports both http as well as socks 4 and 5 proxy (by entering the proxy IP 127.0.0.1 (localhost) and Port 8080 for http proxy OR 1080 for Socks Proxy), and I have successfully been using web browsers and some other softwares that support proxy/ allow proxy info to be entered to login/ connect to the internet. Your-Freedom also supports port forwarding.However, the softwares I intend to use do not have any options to enter proxy methods or proxy ports (as far as I have noticed). I have tried to proxify these 2 softwares using softwares such as SocksCap and Free Cap, but either they don�t work, or my settings in proxifying are not correct. I believe I will have to do port forwarding or proxify the softwares, but have been unable to do so in the correct manner.
Following is the info on the 2 softwares:

I will setup the user account/password information via Cisco ACS and User Identity and Hosts. I know from the WLC 5508 web admin tool that I can choose 802.1x in the security parameters. I only have a few question. We have two wireless networks, one is wide open and provides internet access, the other will provide internal access for select users. I am setting up 802.1x on the internal wireless lan. Do I need to configure any 802.1 configuration commands on the switch in order for this to work, if so where would be the locations to do this at? Also, if there is a MAC isolation configuration option I can configure to not allow other hosts on this specific wireless network to communicate with each other?

TCP/IP auto obtain IP address does not work (LAN status is 'limited or no connectivity'), entered static ip/dns, then LAN status is 'connected'. However, can't access internet (...DNS lookup failed...). After several calls over 5 hours w/ tech support, now only works using a manual broadband connection when cable physically connects modem and pc. Tried once to add wireless router(reset modem, connect and cold boot all 3 devices...) while the tech supporter was on phone, but broadband connection won't work any more. So the service rep said I had connection and could access internet, the router is not his issue.Is this the new modem problem or the provider server issue. I have had SBC DSL for years before swith to the new provider, everything worked fine. I also tried cable connect to a different laptop, got the same problem. Both PCs can still connect to my neibauer's wireless router no problem.
