Sep 24, 2011I have a Packard Bell mx37 easynote laptop and i have recently installed vista after using Ubuntu. But now I cant connect to any wireless networks? When I click on the connect to a network in the bottom corner the box does not show scanned networks, all that rads is "Windows cannot find any networks" (the router is will in range (~2m)) then when i click "diagnose why I cant find any networks" it tells me that the "network adapter is not installed and configured"

May 26, 2012Packard bell alp ajaxc3 notebook has suddenly lost wireless,it has been working for about 18 months with no problems,the system is windows 7.first tried system restore about three times,no luck the toolbar shows the icon with a red cross but check the device manager and it shows the atheros adapter as working properly.tried ip config and it says everything is disconnected and the adapter as switched off.there is no external switch and I can't find any info on the net as to a software switch.the router is ok because my granddaughter dell works ok and I have two others with wired connects.even tried a windows repair via the install disc without luck,tried another adapter which it recognized and installed with the same result have been through the forum and tried everything that remotely resembled my problem,same result.

May 5, 2012I turned on my Netbook (Packard Bell NAV50, Windows 7) the other day and it would not connect to the internet. Not only won't it connect, but I can't even find any wireless networks, the icon in the bottom right just has a red cross. I'm currently using another laptop which can detect the network and next doors too so it is not a problem with the router. My PS3, phone, iPod etc also all connect fine. I've checked the fn f2 thing and that is definately on and working. Also when i click on "change adapter settings" in "network and sharing centre", it is there and is enabled and has the full green symbol icon but also has a red cross.

Oct 7, 2011My wife's Packard Bell EasyNote AJ300 has been working wirelessly from the same place for a couple of years. Now the task bar icon shows no handshake with the Netgear DG834G router 4 times out of 5 attempts. It seems to work if moved to the same room. On line issues (BTinternet) with my ethernet connected pc meant resetting and changing the router config. under instructions from Netgear support but that did not seem to affect the laptop at the time (6 weeks ago) (BT reset something in the exchange which fixed the fault) The laptop has not been used much till recently so there may be a connection.

Feb 15, 2011I have a Packard bell easynote R1938, which the motherboard died I bought one from ebay and stripped down the laptop to install the new board.It all went well Laptop back in a running state apart from the WIFI, the card is back in its original place and being detected by WIN XP. The problem is that the card status is 'WIFI is turned off use hardware switch to turn back on', now I know the hardware switch is tied into the keyboard under FN + F1 but it does not control the WIFI.I am wondering if there is any other way of turning on the WIFI?? or if the problem is one of drivers needed for the hardware switch as I do know there is an unknown item in the device manager but I couldn't find any drivers for the unknown.

After that, the router behaved strangely, wouldn't connect, etc., so I upgraded to the latest firmware, did a bunch of hold-the-reset-button-for-30-seconds resets, etc., and it seems to be working again.BUT.... the download speeds are very slow, both over wireless and through a wired connection to one of the router's ports. I'm gettting anywhere from 60kbps to 400kbps, but it's been hovering around the 100-200kbps range. Upload speeds are fine, nearly matching those over a direct DSL modem connection.

Jun 29, 2011A couple weeks ago every device on my wireless network started disconnecting from the internet in unison and seemingly at random and then reconnecting. The time between these disconnects varied anywhere between almost immediately after regaining a connection and three to four hours later. As things stand I have a SpeedStream 5200 modem running into a D-Link DIR-655 wireless router. I have had no problems with internet connectivity up until this point. During each disconnect, every device remains connected to the router. I've called Bell and they claim there is no issue with the modem. To test their theory, I bypassed the router altogether, and attempted to connect through an ethernet cable, but to no avail, as the now hardwired device continued to get disconnected. These failures seem to be occurring between noon and 10 p.m. and to be honest I'm amazed that one has not cut this post short.

I got the HP Officejet 6600 and successfully connected it to the network at home. I managed to connect the home desktop (Windows 7), a laptop (Windows 7) and a Macbook Pro. These are all the personal ones.However, when I tried to install the the HP Officejet 6600 on the work laptop, the installation wasn't able to find the printer on the home network when doing it wirelessly. I managed to install it the USB cable but that was about it.Also, when trying to install it wirelessly, it found our home network, couldn't find the printer so it prompted me to type in the IP address for the printer, which I did, however, it still wasn't able to find it. The work laptop is connected to the home wireless in the network connections and the American Express server.Is there a way to get around this issue so I can connect the laptop to the printer wirelessly as it would make life a LOT easier.
Nas 2008 Server To Bell Modem To Share With Another Network?
Jan 14, 2013i am setting up a windows server 2008 to be used as a nas on my bell modem network that my pc is also on. the bell modem is then connected to a dlink 655 router by lan on the bell modem to wan on the dlink. the dlink is used for wireless connections to the laptops in the house. my problem is that the laptops cant see my nas but have access to the internet. should i switch my program for the nas from windows server 2008 to something like free nas or can i change setting in my router and modam?

May 30, 2011I have cable internet with a wireless router. My home computer/internet works fine My second computer connected via wireless was recently infected with a virus and I had to do a complete system restore. Since doing that, I cannot establish a connection. My computer can find the wireless connections and the wireless network connection shows enabled show that it but no IP address. If I repair, I get the error message "TCP/IP is not enabled". I tried enabling, reinstalling, I have tried every suggestion on this topic that I have found in other forums (running command, etc).
