I fiddled with the configure screens using the admin/admin id/password and using the settings from the modem I was given from YAK I now have the SpeedStream 6250 working! If you enter in all the addresses into the various locations the modem will work. Even though it's the Bell interface"

He's po'd that he's paying $92 a month for service that doesn't work. I told him he needed a new DSL modem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to add my Hisense LED42T18GP to my home Siemans Gigaset SE568 WAN. The TV has two modes of setting up access to the Network Neighbourhood DHCP IP (AUTO) and Fix IP (Manual) I can't get either to connect and I suspect I have to change something on the Router.When I select auto setup I get "On: DHCP not ready!" when I set the fixed IP I get "On: Can't get any IP" The TV handbook is no goog, there are 3 things to be set 1) IP address but it does not say IP address of what - Router, Desktop computer or TV. 2) Network mask is no problem. 3) default gateway does not specipy if this should be the IP address of the Router, WAN or desktop computer. I have tried every combination of each and always get the same result. The router has Full internet Gateway Device IGD support enabled.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had windstreams modem "speedstream 4200" but parents for whatever reason thought the 4300 would change everything. With the 4200 I was open for gaming, could connect. With this 4300 I can't connect to anyone at all. I disabled DHCP server in my rotuer and that aving more fails than succeeds. (in connecting to people).My router doesn't have bridge mode but my modem does, I don't know what it does in the modem. My friend had the exact same problem I did and he put his router in bridge mode which I do not.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to hook up a Siemens Speedstream 4100 and a Linksys E2500. The internet works fine when I plug the modem directly into the computer. When I try to run it through the router, though, the router install appears to work right but I get a message saying that my internet connection might not be working. I power-cycled everything - unplugged all the cords and waited 20 minutes before restarting. It sounds like putting my modem in bridge mode might be the move? When I type in 192.168.0.1, I get a message that says "Server says: Linksys E2500." It also wants login information, and I'm not sure what that would be.
View 4 Replies View RelatedA couple weeks ago every device on my wireless network started disconnecting from the internet in unison and seemingly at random and then reconnecting. The time between these disconnects varied anywhere between almost immediately after regaining a connection and three to four hours later. As things stand I have a SpeedStream 5200 modem running into a D-Link DIR-655 wireless router. I have had no problems with internet connectivity up until this point. During each disconnect, every device remains connected to the router. I've called Bell and they claim there is no issue with the modem. To test their theory, I bypassed the router altogether, and attempted to connect through an ethernet cable, but to no avail, as the now hardwired device continued to get disconnected. These failures seem to be occurring between noon and 10 p.m. and to be honest I'm amazed that one has not cut this post short.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI turned on my Netbook (Packard Bell NAV50, Windows 7) the other day and it would not connect to the internet. Not only won't it connect, but I can't even find any wireless networks, the icon in the bottom right just has a red cross. I'm currently using another laptop which can detect the network and next doors too so it is not a problem with the router. My PS3, phone, iPod etc also all connect fine. I've checked the fn f2 thing and that is definately on and working. Also when i click on "change adapter settings" in "network and sharing centre", it is there and is enabled and has the full green symbol icon but also has a red cross.

Now the task bar icon shows no handshake with the Netgear DG834G router 4 times out of 5 attempts. It seems to work if moved to the same room. On line issues (BTinternet) with my ethernet connected pc meant resetting and changing the router config. under instructions from Netgear support but that did not seem to affect the laptop at the time (6 weeks ago) (BT reset something in the exchange which fixed the fault) The laptop has not been used much till recently so there may be a connection.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi am setting up a windows server 2008 to be used as a nas on my bell modem network that my pc is also on. the bell modem is then connected to a dlink 655 router by lan on the bell modem to wan on the dlink. the dlink is used for wireless connections to the laptops in the house. my problem is that the laptops cant see my nas but have access to the internet. should i switch my program for the nas from windows server 2008 to something like free nas or can i change setting in my router and modam?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Packard bell easynote R1938, which the motherboard died I bought one from ebay and stripped down the laptop to install the new board.It all went well Laptop back in a running state apart from the WIFI, the card is back in its original place and being detected by WIN XP. The problem is that the card status is 'WIFI is turned off use hardware switch to turn back on', now I know the hardware switch is tied into the keyboard under FN + F1 but it does not control the WIFI.I am wondering if there is any other way of turning on the WIFI?? or if the problem is one of drivers needed for the hardware switch as I do know there is an unknown item in the device manager but I couldn't find any drivers for the unknown.

After that, the router behaved strangely, wouldn't connect, etc., so I upgraded to the latest firmware, did a bunch of hold-the-reset-button-for-30-seconds resets, etc., and it seems to be working again.BUT.... the download speeds are very slow, both over wireless and through a wired connection to one of the router's ports. I'm gettting anywhere from 60kbps to 400kbps, but it's been hovering around the 100-200kbps range. Upload speeds are fine, nearly matching those over a direct DSL modem connection.
