View 1 RepliesI have an HP Pavilion TX-1000 Entertainment PC that is really frustrating me. It will not connect to my wireless router. I have had this laptop for at least 3 years and it connects to any other wireless connection I've ever tried ( at my sons with Cox, every airport, overseas, and with my previous Qwest routers ). Since I moved and now have a Qwest PK5000Z router this laptop will not connect. The error message I get is " The network security key is incorrect ", but it's not of course. All other laptops I've used here connect successfully, Dell, Mac, Toshiba, etc.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows Vista and we recently got a new wireless router to work with our Blu-Ray player. The desktop works, but not the laptop. I can connect to the local network, but not the internet. The laptop worked before we got the new router, and it works on another network. Our new router is a Netgear WNR-1000 v3. I get a response when I ping 127.0.0.1.

I can't connect to the internet and when Iook at the network adapters it only shoes the Broadcom 440x 10/100 intergrated controller.. My modem is only showing Conexant HDA D330 MDC v.92 modem.
I had the internal wireless with my laptop when it was given to me as a gift... and have been able to connect via wifi, etc.. but since reloading the O/S and all drivers, etc.. I don't have internet? Can't find this wireless connection?
Understand they are using dfferent cat cable. Does Cisco equipment nromally all are 1000-T, how to check they are 1000-T or 1000-Tx, does cat 5 with 4 pairs already support GE speed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI also am using a Dell Inspiron N5010 with Windows 7 and have trouble connecting to Netgear WNR 1000. I have an Apple that has no trouble making that connection. I have spent over $100 to a local computer repair company trying unsuccessfully trying to fix the problem and $129 to Dell Technical Services with equal lack of success and then was told by a technical support person that they had fixed it, that they would not provide futher work to fix it. The fact is that the error occurred again immediately the moment the Dell technician hung up. I spent the following day just running internet on a cable connection for about 8 hoooting.ble shurs trouble free and then switched it to wireless, which failed in about 10 minutes as my own troubleshooting. This made it clear to me that the problem was only in the wireless connection.
They problem is the Blue Screen error time message that pops up at random times any time the computer is operating on wireless. At other timerred again immediatelyre occuthe failuat s it operates normally. The Blue screen error causes the computer to shut down and restart. The only solution I have found is to return the Netgear router to the store where I bought it (within 30 days of purchase) and pay the additional cost of a different router.
Service personell should at least be kept aware or incompatibilites, explained or unexplained, between particular router models and particular computer models so as to save this waste of time and money. I have lost about 3 weeks of useful time on this computer in addition to over $200 in direct costs attempting to find a fix.
Im having a horrible problem with my internet connection where I cannot use any kind of download site such as filefront or anything really. The main problem is once a download gets going (any filesize above 1MB) the connection will stall out and stop downloading until the server says cannot download or if available, i pause and start the download again. Its very frustrating having to babysit downloads or be unable to even complete one ,My router is a netgear N150 WNR 1000.

1) Can I just use the same upgrade procedure for ASR-1000 and ASR-1002F shelves?
2) I could not find the detailed explanations of the "show platform" command output... And I'm afraid we did something wrong with our two first upgrades since I do no have 15.0(1)S mentioned in the three last lines of the output (0, R0,F0)?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Realtek PCI GBE Family Controller. I recently reinstalled Win7 and it loaded drivers for the card automatically. I actually didn't notice the speed issue until I went to move stuff around on the home network.
The Device Manager lists the above NIC. Under Properties I have:
Auto Disable Gigabit = Disabled
Speed & Duplex = Auto Negotiate
I tried setting Speed & Duplex to 1.0 Gbps Full Duplex but I only interrupted a file transfer by doing this. (The Network icon in the System Tray indicated that the network connection was lost.)
I am using Cat5E 1 Meter or less cables. I have 2 PCS next to my desk with a D-Link Gigabit Switch sitting on top of one of the computers. AFAIK all ports on the switch support Gigabit.
Does the ASR-1000 accept an HWIC module, or must one go to a SIP/SPA for all modules?

For ASR1000 to support 4M routes, RP2 must be used.
1) RP2 need to have 16GB memory in order to support 4M routes?
2) Need to use ESP20/40 together with RP2?
3) If RP2 + ESP10, supporting route table size down to 1M?
4) 4M routes is shared for both IPv4 an IPv6?
5) SIP card will affect route table size?
I use one PA-2H on my 7206vxr to connect 2 T3 lease line,Due to the performance issue,I plan to replace my Cisco 7206VXR to ASR 1006, When I check the interface option for asr 1000 series router,I don't find the HSSI SPA for ASR Series Router.Does it mean ASR don't support HSSI(T3)? or other SPA can use with my T3 lease line.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI came up with a few ideas to Load Balance based on multiple ISPs. In our network setup we have a distribution layer of 3750s going to an ASR 1000 Series Router, which goes out to multiple ISPs, ISP1 and ISP2.
we also have a virtual fortinet appliance behind the 3750. If I say all traffic going to 0 - 126 goto ISP1, and 128 - 254 goto ISP2,and then obviously whatever NATd IP the customer has (ISP1 or ISP2), the return traffic will have to go to that specific IP. The traffic will allgo back to the virtual fortinet on the same interface, so I would assume I would be safe with uPF.I don't know of any ways to load balance based on Link Optimization, without implementing a load balancer?
According to the Time Warner website, my Road Runner Turbo with Power boost is capable of download speeds up to 15 Mbps, which seems to be far surpassed by all wireless routers. So what are the benefits of routers such as the Netgear WNR2000 and beyond with speeds up to 300 Mbps vs the Netgear WNR1000 with speeds up to 150 Mbps?
I'm more than willing to spend more for increased performance, but don't fully understand what benefits I'll see by dropping more than about $40 on something like the WNR1000.By the way, I'm in a two bedroom apartment and regularly have two laptops, a PS3, and Droid X connected to the internet.
I'm using an XFX 750I motherboard and a D-link DWR-112 router to connect to my network. It is showing that it's using 100 Mbps when connected through above mentioned motherboard's Ethernet port. Can I get 1000 Mbps i.e. 1 Gbps networking speed in my local area network?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an Intel GT 1000 NIC installed in my XP Pro SP3 PC.I downloaded the driver update file for this NIC: "PROWin32.exe", version 16.6, dated 9/30/2011 for Windows XP 32 bit.The install failed with the following error message: I emailed these details to Intel Tech Support but have not yet heard back from them.
I searched my PC for "VC90_CRT_x86" and found it in many *.cab files but not as a single file anywhere else on my computer. How to get the new driver to install? I'm using the GT 1000 because the Realtek NIC that is on my MOBO failed a couple of years ago.
I've tried everything I can think of to try to connect to the internet with my Linksys WRT120N router.
The Problem
A few months ago my internet was out for a few hours, but I thought it was a router problem so I disconnected the router and connected my computer to the internet through my DSL modem. Of course, I couldn't connect to the internet because the internet was just out for a few hours on my provider's end. But after that the router wouldn't connect back to the internet.
Computer Specs
Windows Vista 32 bit. Intel Core2 DUO, 2.20 GHz, 2 GB RAM
Here are a list of things I've tried.
1. Installing it with the install disc.
2. Installing it manually
3. Updating the Firmware
4. Resetting the router multiple times
5. Making sure that Obtain IP Address Automatically is selected
6. Putting my MAC address into the router settings
7. Renewing my IP address
8. Flushing my DNS
9. Disabling both my Firewall and then making sure Windows Firewall was off
10. While doing all of this I rebooted my computer and powered down my DSL modem and router several times.
I recently restored my computer to factory settings and had to reinstall everything. I can not get on the internet. All the lights that should be on are on on both the modem (Westell Wirespeed) and the Linksys Router (Wireless-G), I have strong signal and it says it is connected in my network connections, but no pages load. If I take the router out of the equation and just use the modem and ethernet cord the internet works perfectly. I have no clue what to do. I know the router works because it worked fine before I restored the computer. I am running Windows XP. I don't know what service pack though
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've bought this router about seven months ago. I tried setting it up right when i got it but it didn't work. I ran out of time during my break and am now getting around to trying again. I've tried numerous resets and reboots, messed with most of the settings individually, but I never can connect to the internet through the router. The internet works with my old linksys router and directly connected to the computer, just not when connected to the router. I've tried calling up my internet provider, and the tech guy couldn't figure out what was wrong either. We have a DSL connection, and the MAC address of this computer is cloned into the router if that makes a difference.
