I have a Realtek PCI GBE Family Controller. I recently reinstalled Win7 and it loaded drivers for the card automatically. I actually didn't notice the speed issue until I went to move stuff around on the home network.
The Device Manager lists the above NIC. Under Properties I have:
Auto Disable Gigabit = Disabled
Speed & Duplex = Auto Negotiate
I tried setting Speed & Duplex to 1.0 Gbps Full Duplex but I only interrupted a file transfer by doing this. (The Network icon in the System Tray indicated that the network connection was lost.)
I am using Cat5E 1 Meter or less cables. I have 2 PCS next to my desk with a D-Link Gigabit Switch sitting on top of one of the computers. AFAIK all ports on the switch support Gigabit.
I need to a run an Ethernet network between 2 buildings 1000ft apart. The buildings are in a forest so I don't think wireless is possible. What kind of cable can I run between the two buildings and what type of adapters do I need on each side?
Understand they are using dfferent cat cable. Does Cisco equipment nromally all are 1000-T, how to check they are 1000-T or 1000-Tx, does cat 5 with 4 pairs already support GE speed.
I just received a new computer with the G41M-ES2H motherboard. Everything works as long as I use an ethernet cable, but I want to set it up to access the Internet wirelessly since I already have a wireless network. Is there some type of special set up to initialize a wireless connection, or do I need a separate wireless card to make this work. If I need a wireless card, which one is best for normal home-office type Internet use?
I'm planning on building a gaming computer and I don't want it to run on my wireless network which is in the basement. I have absolutely no experience with networking, and I need setting up a gigabyte network and trying to reaching 1GB of speed. I have heard of gigabyte networks and what gigabyte networks are and how to achieve 1GB of speed.
I have recently installed a new motherboard (Gigabyte X58A-UDR3R) and i've been having a problem where when i plug my ethernet cable in to my on board lan nothing is being detectedOn start up the with the cable plugged in the ethernet light will flicker letting me know its being detected then randomly shuts off when i reach my desktop. This happens and i dont have a connection to the internet
I don't have a router but I need to provide internet to two devices. I have a Gigabyte P55A-UD3 motherboard and a Linksys ethernet PCI card. Is there any way I can connect the Internet to my motherboard, and then provide internet to my second device via the PCI card?
I am assuming, that the slowest component on a network determines the connect speed? I am having a small network with 4 pcs and 2 of them show 1GB connect speed while the other 2 show 100MB. What would cause 2 units to run at the 100MB speed on a Gigabyte-Switch and Router?
I have 30 switched in my corporate network it’s all up and running all switches running by default configuration and connected to WS-C4506 core switch our dhcp server pooling 192.168.100.1/27 network. Now we need to configure new Vlan for finance department this department has more than 200 users. If my server distributes 192.168.200.0 range ip can vlan2 automatically assign ip 200.0 addresses to finance department. All switches running default config no ip address assigned.
I need to replace an existing ASA 5540 with a new ASA 5525X. I would like to pre-stage and configure the new box with the existing config, migrate license and export certificate files before swapping it with the old one during a change window. The new firewall will run 9.1 on deployment. Now the same 7.2(4) cannot just be copied over to 5525X running the minimum 8.6 version. There is a Web based tool available at [URL] according to Cisco documentation but the page does not load for me (Cisco intranet only tool ?). Is there another tool for automatic conversion ?
I just finished installing a realtek wireless lan but I don't know why in the tray says it is disconnected. I open the config utilily but I don't see anything to make it work. I'm using vista. I check here and I click the Radio check mark but doesn't seem to make any difference.
Just recently built a new system with this wifi card in it, and I am experiencing random lag spikes of up at 2000ms when pinging my E3000 router. I've tried the stock firmware on the router as well as the tomato variety I was using. I've tried both Windows 8 and Linuxmint 14 and the problem still exists. I did not have this issue on my laptop, nor do I have the problem with my wife's laptop. Is there any sort of setting in the bios that might affect this that I am overlooking?I'm about to just call timewarner and have them relocate the cable modem to this room so I do not have to deal with wireless.
All of a sudden, my ethernet port isn't being recognized. It doesn't show up in device manager, and i get an error: "The Realtek Network Controller was not found. if deep sleep mode is enabled please plug the cable" when attempting to install the driver for it. i'm using the ethernet port on my gigabyte h67m-ud2h-b3 motherboard and i got the drivers from gigabyte. its as if i don't have an ethernet port it was working a few days ago but now, nada
Everything was working fine, I was able to make everything work fine. Then yesterday morning I started up my computer and it was not connected to the internet. My ethernet was plugged in and everything was as it should be. I went in to device manager and noticed that my realtek network controller was not in the device list under network adapters. I then tried to reinstall my LAN drivers from ASUS (my motherboard) which is how I got it to work in the first place. However, this time when it "finishes" installing an error pops up and says "The realtek Network Controller was not found. If deep sleep mode is enabled Please plug the cable."
I have a realtek wireless usb adaptor on my hp desktop that was working until I took it out of the usb on the front of the tower and plugged it into a usb on the back of the tower. Now I can't get internet at all even if I move it back to the front! My network doesn't show up under connections. Both the playstation 3 and the netbook are picking up the wireless signal from the router.

Everything works fine except the onboard lan doesn't work.Windows shows that there is no cable connected even though it is connected and it works. Currently I'm using the cable to write this on my laptop so that's proof that it indeed works. The bios settings for the adapter are set to enabled. I have tried the weird stuff, like unplugging for 30 min and starting again and reseting bios and holding the powerbutton for 10 sec with powercable unplugged. The cable shows that it's connected when i set speed and duplex at 10MB/s, full or half duplex, and I can ping the router but the internet eludes me.There has been no thunderstorm in the last 23 hours, I have tried the latest lan drivers from both Realtek and ASUS, there has been no windows update to mess with the system and I've tried formatting and setting up windows again.
I have a Gigabyte motherboard that ive just installed into my dads new PC and the gigabit LAN has started taking 60 seconds to connect to router, very annoying...sitting with browser open waiting for it too connect... the issue seem to first appear during windows updates, i uninstalled device driver, rebooted and reinstalled the driver off disk... this sorted the issue.. THEN windows installed more updates, however these were nothing to do with networking (Office updates) and its back ...ive tried downloading the driver from gigabyte (newer) but still the problem persists...

I bought a reconditioned Dell Inspiron 1000 which had the above loaded. In fact, everything was ready loaded on the laptop, so I do not have any disks. My laptop started jamming and so I closed down all things open on it, which unfortunately included closing Realtek (which seemed to be always open). I then could not 'reopen' the Realtek stuff loaded, it wouldn't let me.I am using a Belkin wireless g card in the laptop which came supplied with it. I thought the Realtek stuff was to with this. My internet connection keeps failing for no reason now.I don't actually know what the Realtek software/drivers/whatever were doing.
I have just purchased a new laptop (HP Pavilion G series) for my studies at university. The wirless works fine when I am connect to my network at home, but I am only able to connect to the university's network when an ethernet cable is plugged in. Everybody else I know, who has a similar setup to myself has no problems connecting to the network without the ethernet cable and I was curious as to why this might be.
I am running on Windows 7 and the wifi adapter is a Realtek RTL8188CE 802.11b/g/n
As I say I am quite a rookie when it comes to computers
I recently replaced my harddisk and ever since I've been getting BSOD's whenever I try to watch a video online (no matter what website I'm on). I'm pretty sure it's not my GPU, because I can watch my own videos just fine. It could be the RAM,ause I ran Memtest86+ for 7 passes and it found two errors, but I have no problems playing games. So, I'm thinking it's my network-driver (Realtek) even though I already (re)installed the latest version[CODE]
When I install a micro-wifi-usb 802.11n with "Realtek RTL8188CU" on a old notebook with Windows XP I get maximum 1.5 to 2Mbits/s. Though installed on a newer notebook with Windows 7 I get 30Mbits/s.Other wifi-usb, Cisco Linksys WUSB100v2 does work on that Windows XP machine at 30Mbit/s, but the dongle is much larger The router Cisco WRT320N is just 5meters away and I always have excellent signal strength.I tried some other drivers without any luck. On the site of Realtek I don't find any driver except with some letter diverence at the end of RTL8188CU, which I also tried.
I recently said to hell with wireless and wired my apartment with Cat6. My desktop computer next to the router is running fine at 1Gbps. My media center one room over is only running at 100Mbps, and I cannot figure out why.
The motherboard has a Realtek RTL8168D . I have green ethernet enabled... could that be it? Auto disable gigabit is disabled. I tried changing speed & duplex from Auto to 1Gbps, and that didn't change anything. The latest driver is installed. Their ethernet diagnostic utility shows the link speed at 100.
3 months ago, we upgraded two ASR-100 shelves from IOS-XE "asr1000rp1-adventerprisek9.02.05.00.122-33.XNE.bin" to "asr1000rp1-adventerprisek9.03.01.00.S.150-1.S.bin".Prior to the actual IOS upgrade, we had to upgrade the ROM with this package: "asr1000-rommon.150-1r.S.pkg"We now have two more ASR shelves to upgrade but I have 2 concerns and I couldn't find any answer to them:
1) Can I just use the same upgrade procedure for ASR-1000 and ASR-1002F shelves?
2) I could not find the detailed explanations of the "show platform" command output... And I'm afraid we did something wrong with our two first upgrades since I do no have 15.0(1)S mentioned in the three last lines of the output (0, R0,F0)?

I'm totally confused as to why the Internet on my PC isn't working. I had to format my hard drive yesterday but the back up disc I have wasn't working, so I reinstalled Windows XP straight from an XP disc. I was missing a few drivers which I've managed to find. One of the devices showing as unknown was the Ethernet Controller, which was preventing me from being able to use the Internet. I managed to find myself the drivers for this "Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC". Now no devices are showing as unknown, all are showing as working and the below screenshot shows that apparently I'm connected (via ethernet cable), but for some reason the Internet isn't working.
