I installed the Linksys software. (first thing I've ever installed on this Computer after Windows) It doesn't pick up the wireless signal in the house (my laptop does just fine).. is there another program floating around somewhere?

It will either not find the signal, or not connect to it unless I have my laptop wired with an ethernet cable. My network adapter is a Broadcom 802.11n. I have tried updating the driver, and multiple different routers/connections.(Yes the adapter is enabled to search for connections, it just doesnt find them unless I have it wired)

There is a wireless switch to turn on/off for the laptop, but a desktop does not have such feature.
I have an Aspire 7520 laptop and want to use it wirelessly on my router, it will not connect or even pick up the signal. I have no problems when i connect via the patch lead. i have uninstalled and reinstalled the wireless driver and i have checked to make sure i have an upto date driver as well. I run off vista, whats confusing me (doesn't take much) is that it was ok when i had my bt router but then changed to sky and it hasn't worked since.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAll my wireless devices are 802.11n and none of them can pick up the 5 GHz band on my E4200 router. I've tried all the different settings and channels on this band and still nothing. The only device i have been able to pick up the 5 GHz band with is a Desktop PC with a linksys AE1000 USB network adapter. This is quite frustrating because I would like to put my blu-ray player and game systems on the 5 GHz band. Laptop, PS3, XBOX 360, iPOD, and blue-ray player all can't pick up the 5 GHz band. Either my unit is defective (which I don't think is the case or not even the USB adapter would be picking up the network) or there is something I am missing (which I have tried pretty much everything as far as I know with the settings, have two separate names for the band networks and have tried each individual channel under 5 GHz). Also running current firmware version.

View 14 Replies View RelatedRunning OS X 10.5.8 on an old MacBook Pro on a wireless network. It might be relevant that I recently upgraded the wireless router and the DHCP-assigned IP addresses changed. Before that, everything worked reasonably well.
I can connect to the MBP from Windows 7 computers on the network, logging in with a user name and password, and access the files there as expected.
But the MBP disappears from Windows Explorer after a few minutes. I can usually add it back (always checking the box to remember it) but it just keeps disappearing. Sometimes when it disappears, I can't add it back and when I try, Windows Explorer says, "can't find."
How can I get this share to stick?
My E1500 enters a state where the LAN-side (broadcast, etc.) works, but the WAN-side (internet connection) just goes away. If I go unplug and replug the E1500 the internet connectivity comes back.When this happens, the wireless indicator on my desktop (Dell with Intel wifi) says I have an internet connection, but I clearly don't.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to setup an ASA and a UC540 side by side, to utilize the ASA for data networking and the UC540 for voice. This 'should' work fine, I just seem to be having an issue where the ASA seems to be blocking traffic from the voice network as it passes through.So here is the LAN setup:ASA: 1.1.1.1UC540: 1.1.1.2The UC has a voice vlan 10.1.1.1/24 and a service module at 10.1.10.1/30My PC uses the ASA as its default gateway, 1.1.1.1The ASA then has static routes to the UC networksRoute 10.1.1.1/24 1.1.1.2Route 10.1.10.1/30 1.1.1.2Ping from PC to the UC networks works fine. However, ping from the UC networks to PC fails. ASA logs show traffic being denied due to not having an established connection or something.My guess is that the traffic is being blocked because the egress and ingress paths are different? Traffic from the PC goes to the ASA, then gets routed to the UC and it works. However in the other direction, traffic from the UC is going directly to the PC and bypassing the ASA, because its a directly connected network and doesn't have to route through the ASA to get to the PC. The reply traffic from the PC DOES go through the ASA following its route table, thus the issue of the ASA not seeing the established connection?Same-security inter and intra interface is enabled.So I think I see the issue, I just don't know how to fix it. Is there something I can configure on the ASA to allow for this? My only other option would be to configure a /30 on a new vlan to handle the routing between the UC and ASA or something, but that seems like its going to make this simple setup way too complicated with extra networks, vlans, trunks, etc.I am running ASA version 8.4.5?

My friend allows me to use the wifi by sharing the password. My friend's computer is a MacBook. But I cannot access wifi! Why is that? I am able to see the available connections and to see the one that my friend is using. But I am unable to access it. I tried manually adding the new wifi network.
