View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Wi-Fi booster that can connect to remote distance networks, and I want to share the Wireless Networks that the booster connects to all the local computers in its range (maybe in Ad-Hoc?). The computer that has the booster has it's own separate built-in Wi-Fi.
For example, the booster gets a signal from Wi-Fi network A, and I want Network A to be broadcast to the computers who can't receive Network A's signal. I really don't mind how this is done, preferably without having to buy new hardware.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI used to have an HP Pavillion p6340f desktop computer, and then I decided to build my own. I moved the parts I'd installed in it over the years to the new build, plus the wireless card that came with the Pavillion. Strangely, with the same drivers and setup, the card refuses to find any WiFi signals - not the one it was connected to prior to the move nor the other networks around the area. Changing the drivers, uninstalling the device, rebooting - nothing will work. The symptoms are exactly the same as when I moved the card to another slot on the Pavillion.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought the above product, the ASUS USB N13 network adapter, and last night when i tried connecting to my wireless router, it worked, but I found that I could only get a maximum on 35% signal, where as my Acer laptop from 2005, receives upto a 100% signal. For a product thats rated at 150m range, distance should not be a problem, I have screen shot if required of the signal strength.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have had a wireless LAN in my home for a couple of years now and it's always worked great. I could download a 10MB file in less than a minute. Then I moved one of my computers & Wii to the other side of the house & now I can hardly get Google to load. My wireless adapter utility says I have only one "bar", and the signal strength is about 20%. Often it drops the connection altogether. I've tried the Wii, and another computer in the same location and they have a very poor connection as well. To make things even more confusing I can get a sporadic burst of speed that will sometimes last a minute, sometimes an hour. I have a Linksys WRT300N router with Comcast cable service. Is there any way I can boost my signal strength? Is there even such a device?
View 12 Replies View RelatedWe have a fairly new Asus laptop and for some reason we can't get the wireless to turn on any more.It has a Function button method to turn it on and off and any time you use this button it shows the WLAN simple with a red line through it. No matter how many times you press it it does the same thing.I've tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling, ran a security update for the drivers. When I go into the wireless connection and try and turn it on it shows that it has a signal (not sure what to) but a red X next to the connection in windows 7. I can't actually see any wireless signals so I'm kind of at a loss.
View 5 Replies View RelatedFor quite some time now my parents' wireless internet cannot seem to keep a wireless signal anywhere in the house unless you are sitting next to the router. I've been doing everything I know to try and keep the signal strong enough to use it down the hall in the living room.
I've tried using different frequencies and channels however this only seems to work for an hour then the network will fall off the network list entirely and then a few minutes later will pop back in. What is causing this signal to die out completely every few minutes? They've tried countless numbers of wireless routers in hopes it would fix the problem however this never seems to work. Is this an issue with the ISP and/or the modem they provide us? Wired connections work fine, just wireless connections refuse to either stay up or constantly disconnect the user from the network.
I have 3 laptops in the house, 2 of them can get online, mine CANNOT.It says it has excellent signal strength but has the exclamation point symbol over it and troubleshooting isnt' doing anything.I was using it the other day and then all of a sudden it just stopped?

I have two desktop computers upstairs. The main pc has the Linksys G Router and the other pc is wireless with a network adapter. All works fine here.Downstairs and on the other side of the house, I use my laptop which is wireless to the network. I also have a 46" hidef tv hooked up to a blu ray player and also connected to the network with a wireless adapter. I use Netflix to stream movies and seem to be having a problem with the signal in this room, both on the tv and my laptop. I sometimes only have 2 bars on my laptop and frequently get disconnected to the internet. When I am streaming movies or tv series, I get frequent stops and starts.
I am guessing that the signal is just not strong enough to reach this far from the router. Would switching to an N router be better for streaming? Would another G router downstairs solve my problem?
know if there is anyway i can get internet connection via measures other than wifi.i have wifi modem on first floor and my desktop pc is on 2nd.i cannot receive any signals here and when i do they are very weak and get disconnected often.i heard about cat 5 lan extensions and powerline adapters but dont know how they work and HOW to make them work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor my network the way it is setup is one building has the 2 main servers.simple wireless router and a few laptop that connect to it. a Wii and some other devices, all of them share media etc with no issue. Internet is not a problem either. One of the servers has a PCI wireless card and connects to another network.(network2)network 2 is able to share and play all the media off the service lets say 80% of the time.It also has a different internet provider and internet connection is not a problem but the wireless signal strength is low , (2 bars) or -55 to -82 it seams to jump around at.If you try to stream or play too much media it freezes on you. or if 2 devices on network 2 try to play something it freezes as well sometimes though when the signal is good -55 ish there is no issues. There is alot of wireless traffic in the area, i cant change that.and dont really want to buy a ranger extender or something $20 is what I have for parts if anything. If I were to put a 2nd wireless card in server 2 or Server 1 even. Also both the wireless router on network 2 and the pci card on server 2 are physically as close as hey can get.

My wireless IS on, and my mother's IPad uses the same router as my laptop does for internet and she gets internet with no problem, so it's not the router. I've tried rebooting the computer, disabling and reinabling the wireless, shutting down the computer for the night and trying in the morning, and none of these things worked.
