View 1 Replies View RelatedMy ISP was unable to facilitate me, and neither was Linksys chat. I've searched and found many step-by-step guidesm kind of at my wit's end here.Right now when I connect wirelessly to the internet, it jumps on a connection labeled "linksys," which is my wireless router (BEFW11S4 ver. 4). It used to connect to "Jason" (me) but that's no longer a valid connection for some reason. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to set my connection back up properly and secure it as my own.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had a secure connection, after trying to change the passsword, it now is unsecured. I was trying to connect a new Ipad to my router but I have failed miserably.
How can I get my router a password and then use that password to connect an Ipad to my home network? I reset the router, but the connection is unsecured, I can't figure out how to get it back.
I too am having a problem establishing a secure connection for Dropbox, Adobe update and just about every website I try to access via Firefox or Chrome comes up as unsecure. I can add exceptions, but I would rather access them securely.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Cisco E1000 that I was changing settings on and now I cannot connect when I have a secure connection. I can connect when I disable security, I can also connect with a USB wireless adapter. Anyone else can connect to the wireless, but I cannot with my internal wireless adapater if the router is in secure mode, but I can with unsecure mode. I'm not sure what I changed or when, or if it is a coincidence. I'm using Windows Vista Home Edition. I have two wireless connections. The wireless 2 with the netgear adapter is working but the wireless with the Atheros is not. The wireless connector works with other other networks, just not the Cisco E1000 and the Cisco E1000 works with other computers. When I connect with the Atheros to the Cisco it just shows "Local Only".

I am using Comcast as an ISP and have a standalone Arris modem. I, obviously, have a DIR-655 router REV B with a firmware revision on 2.00NA. I have already turned off packet shaping and QOS. Also, I have set the firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for both TCP and UDP, and assigned static IP addresses to my computers. The problem I am having is that whenever I go to any secure websites, i.e. anything that starts with https, it takes an extraordinary long time to log in and to navigate to any webpages therein. I also cannot upload photos to a website and when I try the Speed-test.net website the download speed is OK but the upload test errors out, it doesn't connect.

Client version 2.5.3055.On the ASA with 8.4.2 (ASDM 6.4.7) I don't find HOW to configure the IPSEC for AnyConnect, while a friend of mine with 8.4.3 did it.Is there a way to configure using CLI, or is an item of the 8.4.2 ?When I try to connect, after authenticating Username & Password, I receive (on the client) a message "AnyConnect was not able to establish a connection to the specified secure gateway." On the "Real Time Log Viewer" I see only SSL, never IKE nor IPSEC
i now learning about SSLVPN, and i already install license in 1941 with SSL and security9 License, i learning how to make a gateway for SSLVPN full tunnel, but i meet an obstacles, when i go to my wan ip address https://wan ip address, the browser give this
SSL connection error Unable to make a secure connection to the server. This may be a problem with the server, or it may be requiring a client authentication certificate that you don't have.

I have a Pix 515E with a VPN setup. I recently tried to connect Cisco VPN Client and get the following error: "Secure VPN Connection terminated locally by the client. Reason 412: The remote peer is no longer responding" I have previously been able to connect to this VPN using Cisco VPN Client without issue. Below is a copy of my config and VPN Client log & debug logs from Pix. We have Newwave Communications Cable internet, which i just found out the the ISP has recently implemented DOCSIS 3.0. (i'm not sure if that matters).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am about to re-install Windows ME on an old Dell Dimension 4300. The computer is connected to the internet via a 2Wire 3600HGV DSL modem/router.
Do I need a software firewall? Or is the router sufficient? Is antivirus software necessary if I don't download anything? It will be part of a local LAN, so I don't want to jeopardize any of the other PCs on the home network.
NOTE: I'm looking to run some older (non-DOS) computer games that don't run well (or at all) on XP and newer systems.
NOTE 2: When I say 'secure', I'm not looking to actively browse the web on the machine. I was curious as to what risks I be facing if I simply had this PC connected to my local network (and thus the internet).
I just bought a "DLink Xtreme N Gigabit Router DIR-655" I configured it correctly. It works well for the wireless connection but my Lan connection (wired connection) does not work. The Lan computer connects to the router but cannot access the internet. All of my machines work OK with a Netgear G router, including the Lan computer.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was just wondering what the best way to secure my network would be. I was reading this article then the comments from others were saying that most of that info is laughable and really no good besides creating a password or encryption key. I have in the past had my wireless router set to not broadcast the SSID as well me creating my own SSID so it's not just Linksys or whatever and I had mac filtering enabled as well use WPA2 Personal and had a password. But I had some problems such as my Aunt's Laptop wouldn't connect unless I broadcasted the SSID and now my brother came back from Colorado and he said he never had any problems connecting to his friends Wireless network, I am assuming his friends was unsecured but here his Laptop won't stay connected unless I have an unsecured network so if I had it set to having a password it would connect but then disconnect after like 3 seconds but now it's staying connected but I have it completely unsecured. His drivers are completely updated from what I can tell.
His laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1500 series not sure exactly at the moment but I think it's the e1505. It's like 4 years old he got it in 2008 which when I was at dells website and typed in his service tag and found drivers the newest wireless card driver was from 2008. Anyways my router is a Linksys WRTU54G-TM Wireless G router with 2 phone ports. Anyways my network would consist of 2 Desktop PC's one running windows 7 1 running XP but both are right next to the router and are wired so nothing there then as for wireless there are 3 laptops at this time my brothers Dell E1505 I think (It Won't stay connected) and it runs Vista, my Dell Latitude C840 running XP (No problems)and an Acer extensa 4420 running XP (also no problems). Also my younger brothers friend comes over a lot and bring his Laptop which is an HP something running XP (no problems) Also we have a PS3, A Wii each have connected fine and possibly my brother from Colorado's Xbox 360. Also my younger brothers friend also brings his PS3 over and has no problems. There are also 3 ipod touches no problems either. We also have Ooma VOIP telephone service and that's just connected directly to the router

All of a sudden, it now has a lock next to the name in the list of wireless networks and asks me for a password when I try to connect. My roommate knows NOTHING about computers and has no idea how it happened. She has an Arris modem, Windows 7. I tried typing in the common IP address for Arris and I did get to a screen giving a lot of info about the system. But there was no where to log in or change any passwords.
