View 4 RepliesI want to setup a wifi network in my office that can support 200+ users at a time. I'm trying to but I have very limited knowledge about networking. We currently have 2 5MBPS internet leased lines. The total office area is around 2000sq ft, all open, separated by glass walls only. I'm thinking about buying a powerful load balancing router and a switch, then connected 4-6 wireless router to this switch and give single wireless SSIDs to all routers. I want to keep one single network for all the users. Is this the right way to do?

1. My question is similar to aniketchitale's, can get another wireless router, create a different SSID (eg. router1 and router2), but both wireless routers still connected to the same fiber connection. In other words, I would like to segregate the first 20 users to router 1 and the next 20 users to router 2.
2. By having 2 wireless routers each with their unique SSID, will all the users still be able to access to the same printer in the office?
How to setup a 20 -30 computer network.

I am a networking student so have access to a free copy of Windows Server 2012. I want to setup and get experience with AD, DHCP, and DNS, among other services. Right now I have a Netgear router attached to a Cisco switch. (studying for CCENT cert) I have my desktop and server plugged into switch. I want my desktop to connect to the domain for testing and messing aroudn with. My wife has a netboook, smartphone, and wireless ipod. I'd like her 3 devices to get an IP from the DHCP server without having her authenticate to the server. Will the Netgear router allow this since wirless access is on? Or will she need to authenticate with the server to get a DHCP IP? I am gonig to disable the router's DHCP service.

I have DIR-615 Cx (bought in Taiwan) Hardware C2 ver. I reflashed with DIR-615 firmware from Singapore to get English interface. I connect to a internet through another router on which I setup D-Link on DMZ with port forwarding. Router works fine, I have internet connection. So the question is: I have small cafe and want to offer customers WiFi connection. I want to setup a time limit and allow them to browse only internet not internal network. (When I connect laptop to D-Link Wifi I can see my NAS on different subnet connected to cable modem/router) And if its possible to limit bandwidth. Can I do it with DIR-615 and how to configure such a setup?

we are using ACS4.2 to authenticate wireless users for ssid : copr-wireless. the acs authenticate users via windows database (acs is a member of the windows doamin) no local user defined in acs. there is a mapping between all windows users and a local group in acs (wireless_group) in wireless group i defined the vlan as 80 so that corp-wireless clients will be in vlan 80 and they can take an ip address from one DHCP server in the network. vlan 80 is in our core switch. the dhcp also.
now we added a guest anchor WC with ssid: guest-wireless. we need to auth guests also via ACS/Windows. guests are the same users as corp-wireless but corp for lan only and guest for internet only my prob is that ACS will map guests to vlan 80 because they are member of the domain, however guest users should not have any vlan. it is like if they are in DMZ. they will take ip address from the anchor WC.
I've got a windows server 2003 running a big application (sage1000) but suddenly it seems that users cannot access the server by unc path.i've also test to access \server on the server itself doesen't work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe ACS can authenticate people using local database , it can also authenticate a single user (using windows database) if you are fast after the service is restarted , however after a few secounds, it fails to authenticate any users , the error we are seeing on the logs appear as authentication failure type : internal error. Also on the log files, the authentication request from the user does not appear in the correct group, it is thrown into the default group.

I'm looking into a way of routing users internet connection based on their username or group in a windows environment. Currently there's two ISP connections with their own proxy server. I want a user to be fully redirected to one of the ISPs based on who they are. I was hoping via IE proxy settings, this can be accomplished, but it looks like the primary ISP connection, is still getting most of the connections/routing.

View 1 Replies View Relateddesigning a wireless network for an apartment complex. The complex is shaped like like an rectangle, fairly small, maybe 100 feet on the ends and 300 feet long on the sides. There are 130 people that we are assuming may have about 3 devices each that they will connect to the wireless network, potentially simultaneously, as this is in a college environment. We have plenty of bandwidth and down/up speed. We are running 30 megabit down and 10 up. I am planning on having a router with two access points centrally located in an apartment and extending the network out with antennas in each direction from the access points with Omni directional antennas. The Access points that I am planning on using are Cisco WAP200 with maybe a Linksys router, as the router should not have more than 10 connections on it. I need something that will not crash after 10-15 users connect to it because it jams up from overload.

Each hostel has a particular proxy address that allows us to access the internand by low i mean, quite lowet, and each user has a fixed bandwidth(which is low). My question is, is there a way for one user of a particular hostel to use the bandwidth of multiple users of the same hostel(such that they are in the same ip range, and have the same proxy server for accessing the internet).i.e Is there a way for me to increase my bandwidth by using the bandwidths of other non allocated ips within the range of my hostel, such that with a single broadband connection, i can utilize the the unallocated bandwidth.
