Difference Between Netgear N600 WNDR 3400 And 3700
Dec 31, 2012The only difference I can see is the 3700 has gigabit ports. Any other performance differences about with these two routers? I already have the 3400 but I am wondering if I chose the wrong router seeing as the 3700 is only ten bucks more. What there experiences were or there knowledge of these two products or even opinions. I have a gaming PC hard wired, ps3 wireless, nexus 7 wireless, and LG Media Player wireless in a 1400 square foot house with one wall between ps3 and 2 walls between media player. I doubt range will be an issue with either routers though. I might transfer files between PC's later on but 10/100 should still be pretty good speed or not so much?

Mar 24, 2011My problem is with xbox live, i have the WNDR 3400 N600 Dual Band Router and i have been experiencing lag spikes since the day i have gotten it. I used to have a wireless adapter and i thought that was the problem so i recently went out and bought a 200 ft ethernet cable so now im hardlined to the router I have the xbox set to highest priority, i have it set with a static ip address for the dmz so i have no restrictions, i have all ports opened just in case, i have great internet speeds : 18.04 mbps download and 4.03 mbps upload and nothing seems to work.. i still have lag that sometimes disconnects me from xbox live and ruins the whole gaming experience.

Jun 2, 2011Currently using a netgear WG602 wireless router which i use to connect to my 2nd PC and Iphone, with the Netgear router running from my main PC.I have recently been having trouble with my 2nd PC ad Iphone randomly losing connection and the only way for the connection to be reastablished is to reboot the wireless router. Once rebooted i am able to connect again to the internet with no problems, interestingly enough my main PC never loses connection. Also sometimes when i lose my connection and reboot the wireless router i will have a IP conflict pop up on my 2nd PC however i would i say i get this once in every 10 dissconects and not all the time. Sometimes i won't dissconect at all in a day but sometimes i may dissconect 5-6 times.

Feb 5, 2012I just finished wiring my gigabit network. It's important to note that I DO NOT know what the cables look like inside the wall; I did not run them myself and only terminated the wall plates and patch cables.
Network looks like this, all 1gbps links: WAN to WNDR4000 router Port 1 on the WNDR4000 goes to Desktop, port 2 goes to Windows Home server,When I initiate a Desktop -> Server transfer from the Desktop, I get 106 megabytes per second transfer rate.
When I initiate a Server -> Desktop transfer from the Desktop, I get 21 Megabytes per second.
When I initiate a Desktop -> Server transfer from the Server, I get 80 megabytes per second.
When I initiate a Server -> Desktop transfer from the Server, I get a 80 megabytes per second.
Shouldn't it be the same regardless of which machine requests the transfer? The really weird thing is the Desktop only pulling 21 Megabytes per second from Desktop initiates transfers, whereas if I remote into the server and initiate the EXACT SAME transfer from there, it jumps to 80 megabytes per second. This makes no sense as they should use the same wires.....
WNDR 3700 - How To Judge Traffic Meter
Feb 6, 2011I am working w/ WNDR3700, and I've been trying to take a look at the traffic meter to judge how much I actually us.
In 7 days I supposedly already used 30gig. There are only two computers to the network and the most we do is Pandora/gaming. Is this router incorrectly reading incoming/outgoing data? Is there someone logging into my router and downloading freaking porn or something? Because whenever I check to see connected devices, I only see our comps, are they able to hide their device on the router?

Wireless Bridges To Pair Up With Netgear WNDR 3700?
Oct 13, 2011I bought this wireless router about a year+ ago, and it's just great. It's attached to the cable modem "downstairs" and right now it supports 2 smartphones wirelessly plus an ancient wired cable to an "upstairs" home office.
I'd like to improve overall performance with a wireless bridge to a gigabit hub in the upstairs office. I'd also like to add a second wireless bridge so I can stream movies to a box that would be attached to my TV, which does not have built-in wireless access.
Trendnet seems to have some interesting wireless bridges, but in the past I had a Trendnet wireless router with really, reallly bad software.

In ACS 5.3 tried setting the Shell Profiles common task to 15 for both Default and Maximum (one at a time, and together), as well as setting the Custom Attributes for priv-lvl=15 (with and without Common Tasks set).

Feb 26, 2013I have a ME-3400EG-12CS-M switch the ports 13 thru 16 have sfp's and are connection to other 3560 switches over fiber. The GIG 0/1 on the 3400 connects to the long haul sonet transport electrically. The IOS is Version 12.2(55)SE3. I can't ping or log into the 3400 unless I am at one of the 3560 switches hanging off of the NNI ports 13 thru 16. I think it is because the max number of NNI ports are 4 and I can't change the GIG 0/1 to a NNI port. Can I make config changes to the UNI port so that it will act like a NNI port with out upgrading the IOS to allow for more NNI ports?

Also, I am running connectify(internet sharing program), a virtual wifi router and I can connect devices to it, but they cannot get internet through it (even when my laptop gets it through Ethernet). Is this a hardware problem? Software, OS? I've had the comp for over a year and it's always worked perfectly.

When I checked in Feature navigator under feature "VTP" i could see ME3400 supports VTP. But when i get into CLI of ME3400, i am not getting any option of configuring VTP. I could see in some sites VMPS is supported in ME3400.
I would like to confirm the following:
1. Does VTP support present in ME3400 or not? If not, what would be the reason that it is not included in ME3400.
2. If not what is the alternative.
Network is already running VTP of around 30 switches.

Sep 27, 2012I have a problem at a place where 5 ME3400 switches are connected in a straight line. I can't do much about the topology of that place, but the problem is they are all DHCP Snooping, but uni cast replies from the dhcp server further up the hierarchy gets eaten by the first switch! I can't really see why it not only inspects in and whines about it not being for itself - it then drops the message.
What have we done wrong (apart from the actual layout of that place, which I can't really change)?

It really should just send it on, as with any uni cast not on the switch itself - it should go out Gi0/2 really. Why isn't it?

All the trunks are trusted, DAI is on (I've tried shutting it off, as well), port-security is used but it's actually not dying on the switch having the client computer, but the first one in the chain with dhcp snooping.

We can access the 3750 via the 3400. Also, when we run CDP NEIGHBORS on the 3750 we do not see the 3400 (but other devices are displayed). How can we get CDP to display the devices on the 3400? Use Wcg200 As Bridge?
Dec 19, 2012So I have an RV120W as my "main router" but I can't get a wire into the garage to get a couple of computers in there access to the internet / LAN. I have a WCG200 cable gateway at my disposal, with a built in 4port switch and wondered if I can configure it's WLAN to connecto the RV120W SSID and use wireless as my link between my garage network and the rest of the house LAN? WCG200 isn't going to connect at blinding speeds, which I'm ok with, I just wanted to know if it's possible?
