View 4 RepliesI am trying to configure two inside interfaces without NAT. I am not using nat-control and I have added exemptions for the two networks. I can communicate between the two networks and to the Internet just fine.I would like to verify that NAT is disabled between the two interfaces. I also need to make sure that the Interface IP (specifically for the traffic from inside-test to the inside network) is not added to packets between the two networks. I would like to be able to verify this as well. In other words I need to have the Source IP address from the originating connection on the inside-test network passed along through to the Inside network device without being replaced by the Interface's IP address. This is a test config for a production environment that will be using a load balancer. The config I have may be working in this regard and the load balancer may be replacing this IP address (that is what I am trying to test), but I am not certain.So far I have the following NAT related running-config command (in regards to these two interfaces):

I used to have the problem where QuickVPN keeps on trying to verify the network because the RV042 cannot get the final ping to the client.I then bought a RV042 HW version 3 on the VPN side and I installed RV042's at the clients as well.This may look like overkill but believe me, it gives peace of mind, it made things a whole lot better, everybody happy.I am going to set up tunnels but for the time being the clients use QuickVPN. The above setup is all good if people access the vpn from the same source.
I now have a problem where one of our people is in Vietnam and she cannot access the vpn due to the "verifying network" loop.Looking at the log everything looks great, I compared a successful connect with an unsuccessful one and the logs are identical.The only difference is that the final ping is blocked (recorded in the QuickVPN log on the client side).The client uses W7 with firewall on.No need to repeat suggestions, such as turing printer sharing off, I have been through all that. isn't this simply caused by the ISP in Vietnam blocking pings ?
I have an ASA 5520, currently running version 7.25-k8. I'm preparing for an upgrade to version 7.25(4), so I transferred the software code (obtained via Cisco download) to the firewall vis SCP. I then issued the "verify flash:asa725-k8.bin" and it fails. It comes back with the error that the CRC did not verify, Data Integrity has been compromised". My first thought was the image did not copy correctly, so I deleted it and transferred it again. I got the same error. Then I decided to run a verify against the actual current code that was running on the firewall, and it came back with the same error. I don't understand what the problem is. I don't tend to think it's an SSH key related problem, as the method I use to access the firewall is via SSH and I have no problems. Worth noting,this firewall is part of an active/standby pair, and I observe the same behavior on the failover unit, it fails to verify.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have RV220W at corporate office...intent is to have (5) groups of (3) users each connecting via VPN. Had assumed would be using QuickVPN and have set up users, etc and connections at current locations are quick, smooth, reliable. I have set up (2) locations (6 users so far). However, after 4th connection (no matter where or in what order) client hangs at "Verifying Network" and doesn't complete connection. So, I have unique usernames, etc but each of the (3) at a location are hitting the router with the same IP. Is this the problem? I'm sure the RV220W can handle 15 simultaneous connections, but can the router deal with (3) connections from the same external IP?

The I need to verify that vlan0010 on one switch is forwarding tagged traffic between the other switch it is hooked up to through the Gi0/1 port. How do I verify this? I have a server that's multihomed (Broadcom) on the other side an it is supposed to be on this vlan with one of it's network interfaces. We had a pwer outage and now it cannot communicate on this vlan. However, everything else on the vlan can reach all the other nodes accept this server in the front of my building. All the devices in the same room are linked to the same switch which has one port (fa0/17) on vlan0010 and can ping eachother just fine. The server is hooked to port 24 on my server room switch and Gigabit port one goes to a fiber converter all the way to the back. It then gets converted from fiber to cat5e again and links into the switch (2960) in the backroom.

Everything works great on this PC.The second PC is running on a Windows Vista - The QUICKVPN client stays at Veryfing Network and Eventually I get an error " The remote gateway is not responding. View 1 Replies View RelatedI attached a really ugly picture of how the switches are connected. Basically, we have 4 VLANs in the company. Everything works fine on all VLANs, except the management VLAN (ID 1 - yeah, also the default VLAN ID, I know it's bad and it's going to change some day but...one step at a time). All the switches have their management interface on VLAN1.Here's what works and what doesn't work:If I connect my PC, on VLAN1, to switch number 5 (or any other one on the same row with it) or 4, I can ping 5 (and the entire row), 4 and 3. I cannot however ping 1 and 2If I connect my PC on VLAN1 to switch number 3 I can only ping 1,2 and 3.So basically from what I can gather, switch number 3 (D-Link) is not forwarding VLAN frames containing the tag 1 from and towards the trunk between it and switch number 4 (Cisco).What is strange is that this only happens on VLAN1, everything works perfectly on the others. And it stopped working when we installed the D-Link, we didn't have any problems when instead of the D-Link we had a 48-port netgear switch.

(Incidentally, PortForward.com gives me a blank page when I try to look up how to do this.) However, when I test the port is indeed open ( Open Port Check Tool - Test Port Forwarding on Your Router ), it returns as closed. Yes, I'm running the server software while I run the test. I only have the Windows Firewall, but I ran attempts while the firewall was completely disabled as well as with just the appropriate programs allowed.

It is still blocked. It simply doesn't work.. I checked my router for any firewall but couldnt see any.. So yeah I'm 100% I fixed it on the router, unless someone is gonna tell me that there is still an option in the router that might fix it.. but I think I did something wrong in the firewall..Although I have been trying to get this to work all day.. I'd rather get some advice on the firewall or other options in my router. Btw, I am using AVG free edition, and I am pretty sure there is no firewall in that version, but there might be something I have to disable in order for this to work ?
View 15 Replies View Relatedi'm trying to use VNC as a remote desktop i was told to forward port 5900 in order to connect. but whatever i do i still an error saying that the port is not forwarded..Connection test failed.VNC Server appears to be behind a NAT router with IP address x.x.x.x. You will need to configure that router to forward port 5900 to this computer before you can connect to VNC Server over the Internet.as you can see here the port is forwarded to the server computers local IP.i have no firewalls active, and no anti-virus software that could be blocking VNC.

It is only this port none of the other ports I have open are disabled. I tried switching the server to another port but had the same problem.I have assume its some kind of security feature, since the server gets many requrests that it shuts down the port?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using Linksys routers for quite some time now, and recently made a big upgrade from the WRT54G to the E3000. I am familiar with the 192.168.1.1 interface and its functionality. However, I recently noticed a problem: when I set a port to forward traffic to any IP address on my network and then check whether or not it is actually open (url...), I am told that the port is still closed. More interestingly still, the first port that I forwarded when I first got the router is listed as open, but the other half dozen or so are still considered closed. I have been trying to set up a file transfer protocol (FTP) server, but can't even get traffic to forward from port 21! I even tried using the pre-configured FTP drop down on the Applications & Gaming tab, but to no avail. Has anyone had similar issues, or perhaps an idea as to why only one port is forwarded when I have followed the same steps that I have been using for years?
I tried to get in touch with Technical Support about this issue, but was told that I needed to purchase a $30 subscription in order to qualify for assistance. I don't think that I should have to pay $30 to know why the same steps work with some ports but not with others.
I have a domain name which I register to my WAN address so I can do service hosting from my home network. I recently switched out my WRT54G running DDWRT with an EA2700. I set up my port forwards and static dhcp assignments and they are working from outside my network, but when I try any network operation involving my WAN address from my LAN machines, the connections just timeout.
I read in some posts that "you cannot do this" and "you have to test from a remote internet machine". Well, this WORKED with DDWRT, so it's not like it's impossible to make a router that does this. Why can't I do this with the EA2700? Is there some magic setting that will let this work??

We have a pair of CSS 11501,Currently it is using source ip for load balancing and 5 servers as backend , however we have users loggin in using http and based on its source IP (ISP PROXY) , it is forwarded to SERVER A.However, we have a SSL page and when the client switches over to SSL , it is forwarded to SERVER B/C/D/E based on its source IP ( REAL CLIENT IP) .This will cause the user to be terminated as the 5 servers are independent and not running in a cluster.
Is there any way that we can use the X-Forwarded-For address to load balance so that when users loging , they are sent to SERVER A (Based on X-Forwarded-For Header IP which translate to REAL CLIENT IP).This way we are able to also send it back to the same server when it uses SSL.I believe that we should be able to load balance using X-Forwarded-For IP or to rewrite the X-Forwarded-For IP into client source IP.

I have a client with a cisco 1841 router with a static public ip. He has 3 dvr's he wanted to acces from the internet and we opened the ports for the dvr's ip's. The issue were having is that only the first ip that we opened shows the port opened and works ok, the other 2 ip with their ports show closed.

I have tried setting up a simple single port forward to the WDMBWE2, which worked great. I was able to view all my files from anywhere.however, i wasn't prompted for any login.so basically anyone could access and modify all my data.I have obviously deactivated this again.
I have already tried setting up user accounts on my WDMBWE2 to try and solve this, but that only creates the problem of my TV and music player not being able to access it anymore(they both cant type in login information).Is there any way to make the E3000 prompt me a for login/password when requesting that port?
Why is loop-back only working on ports forwarded in the Virtual Server section and not Port Forwarding or even DMZ? I have seen a post about loop-back on the DIR-655 from a while ago that had said to disable SPI and change NAT Endpoint to independent, I have done this and loop-back still doesn't work.

One firewall is able to ping the other one on this dedicated VLAN but if I send multicast traffic from firewall-1 I didn't receive it on firewall-2.I found a bug related to multicast issues on Cisco WS-C6509-E with VS-S720-10G. The bug ID is CSCtc59038.

This exact setup works in our preprod environment with the same code.Only difference is we run Distributed etherchannel on the 6500's where this doesnt work.

I've been looking into IGMP snooping and have read that a L2 switch will forward multicast traffic to all ports connected to an interested receiver AND all mrouter ports. In a L2 'V' topology this results in all multicast traffic routed onto a VLAN being forwarded to the 2nd distribution switch. My question is how should a 6500 Sup720 deal with this unwanted multicast traffic? Both a Local SPAN of the RP and a Netdr capture suggest that this traffic is punted to the RP and ultimately dropped. Is this expected behavior or should the traffic be dropped in H/W?
