I have a new site needing PoE for their VoIP system as well as the usual LAN config.I haven't used Cisco PoE switches for a good couple of years now and was wondering what you think of the 2960-48PST-S?
I will probably need PoE up to around 50 Meters and will be using PoE on most of the 48 ports over CAT5e 100Mbps with 1Gbps upload is fine so these switches do seem to tick all the boxes but I’m not sure if there are better options?
I'm trying to save a configuration file on my 2960-48PST to a FTP server.
Unfortunately it doesn't work. What different steps I should follow ?
The software version is 12.2(50)SE5.
I have an doubt about some port in 2960.He have 2 SFP and 2 Fixed Ethernet. Can I use these 4 ports in the same time? Use 2 Ethernet and the 2 SFP with Fiber?

My laptop connects and has excellent strength throughout my whole home but my internet slows down when i move only three meters away from my modem. I have been sent a new modem, changed wireless channels and troubleshooted with my network provider but still no luck.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a c2969-48PST-L switch running IOS Version 12.2(55) SE. The switch is configured for 802.1x authentication. The radius server is a Cisco ACS 5.2. We are using PEAP and allowing EAP-TLS and EAP-MS-CHAPv2. Windows 7 PCs (HP Elitebooks) are using the "windows" supplicant and configured to 802.1x authentication is enabled using Microsoft Protected EAP (PEAP), we are not validating any certificates and the authentication method is Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2). What is occurring every so often is that the PC will fail authentication (intermittently) and the ACS shows the reason as being 5411 EAP session timeout. This is a pretty generic message according to TAC. The interesting part to me is the Authentication Method showing on the ACS when the authentication fails is simply PEAP. However, when it does not fail the Authenication Method is shown as PEAP (EAP-MSCHAPv2). We have the Cisco TAC looking at the ACS and they are saying the issue is the client not reponding to the request correctly from the switch.if the version of IOS softare on the switch maynot be handling the communication to the ACS correctly. I have wireshark traces of a successful authenication and unsuccessful one. There does seem to be any difference from the client side at all.

I am trying to access the cisco view but a message appears notifying me to install the devices packages, i have tried to do an online update from the software center, but it did not work.
the devices that i have are, 2960 switches and 6500 switches and 3560 switches.
We just purchased cisco 2960 for our VoIP needs and we are using polycom phones, and Phone and Computer will use same port. Since Polycom phones are capable working with CDP protocol and we are hoping to get another switch to expand VoIP network. I found easiest way of setting up each port is as following (from the cisco tutorial)

My first question,when we are using switchport voice vlan dot1p ,I thought we instruct the switch port to use 802.1P priority tagging for voice traffic and to use the default native VLAN (VLAN 0) to carry all traffic.Do I still need to create a Vlan 20 for data and Vlan 10 for voice ?
Secondly,same tutorial adds these commands as well,Do you think for our set up, using those commands are feasible ?

I downloaded latest flash (c2960-lanbasek9-mz.150-1.SE.bin) and updated the new flas through telnet while reunning tftp server. and tftp server is given the message sent 2960-lanbsek9-mz,SE.bin to (10.10.10.1), 11847957 bytes
after reload the system i login telnet and saw the verson still it is showing old verson, then how can i comform flash is up-dated or not...

I'm having a strange problem where I'm not able to get through a Cisco 2960-S L2 switch when connected through vpn, while LAN-WAN traffic is working fine.The situation on site is the following:When inside the network I'm able to get to the internet without a problem. The problem is within a vpn-session. When this session is succesfully started I can ping and manage the Cisco 2960-S switch, but I can't ping or manage the Dell switch from my laptop. I can however ping the Dell from the Cisco-switch. [code]

But LMS won't update the 2960 because there is not enough Flash Space on the device. The 2960 shoud have 32MB but a dir flash shows this

I've noticed a strange behaviour in my 2960s regarded to CPU.
CPU level is very high, 70-75% when nobody is logged by vty or console, but it drops drastically to 40% when sombebody logs in. I've been able to discover that this is due to CPU interrupt level, as it shows the output of sh process cpu sort 5sec, just logged in.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've just made a purchase for a Cisco 2960 8 port switch ( Exact model: WS-C2960PD-8TT-L ), I reckon this is what I need to set up my network, so far I've gone through the Express Set-up and configured it through there with no problems. I've set up the hardware in the following manner:
-Internet Modem
>Port 8 on Switch
->Port 1 on Switch goes to 1252 Cisco AP
->Port 2 on Switch goes to Linksys VOIP home Router
I let it start up and can connect to the internet through the AP, and through the router. (I'm posting through the AP-Switch set-up right now.) However, once I connect to the AP with a second client. It refuses to let the second client connect/not give an internet connection, as it would a direct connection to the modem.I'm going to assume this is due to NAT not being configured through the command line on the switch yet.
I would like to as you that i have swiches 2960 (10Unit) and switches 3560 ( 3 unit) and router 2821 ( 1 unite) and AP( 10 unit).So do you know software can manage all those product? Like monitor switch up or down, manage configure, check performance.
