My husband has an Acer Aspire 5720-4126. Last month I bought a Netgear wireless router (model WNDR4500) and he is the only one in the house that can't connect to the internet. He is able to get to the router, excellent strength, but the Activity has Bytes: Sent-3,142 Received-0. I had the Netgear customer service tech try with no results. [code]
We have a home use WRT160N router linked to a PC desktop and two wireless laptops, Yesterday bought a new I-Phone, but could not link to my network (entered the security key many times). I accidentally connected to computer fix it firm that linked to my PC and wanted a large sum to fix the problem which he said was due to large number of temp?? internet files and once removed he would change the IP address of the desktop computer? Is this diagnosis logical and can I do it on my own. The router is definetely working - both laptops access the internet and I was recently able to hook up a Samsung Blu-Ray player using the same security code I used for the I-Phone.
I am trying to setup my E4200 to my new Cable Modem. I followed all of the procedures. I get Internet access when plugged directly to modem. I cloned the MAC Address and the Stus of the Router displays my current IP's (so I should have Internet). However, when I plug my computer into the Router I get no internet access.
I have a problem with the e4200 router and a mybook 1 TB connected to it. The media server works fine but after a while i loose contact with the router and the server this means that the Cisco connect doesn't work, the 192.168.1.1 doesn't work and I can't find the disk via \. I do have internet connection via wifi as im using it now....why I loose connection to the router? The lease time is 24h and it can happen more than once in a day.
has a netbook which on this one, the network is not working. He connects to the wireless router and gets an ip but he does not have access to the internet. When I tried the netbook at my house with my wireless, it worked perfectly and it stopped working again on my friend's network.
Im trying to set up a wireless router in my dorm room. I know, I am not supposed to do that. I got it set up and everything, but still didn't have internet access.
can connect to the network but not the internet. In IPCONFIG it says media is disconnected. In properties it says adapter is not connected. But I can see the network, I can ping every computer on the network, just can't get to the internet.Reinstalled all the drivers, tried renew, netsh commands, flushdns, disabled & reenabled. 2 other computers connect to the internet and each other with no problem. Can connect to other WI Fi's too, but still no internet access.
Since I got my TP-Link 1043ND working in a previous thread I thought that my second router could be in good use at my brothers house about 50m from mine.I've got a modem in the basement, it's wired to the first router (TP-Link), the TP-Link sends wireless signals to five units, one of those units are my brothers computer. The Internet works fine on every unit. Now I thought maybe my brother will have better wireless signals to the first router if I connect a second router between. I guess the second router should be working like a switch then.I have the both routers MAC addresses. I got inside the first router and entered the WDS option, I chose LAN instead of Disabled and entered the second routers wireless MAC. Then I took the first routers MAC and entered it in the second routers WDS options MAC and Enabled it. It didn't work so I entered Static Routing Table on the second router and entered the first routers IP (started with 85.228) which I found in the dd-wrt menu. Then I entered same Netmask as the first router and the same Gateway with the interface LAN. No Internet access thou from the second router. The second routers LAN IP is set to 192.168.1.3 (the second router has 192.168.1.2 as LAN IP). DHCP is set to disabled at the second router. The funny thing is if I set the second router to the same LAN IP as the first router and the same DHCP settings with DHCP enabled it says that I have Internet Access but I can't enter the Internet
I can connect to my router with full strength no matter where I am in my house. But the moment the router leaves my sight, I can no longer connect to the internet. I just recently set up this router and the internet was working completely fine at full speed no matter where I was; then all of a sudden I had to be within direct sight of my router just to connect to the internethere is a 6 meter distance between my router and my room. between that is a plasma tv and one wall. I don't live in a concrete bunker with 6ft thick walls. There is only one conflicting channel in the area and it is channel 1. Changing between different channels has no effect. rebooting the router has a momentary effect where I am able to connect in my room at full speed, but it eventually dies and I lose connection again.
Linksys Wireless router connected but no access to the internet. I do not have a modem in my flat from ISP, only a cable, since the internet is set for every apartment in the building. I have a username and password that I use to connect. There is no problem connecting with the cable. I set up by Belkin wireless router and I'm actually connected to internet wireless but it only works if I also enable the primary ISP connection on my computer so my laptop is connected to internet without a cable. But this weird connection does not allow me to connect my phone to wireless or any other computer. Also the router settings site says not connected to internet and the internet light on Belkin is off.I have a Slovenian ISP -Amis, cable connection and Belkin Wireless modem, Avira Free antivirus.
After a couple of hours using the internet, the connection stopped. The wireless router still had an 'Excellent' signal, but it also said I had no internet access. All of the other wireless devices in my house connect to the internet perfectly, including when right next to the laptop.I've tried disabling the firewall and resetting the computer a few times, but nothing seems to pick up the internet access. The troubleshooting guide tells me that it is a problem with the wireless modem, but quite obviously that isn't true.
I've had a problem about the wireless router. I can easily connect to it, but the problem is it doesn't have an internet access even if I reconnect it to the ADSL Modem/Router. I can have access through the internet with the ADSL Modem/Router directly connected to my Aspire one laptop.
Out of no where today, my wireless connection has begun saying "No internet access" and I can't go anywhere online Ever since it began happening, it's been saying that for longer amounts of time. So at first it was only a few seconds, now it's been taking a minute until I re-gain internet access. I haven't installed anything or ran any executables lately, don't have any viruses, I obtain my DNS and IP addresses automatically, and a few minutes ago I installed the newest firmware update of my router and I'm still losing internet. I have a NetGear WNDR3400 router.
i am able to connect to unsecured wireless networks but when i connect alll of them say no internet access i only notice a yellow warning sign beside those signal strength bars also and not on secured one !
I have a Belkin G Wireless Router which until recently, apart from a few signal drop-outs, was working fine.A couple of weeks ago, I tried to connect to the internet but despite the icon on my netbook showing that my Wireless Network Connection is connected and has excellent strength, I am unable to open any webpages etc. I tried re-booting the router but it is still not working.
The modem is working fine as I am able to access the netbook if I plug my netbook into it directly and I don't think it is an issue with my netbook as I have the same problem if I try to connect my HTC Smartphone to the internet through Wi-Fi too, eg recognises signal but cannot access pages. The router was permanently plugged in and turned on which I have since heard tends to burn them out so I am thinking it might be an issue with the router.
I have a Linksys E2000. Â It worked fine until one day, without any change at all, it simply stoped working. I mean, I can still connect through my wifi laptop connection (it shows connected to my router and says that I have an excelent signal). But, I can't reach the internet. But, If I unplug the internet cable, and plug it in my laptop, the connection works fine. A friend told me that this could be caused intentionally by the internet provider, that they would block my signal to avoid me using a wireless router, trying to force consumers to sign their own wireless service. Thus, by this friend advice, I've cloned my laptop's MAC address to the router. It didn't work either.
I recently purchased an EA2700 to replace an old Belkin. I ran the set up CD and I am unable to establish an internet connection. I am able to connect to the router (both wired and wireless), ccess the settings, etc but cant reach the net. I've tried turning off the firewall, flushing the DNS, disabledthe IPv6. Did all the basic steps, resett the modem/router, etc...nothing. i hook the Belkin up and it connects just fine
I've been having internet connection problems for the last few days and i usually do just unplugging the router and modem and turning it them back on but that hasnt been doing the job this time, its still connecting but it just says no internet access but it will connect when i connect my laptop to the modem. My router is linksys wrt54gs version 6.
I have my main router, a E4200v2 which I use as a router and it provides wireless signal throughout my house, however reception is not as strong on the upper floor and there is a slight dead spot, so I purchased an E4200 for the uppermost floor.I set the E4200 to bridge mode so it will act solely as an AP.However connecting the two routers LAN to LAN and the AP does not access the internet.Setting a static IP for the router, instead of acquiring one via DHCP causes me to not be able to access the admin page on the AP. Â Connecting WAN on the E4200 to the LAN on the v2 does not work either. My goal here is to have my main router on 192.168.1.1 and the AP on 192.168.1.2 where I can access the admin settings for both routers in case I need to make changes.
While trying to add my kindle fire (unsuccessfully) I lost all internet connections, now my laptop won't connect. I reset the router and and can see my wi-fi account but when I try to use on my PC and laptop it won't recognize it.
I am trying to setup a DIR-601 wireless router (Hardware Version: A1Â Â Firmware Version : 1.00NA ) with my connection from Astound.I am able to connect to the internet from the cable modem (Motorola SURFboard SB5101) but I am unable to get it to work through the router. All the lights on the router look ok.When I look at the WAN status from the router setup page I see :
WAN Connection Type :Â Â DHCP Client Cable Status :Â Â Connected Network Status :Â Â Disconnected Connection Up Time :Â Â N/A
[code]....
* I noted that the router did not show me the correct time. Is that normal ?I have even copied my laptop's MAC address but it did not work. I restarted the modem and the router a number of times but to no avail.
I have E1200 router and a Motorola cable modem. I can access the router and internet with a wired connection but when I unplug the ethernet cable I no longer have internet access. I can connect to the router. I have another computer and xbox that are running wireless with full internet access.no problem.Â
wrt54g wireless router so we could get Netflix through our Wii. I have a one year old Compaq and am running Windows 7 with a wireless Internet connection through my service provider. I installed the router with no problems and was able to get online with the Wii. However, I am no longer able to get Internet access on my desktop. It shows that my Internet is connected, but it shows "No Network Access". I had gotten on fine at first, then I went to the 192.168.1.1 site to configure my data. I changed my time zone and then went to secure my connection. I cannot remember the exact option I chose, but I think it was something like WAP2 Personal. As soon as I selected that the screen froze and I can no longer access that site or get online through the router.
I recently purchased an EA4500 Cisco Wireless Router. I installed the software from the setup CD, however I cannot access the internet. All my devices (Iphone, etc) can access the router but the router cannot access the internet. Mac OS X 10.6.8
I tried setting up a home network with my above Linksys router and can't connect to the internet now. I have the ethernet cable from my DSL Modem hooked into the ethernet port on the back of the Router. In port one, I have a cable which attaches directly to my laptop as I was advised to use a cable for initial setup of my home wireless network. I was able to get into the router to set all the passphrases and wireless security settings, etc. My ISP is PPPoe and I have entered both the UserId and Password that my ISP provided. However, upon clicking on the wireless icon, my system states I am connected but the status screen shows "No internet access". I have no problem connecting to the Internet when the cable runs from my DSL modem into my computer, so it's something to do with the router blocking it now. Â My ISP does not support my Linksys router, of course, and they tell me I need to contact the manufacturer telling me the router needs to be set up as a 'bridge" ??? There is no mention of anything like this in the manual and I do not know if there is a setting on the router that is somehow blocking my being able to get an internet connection. This is all still with cables attached. Again, I seem to be able to 'connect' to the wireless network but I now cannot get to the Internet thru the router...
I have the CISCO Linksys Wireless Router Model Number: WRT120N. My laptop is finding the router, and connecting to it fine. However, when I try to log onto the internet, it says no internet connection (same in the available net work section in the menu bar).Internet (Charter) they have checked the modem and there is no issue. I have also plugged the Ethernet cord directly from the modem into the computer, and unable to access the internet.Â
I have a WRT54G2 router and when I try to connect to the internet, both wired and wirelessly, my network icon gives me a "No Internet Access" yellow sign icon. I have successfully connected to the internet by directly connecting to the modem and I have connected to other wireless networks using this computer so I have pretty much narrowed the problem down to the router. I have already perform a firmware upgrade to the latest version and did a hard reset of the router and setting it back up, to no avail. One problem I ran into while I was setting up though was that I can't even set it up with the WiFi-protected setup so I had to set up the password and stuff manually, as I have always done successfully in the past. I've never had a problem with this router in the past and so I think this router may be due for a replacement. I have contacted support through live chat and all the options they're giving me is either pay $25 to talk to someone about this or go through troubleshoot section.
I just got a Linksys router from a moving neighbor. Â The router is a Linksys WRT54G v5. She didn't have the power adaptor, so I found one that is 12VDC 500mA and it works. Â The factory resetted the device. Â I always get a signal, but it has that little error sign on it. Â It says my internet connection is broken. Â I believe this is caused by a bad ethernet port, but I have gotten into the internet sometimes. I have another router but it doesn't work either. On the other router I get a signal that as no error sign and says "Internet Access" but I still cannot access the internet. Â My laptop's network card works.
I am having issues with the WRT350n where I am getting an "No internet access" message. When I look at the wireless network connection I can see the wireless router and it says "connected" but when I scroll my mouse over the icon, it reads "No internet access". I try to access a webpage and it will not work. I originally had it connected and working properly in my home. However, I removed it and tried connecting in my office and started experiencing this problem. I did not run the setup using the CD provided. I just unplugged it from my home network and reconnected it to my office network, of course with a few passphrase changes and wireless MAC filters only allowing certain PC's to be able to access the internet. I double checked all MAC addresses of each device that I entered into the table and they are correct. All devices see the wireless network but cannot access the internet. Any suggestions? Should I re-run the installation using the CD?
I Have a Linksys WRT54GC router which I use as a switch. Recently I have been able to connect to the wireless connection, but I can't access the router or the internet. Computers that are using it as a switch have no problems, but they are setup with different network details.
I know that wireless is on, I have also tried pressing the reset button and wireless still doesn't work.
