I have this problem yesterday when I was surfing the internet when suddenly my belkin router turns off. This router is working just fine in the beginning when we have this. When I troubleshoot, it says about the ethernet cable. When I plug it to the ethernet slot on the back of my computer, it would not flash an orange light. Am I required to buy another ethernet cable or it's just my router who had just lost power?
I have a Belkin F7D2301 v1 (01) and I am having the exact same issue. I like to do surveys and I've never been able to access this particular site It does the same thing as the original person's problem. I'm kind of scared to change anything on my router setup because I have several computers on the same router. Will any of this cause the other computers not to run on the router?
I have a belkin f7d2301 and I cannot access the startup menu it says startup not found I have remove program and reinstalled it. is the disc bad. i also cannot do auto updates because it can't find startup location.
I have a Belkin N+ Wireless Router (F5D8235-4) and the loading times when I'm on the Internet is slow, it used to fast. I've tried using Firefox, Chrome, Opera but the loading is slow on every browser, I've also tried on different computers but still the same thing.[code]
Just replaced Dir 625 with Dir 655. I have Sony KDL 46NX700 TV. When the router is on the tv turns off and on, like a reboot. The longer the tv stays on the longer between the reboots. Also if the wireless device is turned off in tv settings it does not turn off and on. Have talked to Sony, they can't resolve the problem. Had me call local repair. He thinks it may be the power supply. He said he would order one. That was before I discovered it was the wireless signal causing it to turn off and on.
Essentially when my friends computer disconnects from the router, everyone elses computers cannot access the internet, even though windows says they are still connected.
Apparently when watching TV after the show is over and the TV is turned off the lights on the router dims and their wifi router is not able to be found any longer and they have to reset the router in order to find it again. I downloaded the newest firmware version 4.21.5 yesterday since they had the original firmware from years ago thinking this may solve the problem. It worked for a day and then stopped with the router having the same symptoms. They have this router located very closely to their plasma TV for the past 3 months, however, I was reading that wifi routers do not cause any interference with plasma TVs. They had this router placed near their old rear projection TV for years and never had any problems.Could the router be going bad? Could the router be too close to the TV?
So every few minutes; in no pattern, my laptop internet will turn off then reconnect.I have noticed that it does it mostly at night where I am most active on my laptop.I am using a external wireless adapter to make my connection somewhat "better" but I am not sure if that is the cause.
This first started happening a couple of weeks ago when a piece of software was put on to the computer off an external hard drive. First the wifi would turn itself off but after turning it back on it might happily stay on for a few hours before switching itself back off.The day before yesterday it decided to start turning itself off straight away. I plugged in with ethernet, uninstalled the old drivers and reinstalled new ones, this didn't seem to do anything so I turned on my firewall and titanium defense and after a while it decided to start working again.Earlier today I connected my DSLR camera to my USB 3 port to download pictures, this killed my wifi straight way. I reconnected with ethernet and I'm not sure what I did but now the wifi has decided to work again.
just three days ago my wi-fi quits working when the computer goes to sleep mode. The box in power management is unchecked. This seems to have started after a McAfee update that created screen blanking issues corrected by Dell and McAfee. I can find no reason so have turned off the sleep. Device driver is up to date.
I have a 2wire modem and I'm using att DSL. The internet was working fine, I went out of town for 2 days, I returned to find my internet wont work. During the time I was out my brother said it hadn't worked for the 2 days. The modem works fine and all lights are green when my desktop is turned off or not connected. It even lets my brother use wireless on his laptop. However, when I turn on my computer or when I connect it to the modem with an ethernet cord, the DSL light will go red and not work.
When I first got my DIR-655 (Hardware version B1) the Wireless would keep on turning itself off, and it needed a reboot of the unit to turn it back on again. After having upgraded to the 2.03NA version of the Firmware it seems to be working correctly and hasn't turned off for a few days now.
He has a Linksys wireless router installed. He only uses the router for use with lap top for the wireless convenience around the house. The desktop PC is Ethernet wired;.
When both laptop and PC are shut off, and then he, in another room turns on the laptop, the Desktop PC start up all by itself.
Is there a setting on either of these PC or router that need adjustment?
I have bee trying to make WOL work with no luck so far. The problem is that when I shut down my laptop (connected to AC power) the NIC also shuts down. I already unchecked the box "Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power" in the power management tab in advanced NIC properties.
I noticed that when I force shutdown my laptop (press the power button for 5 seconds), the NIC stays on and WOL works, but when I perform a regular shutdown, the NIC shuts down when windows shuts down.
I am connected to a public wifi in my building thru built-in adapter of my laptop. I am running Windows 7 Home Basic. The connection allows only one device to run on one login name. I need to share this connection with my other device by turning my laptop into hotspot or thru ethernet. I have tried using Virtual Wifi Miniport and Connectify. I have tried LAN also. But I encounter the same problem in all the cases. As soon as I turn on internet sharing thru the properties of my public wifi connection, the Virtual Wifi or the LAN turn "Unidentified" and there is no internet on my other device. I even tried using a usb wifi adapter to connect to public wifi and sharing the internet over my laptop's adapter and vice versa but to no avail.
I have a 128mb connection with a sa 500 series fw/router. When I turn on the ips function my throughput drops to 15 Mbps and the CPU max goes up to 100%. What gives?
I have a DIR 601 with a actiontec GT701D modem. When I shut down my computer the globe on the router goes from green to orange. The modem people say their modems are always on Am I missing something on the DIR601?why?
We have one cisco core switch 6500 series which was configured portchannel on several gig interfaces. This port is used as a trunk to enable communication between VLANs. The VLANs is where several high-end servers/hosts reside. After we disable / unbind the portchannel, the port turns amber. The following is what we did on the interface
1-no switchport command
2- make the port as access mode #switchport mode access
3- shut and no shut
4- clear arp
5- clear mac
what else can we do on that particular interface. It is just on that particular interface, the rest are ok.
Want to use WOL on 8300 with Broadcom Netlink card. Everything seems to be configured correctly: bios, network card, port forwarding etc. In fact I can wake up the 8300 over the internet following a complete shut down, but only if I do it within 3 secs or so, then it fires up OK. If I wait a little longer it will not respond to the Magic packet. I notice something strange which I suspect may be related: when I restart the PC, in the power management of the Broadcom card the box is checked that allows te computer to turn off the Broadcom card to save power, while I am sure that I unchecked it before shutdown. I suspect this setting is somehow overwritten by Windows. mentioned all BIOS setting are to enable WOL. As if Windows is ensuring that the Broadcom card is powered down so it cannot receive the Magic packet to initiate a startup.
So I have a Toshiba Satellite L555D-S7005. When I put it into Hibernate mode (I dont like turning it off, takes too much time) it paralyzes my whole wireless network. It makes it so that anybody else on WIRELESS gets disconnected, and cannot reconnect easily (they must restart the router). This gets very irritating when my brother is on the X-BOX/Laptop and he cannot continue playing games or whatever. If I disconnect my laptop the network goes down for them, but not for me. I can log right back on and connect with no problems. The wired computer has no problems with internet when I turn off my laptop.
My WAP4410N AP is running version 2.0.2.1 firmware which is quite old. There are newer firmware releases available which I'd like to upgrade to (fix the known bugs, etc.).
So I upgrade my firmware from version 2.0.2.1 to any of the following versions:
- 2.0.3.3 - 2.0.4.2 - 2.0.5.3
The AP reboots and my settings are all still there.
I go to change any of the settings I have - DNS, Time Zone, PSK, any field which can be edited and click Save.
The Save takes place and the screen refreshes to the old settings - the new settings don't stay in place after the Save.
I've also factory defaulted the AP prior to the upgrade, upgraded and then been in the same place unable to save any changed settings.

I have three pairs of ASA5510 firewalls, each pair configured as a failover pair. When each pair boots up, even if I boot up the primary first, when they are both up and the primary/active syncs to the secondary/standby, the primary always switches to standby and the secondary thus becomes active.
What would cause this? It happens on all three pairs. Does failover look for the highest ID or IP address to determine which of the pair will be active?

Recently in the morning the router will have lost ability to connect to internet <internet light is on> and I cannot access the router page <sys light solid> from either wired or wireless connections. Why is this and will it be solved if I upgrade firmware?
I have a Netgear wgr614v7 wireless router that has been working perfectly for a couple weeks now, but I have suddenly run into a problem. For some reason, I can now only connect one laptop at a time to the network. When I try to connect a second laptop, it says, "Windows was unable to connect to [network name]". When I try to connect with my Macbook, it says "network timed out".
My computer suddenly doesnt recognize my router.it recognizes othrer routers, and my other PC's are recognizing the router.the router is located very close to the PC, and no other electronic devices located near by.
I have a Dlink Dir-615 router and a Motorola SB6120 Modem. For some reason the router suddenly says it's receiving internet access from the modem. It has worked for several months beforehand. I tried another Dlink modem and got the same results. I have my computer hooked directly to the modem hence the ability to make this post.
I have a Netgear wgr614v7 wireless router that has been working perfectly for a couple weeks now, but I have suddenly run into a problem. For some reason, I can now only connect one laptop at a time to the networkWhen I try to connect, it says, "Windows was unable to connect to [network name]". When I try to connect with my Macbook, it says "network timed out". Before, I was able to connect all three without any problems.
Suddenly either of my 2 wireless routers won't work. Modem works fine directly to pcIntroducing wireless router to the mix, not working. Everything hooked up correctly.
My dlink dir 628 wireless router suddenly stopped working yesterday. If I plug the ethernet cable directly into my computer and the internet works. I see the wireless profile in the options for the wireless internet, but when I try to connect, it is unable to do so.
I've tried resetting the router (using the button on the device) witand reinstalling the router (using the CD), but still not working. Also have tried turning off the modem, router, and restarting my computer.
Up until about midnight tonight, my router, which has been plugged in to my cable modem, has been working fine for years, both wired and wirelessly. Suddenly, however, I went to log on to my desktop PC (wired connection; Windows 7), and I had no network connection. ipconfig indicated "media disconnected." My cable-based phone service (VOIP) is still working fine at this time.
First attempt - unplug router, wait 15 seconds, plug it back in. Still no good, though my network sharing center indicated that the network connection was appearing/disappearing every few seconds, never actually getting "internet" connectivity.
Second attempt - attempted to use a WIFI-based device (iPad), which could not see my home network by name at all.
Third attempt - reset both the cable modem and the router, bringing the cable modem up FIRST. Same results as the first attempt.
Fourth attempt - plug the wired PC directly into the cable modem - this worked fine and is how I am submitting this post as I type. So the cable modem is working properly.
Fifth attempt - look up the information on how to reset the router to factory defaults. Used a paperclip to depress the reset button for 10- and on a subsequent attempt, 30-seconds (no obvious "reset" blink pattern was observed). Plug PC back in to router. PC would not obtain any DHCP-based IP address and the network sharing center was still behaving as in the first attempt.
Sixth attempt - disconnect the cable modem uplink and see if I could get the local network functioning. Now I noticed that the LED patterns on the router were behaving as:
- Power and my PC's slot number lit - All lights lit - All lights off - Power and my PC's slot number lit - etc
I have the Cisco series “Cisco 1700” routers operational at my client site, These router suddenly get reboot with 1 or 2 hrs gap. See the below errors which has been captured in router logs:
