I know my Modem/router is old but I am connecting okay to the internet with my laptop, the thing is my husband has just bought a Google Nexus Tablet and although it finds my Belkin Modem (model F5D7632-4) it says it's finding IP address, then says its saved and then connecting, but it dont connect. Also there is no security on it and it wont find my model number to add the security, is it me or what?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently rescued an old Belkin 54G router (Model: F5D7632-4) which I planned to use as an extra wireless access point towards the back of my house where I have some dead spots. I logged in on the Belkin's IP: 192.168.2.1 And went straight to change the IP and put it onto the same subnet as my router. I changed it to: 192.168.0.1 as I had it in my head my router was .254 My router is 192.168.0.1 so obviously this didn't do much and I couldn't access either device.
I unplugged my network and plugged directly into the Belkin to change to another IP and I cannot access it. The operation times out. I can access the normal router when I connect back up to the network fine. To solve this I decided to reset the router. The instruction manual for the Belkin says a momentary push on the reset will do a quick reset. while >20 seconds will perform a full hard reset. Both of these are signified by the power light flashing, and the reset is complete when the power light becomes solid again.
Unfortunately no matter how long I hold the reset button for, the light does not even blink and no reset happens. Obviously this may just be a dodgy reset switch, the router is getting quite old, so I will go in an short the reset pins by hand if I need to. The solution I am looking for is either to reset so I can start again - or obtain access to the router through some other means to change the IP and carry on. When I connect the Belkin to my network, the router cannot see it connected to it's Ethernet port. However the Belkin's link light occasionally flickers.
I have belkin f5d7632-4 router, it works ok wirelessley with my smartphone when it is 'open' but setting a passphrase on the router stops access from the phone even with the correct passphrase, other devices act the same as though it is the wrong passphrase

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter a day of troubleshooting I have finally got the QuickVPN client to work. I connect however during the connection I get: "Server's certificate doesn't exist on your local computer. Do you want to quit this connection?" I click no and it connects fine other than this error. So how do I get rid of this error? Also I have exported the client certificate from the RV110 and put it in the quickvpn directory as I saw suggested elsewhere.

I bought a new WRVS400n recently because it had Gigabit speed, wireless n and a built in VPN server. The device works perfect except for the Quick VPN client. I'm a system engineer so I thought I could set it up quite easy just like any other device I configured in the past. Painfull but it isn't like this.
I set up the VPN on the WRVS4400n and generated a certificate. I saved both the client and admin certificate to my pc, I gave them a name to easily make up the difference between both of them. When placing the certificate in the installed QuickVPN folder, it doesn't seem to get recognised by the QuickVPN software. When I try to connect, it says 'Server's certificate doens't exist on your local computer'. I guess the naming convention must meet some kind of format, is that correct? If so, this should have been described in the documentation.
Besides that I checked if the required ports used by the VPN server are open on the public port of the device, that is the case. So It seems I'm quite close to get it working.
The version of QuickVPN I used is 1.4.2.1. The WRVS4400n has the latest firmware loaded.

This works without any problems.Upstairs, my son has a PC (Windows XP) that connects via a Belkin USB G Network Adapter, model F5D7050, version 4.000uk. This worked perfectly, too.He has just got a new PC which I have bought from a friend. My friend used the tower of a previous PC my son had, which had died about 4 years back when the PSU blew and took everything out with it, and fitted the motherboard, graphics card, HDD, RAM etc etc (it uses Windows 7).
I downloaded the latest drivers from the Belkin site, installed them, but for the life of me, the new PC will not detect the network connection. At all. It doesn't find anything.So, I unplugged my PC from the router, and plugged the new PC into it. Unsurpisingly, it connected to the net without any problems. The next thing I did was to reconnect my PC to the router, and try my son's new PC wirelessly again with the Network Adaptor, in the same room. Again, it just doesn't find a network at all.The PC detects the Adapter being plugged in and out, and the light is on on it. I even tried his old PC with the Adapter, and that still finds the network perfectly.
I was on the phone to Belkin for 35 mins yesterday, and they went through everything, to no avail. They think the USB slots may be faulty, even though the PC knows when i'm plugging things into them.
If your wireless indicator is flashing red when you discover the smurf, it can mean that someone has tried to logon with an incorrect password. this is not necessarily an attack, it could be someone you have allowed access too, who has forgotten the password? In this case entering the correct password will solve the problem.However putting your own MAC address into the filter will simply block your own machine.

and the access-list does not exist in the configuration it will block everything meaning it will be an implicit deny empty access-list but lately i've noticed on new routers that its different,if i assign an acl to an interface where the acl doesnt exist in the configuration it acts as permit all,
Let me try to give as much info as I can to start. Running Windows 7 64bit Ultimate have all updates as of 01-16-2012. Recently had some malware that I removed not sure if there is a correlation. I am trying to connect my wireless connection on my pc to a router to run xbox and BD player. So I connect to my wireless network have my network card plugged into my router, connected to both networks. I go to properties on wireless connection click sharing tab check allow other network users to connect to the internet through this computer connection, also checked allow other network users to control or disable the shared internet connection. I click ok and get a error window that says in the title bar Network Connections the body of the window says, "An error occurred while Internet Connection Sharing was being enabled. The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion. I looked through services and device manager in non pnp drivers everything looks right to me... I am not super familiar with networking issues so I may have missed or overlooked something easily.

I have created a VPN client account on my RVS4000 router. I have installed Quick VPN on my laptop in the default directory -- Program Files (x86) / Cisco Small Business / Quick VPN Client
I have generated and exported a certificate -- RVS4000_Client.pem -- and placed that in the Program Files (x86) / Cisco Small Business / Quick VPN Client directory. When I attempt to connect using the Quick VPN client, I get the warning "Server's certificate doesn't exist on your local computer."
If I ignore the message I can log in, and ping resources inside the network and log into the router. However, I cannot mount any drives and the router shows that no VPN tunnels exist. I've read several posts here and elsewhere and can't seem to see where I've gone wrong.
Our company has a Server in the office to which we all map network drives.This server is backed up to a Cloud Server (egnyte.com). Whenever I am working on a database on the mapped network drive, it freezes up after 5-10 minutes with the alert "Your network access was interrupted.To continue, close the database,and then open it again."
This problem does not occur with any other Office Products,only Access.It happens to all databases on the server and to all users.
It does not do this when the file is saved on my desktop or when I am working on it directly through the cloud server. When working on the cloud server, however, I went to Compact and Repair my database and a window came up saying the file location did not exist and my whole database disappeared. It was already saved in the file location, I was just compacting and repairing.
Is there some problem with using a local server that backs up to a cloud that makes it lose connectivity every few minutes? Why is this only happening with Access?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been playing with multicasting on my home network and have hit a problem in that all multicast messages seem to be spewing out over the WIFI regardless of whether there any any subscribers present or not which is swamping all other WIFI traffic. The wired LAN seems to be behaving just fine (no traffic on the wired network if no subscribers present).
how do I filter the multicast messages so that they are not sent out over the WIFI (unless a WIFI subscriber is present)? I have tried enabling the IGMP proxy but it makes no difference. I've tried messing with lots of other parameters too but no joy. Does multicast filtering actually work (or exist) on the WAG320N?
I have an AIR-LAP1242AG-A-K9. Straight out of the box I thought it would have the GUI functional but this is not the case. I am brand new to Cisco products so it is taking me a while to get use to them and to TelNet but from what I have read in about 6 different manuals none have explained how I can access the configure terminal command when It doesn't show up. I am in privileged mode with access of: AP001c.588e.a266#show privilege. Current privilege level is 15.If I can't get into global configuration mode I cant enable the GUI, turn on the wireless.

The user would never be able to authenticate as it no longer exists in ACS (it was the user for someone who left the company 3-4 month ago)
The other wierd thing is that the caller-id is 0.0.0.0 BTW the NAS is a Cisco ASA firewall running 8.0(3)
