D-Link DIR-825 :: Internet Does Not Work On Computer Hooked Up To Cable

Aug 20, 2012

I just bought a DIR-835 Router. the wireless works good-the problem however is the PC I have hooked up to the cable box, now the internet works only occasionally. I have tried disabling the firewall ,etc. The only time I can get the internet on the cable box connected PC to work is when I reset the router. I have a Gateway PC with Windows XP, I use Google Chrome. I assume it must be a Router setting that needs correcting. My previous D-Link router worked fine with the cable connected PC.

Multiple PCs Hooked Up To A LAN - Internet Disconnects Constantly

May 31, 2011

So i have 2 laptops and various phones and iPods hooked up to my network via the wireless and have 3 computers, 2 PS3s, 2 XBox 360s hooked up via LAN cable (These are not always running all at the same time). From time to time (it varies on time of day) the internet disconnects from all the computers in the house but the LAN stays connected. It will sometimes come back online if you wait anywhere from 30 seconds to half an hour at times. Manually restarting the modem by unplugging it for a while and plugging it back in sometimes works, at other times it does not. We replaced the switch and the router so far trying to eliminate them as the problem to no avail. We have not replaced the modem yet. My ipconfig info is below:

Modem / Router Hooked-up But No Internet Access For Wired

Linksys Wireless Router :: Using WRT120N Hooked To PC Already On Internet?

Apr 22, 2012

For home use, I have a Windows Vista PC which is hooked up to the Internet via a wireless EV/DO modem that plugs into a USB port. I just bought an iPad and for connectivity, I then bought a WRT120N wireless router. But I cannot attach the EV/DO modem to the WRT120N since the EV/DO only has a USB port. I plugged the PC into one of the 4 ports of the WRT120N and the iPad sees the router, but what I would like is that it also sees the internet when the PC is online via the EV/DO modem. Is there a way to configure this? I realize that the PC would always have to be switched on if I want to have the iPad online, but for the time being I am ok with that.

Cisco WAN :: 815 / Connect To Internet Small Office Where Docsis (internet Over Tv Cable) Is Used As WAN

Aug 12, 2011

I want to connect to the Internet small office where docsis (internet over tv cable) is used as WAN.For similar tasks but other WANs (adsl, dial-up) I used 800 series. But now I can't find anything in this series to solve my issue. There is 815 but it has no wi-fi.

I can use cable modem that my ISP gave to me: this modem acts as bridge so I can use router with FE-based WAN but it is better to have one device instead of two.

No Internet Access Via Cat5 Cable Wireless Or Internet Dongle?

Aug 24, 2012

I have a Sony Vaio running Windows 7 Home Premium. Yesterday I accessed the Internet at the office over a Cat5 cable. Last night I accessed the Internet at home via my USB Internet dongle (actually an O2 mobile phone). Today neither works. I have also tried to connect to the Internet via Wireless and that does not work either.Needless to say my desktop (using the same Cat5 cable) works. My mobile phone can access the Internet on it own. And others can get the wireless to work.My Vaio can connect to all three; however, all three say "No Internet access".I changed nothing between last night and this morning. I have scanned through the list of Windows Updates and nothing has been downloaded in the past week. I have turned off my firewalls (in both McAfee and Symantec Endpoint Protection). I have run the three NETSH reset commands with Administrator privileges. I have rebooted my machine numerous times. Nothing works.

Get Internet Through Cable But No Wireless

Jun 27, 2011

My computer is only one month old. I did a clean install of Windows 7 on it and a clean install of Ubuntu 11.04 (dual boot). With Ubuntu, the wireless works without issue. In Windows, the connection is fine through a cable, but wireless networks are not detected at all. Since I did a clean install, I had to install drivers manually. I got these from the Samsung website (my laptop is a Samsung Q430). I think that my Wireless card is Broadcom but I am not sure. The wireless did work at the start, but there were connectivity issues, and so I removed the wireless driver from the device manager and reinstalled the Broadcom drivers. Now I can't get any wireless at all in Windows.

I think I may be missing some drivers, but I'm not sure. I have the Broadcom Wireless Utility but I can't get it to do anything useful. Right now I'm connected through a cable. Here is the result of ipconfig / all.

Wireless Connection From Cox Cable Internet?

Jul 12, 2011

I setup my own wireless connection using Cox Cable some time ago and it's been working with no problems. Today I tried to setup my sister's laptop with a wireless connection also with Cox Cable. Router is setup correctly and the connection says signal strength is excellent. However, the computer will not connect to the Internet. She has a Motorola Modem which a Cox Tech says he can see the modem so that's ok. I noticed the on the Modem the PC Connectivity light is amber and steady. While I have a different modem with the same company, my PC Connectivity light is green and it blinks from all the Internet activity P.S. All other setting are correct i.e. Obtain IP address automatically, DNS setting, DCHP etc.

Cable Internet Suddenly Goes Slow

Feb 17, 2012

I normally have fairly speedy cable internet (12 MBPS) and it has never caused me any issues in the past. My ISP is a company called Ygnition (not the best). My problem is as follows: I was using my internet on Tuesday to play an online game (SW:TOR) and I walked away from my computer for about 30 minutes, and when I returned I had been disconnected from the game and the internet appeared to be non-functional. I've now discovered that the internet IS CONNECTED but it is INCREDIBLY slow. It takes at least ten minutes to load the google homepage and websites like speedtest.net are unusable. I obviously cannot use the internet with any efficiency, much less log into an online game.

Cable Connected But No Internet Access?

Mar 8, 2011

I have plugged my computer into the modem by way of a Ethernet cable and I immediately got a Local Area Network 2 icon that said a network cable is unplugged. Ive checked the cable with this PC, and it works. i tried this:1.) Shut dowm your PC.2.) Unplug the power cord. 3.) If you have a laptop, remove the battery as well. 4.) Walk away from the problem for at least 30 minutes. 5.) When you return, reconnect battery and power cord.5.) Start as usual.6.) If this solves the problem, take 20 minutes and post this to all of those message boards that you didn't find the solution to.

And This:Try a Simple Power Cycle ( as it is called so in Tech Terms )i,e Switch of the Computer/S , Router, Modem of your ISP Wait for 4 to 5 mins Switch on the Modem -- Wait untill all the lights come up and then again wait for 2 mins Switch on the Router -- Wait for 3 mins Switch on all other computers that are working, then check conectivity Switch on this computer that has a problem, then Try browsing.

This resolves most issues ( Basically it is the static in the unused ports that gets discharged )It that does not happen, delete all existing Lan Connection, Uninstall your network Driver, Reinstall the Drivers, then reconfigure you net connection then try It still that does not work out and you still get the " Network Cable Unplugged " Msg Then Unplug the Cable Then go to Start > Run > type regedit Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSIDThen Delete the key below {7007ACCF-3202-11D1-AAD2-00805FC1270E} Then Restart the comp and reconnect the cable and then tryand this:Using windows xp, the quick fix for this is to reinstall the drivers for your NIC
