I have seen that when ever i am using the packet data connection (GPRS/EDGE) on mobile and if a Voice Call comes, the Package data will be stopped and once the call gets disconnected it will resume sending the data. For 3G Data the same is not happening, at the time of voice call it will continue sending the Packet data.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to use the Cisco ATA 186 as a SIP device with Cisco Call Manager 7. However, I have found that the SIP firmware for the Cisco ATA 186 is unsupported by Call Manager 7.Therefore, In order to use the ATA as a SIP device with the Call Manager, I believe I will need setup the ATA as a 3rd Party SIP device by doing the following:
1. Disable the TFTP option within the ATA, so that the SIP firmware is not overwritten by firmware from the TFTP server.
2. Install the 3.2.1 SIP firmware on the ATA, since the ATA is currently running the 3.2.4 SCCP firmware.
3. Register the ATA, as a third-party SIP device, with the Call Manager .Should I register the ATA as a 3rd party device?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI own a wireless router (ZTE W300) and due to the large number of devices in my house, and limited broadband usage, can I limit downloads/uploads (in other words, limit data usage) to a particular device over the network?I think the stock firmware on my router doesnt allow that (and its pretty base level too). If so, do you recommend any other firmware that can do the task, and is compatible with my router?
View 1 Replies View Relatedhow to configure vlan tag on routed layer 3 interface in cisco 3945 device?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe following picture is from a network in a hotel:
- Cisco 3825 is managed by AT&T. No access to this.
- There is no Layer 3 device in this network.
- Access Gateway at 100.1 operates at Layer 2. It receives tagged traffic in order to keep track of billings and user accounts so we can't add a Router in internal network. (Please verify)
- WLC's Management Interface lives in VLAN 100 at 100.2 with Default Gateway of 100.1
- Another WLC with Management Interface different VLAN than above, will be connected to the "Core Switch" to have Mobility.
- With Mobility Groups, IP connectivity must exist between the management interfaces of all controllers.
- Routing between VLANs need a Layer 3 device.
Any possible solutions to establish IP connectivity about the following:
- Changing Management Interface VLAN on one side and match it with the other side to eliminate Routing Requirements and having Inter-Controller Roaming instead of Inter-Subnet Roaming. (Reboot required?)
- Adding a NAT device between two WLCs and use Proxy ARP. (Haven't done this before, does this work?)
- Do you have better solution(s) in mind?
one last try before boxing up my new DIR-655 and taking it back to Microcenter. I've opened a case via email and got the standard response, below.I have a Dlink DP-300U print server that works fine with my 'old' Belkin router, a F5D-7230-4 wireless unit. Nothing wrong with the Belkin, I'm just getting some service drops from my lousy AT&T ifitl 1.5mbps ISP and thought a new router might work. I actually read the manual (!!) before installing the DIR-655 and even followed it. The print server just isn't visible on the network. Everything else is, though. The 'suggestions' from Dlink tech support below are very useful. If I could 'see' the print server to verify its IP address, we wouldn't be having this conversation. I've rebooted everything, several times and even reinstalled my old Belkin router (which always sees the print server.) And Dlink, no...I'm not interested in paying you $32.95 for up to a half hour to maybe fix a problem caused by your new device. And dropping my call after almost 15 minutes on hold is not cool, either. With reference to the issue you are facing, we suggest you to kindly ensure that the IP address assigned to DP-300U print server is in the same network range as that of your DIR-655.
NOTE: The default IP address of DIR-655 is 192.168.0.1 Once it is done, try to ping the IP address of DP-300U using any of the wired / wireless client connected to DIR-655.note the DP-300U is not currently supported in North America. D-Link offers a premium fee based support line that will be able to support any issues you have with this product.
i followed the instructions on the link and I can not for the life of me get my NAT to display OPEN or even Moderate. Always says STRICT. I have tried all the link and all the videos about forwarding ports followed all the instructions to the T. But the PS3 in the DMZ. And still, Nothing. It's BS.

I can successfully make and receive VoIP calls via a Cisco SPA 303 IP phone, my iPhone 4S and a sogtphone on my MacBook PRO, using both DrayTEL and Sipgate as ITSPs. The Cisco phone is one of seven connected through the 3CX PBX software; but the iPhonne and the MacBook bypass the PBX and connect directly to the ITSP via the TP-Link router and the staellite modem. However, when I try to make or recive a second (simultaneous) call, both calls start breaking up.This happens both with the Cisco phones and with the iPhone and MacBook; so it's not a problem with the Cisco phone or with the 3CX soft PBX, since neither of these is involved when using the iPhone and the MacBook.I have tried various port forwarding configurations over the last few weeks, but still the problem persists. The current forwarding arrangement is ports 5060-5080 and 5090 and 9000-9049 for the PC running the 3CX software, and ports 5160-5180 for the MacBook. The iPhone has sipgate.co.uk set as both the Local and the External PBX IP, and the PBX port is 5060. The Local SIP port is 5964 and the Fisrt RTP port is 4000.
How does a device attached to a Cisco IP Phone send data to the switch?a. As tagged (using the voice VLAN)b. As untaggedc. As tagged (using the data VLAN)d. As tagged (using the CoS value)The correct question is A in the book though it said that tagging is switch process PC's doesn't tag frames.

We want to use a Cisco 861 Ethernet router to link our LAN's data and voice segments together (each on separate switches). Our switches are not Layer3 so routing over them is not an option. We only use the default VLAN1 on both switches. There is a data segment 192.168.1.0/24 and a voice segment 192.168.150.0/24, each with it's own internet/WAN access (internet for the data lan and SIP provider for the voice lan).
Diagram:
internet-~--router_192.168.1.1------192.168.1.0/24_data_lan--------192.168.1.254_cisco861_192.168.150.254-----192.168.150.0/24_voice------192.168.150.1_router--~-sip_provider
This is want i want to achieve:
- Link the data and voice switches using the 861
- I want to make the Cisco 861 the default gw on both segments, but they should only route traffic destined for the other segment to each other and route all other traffic to their segment's designated internet connection. I don't want the Cisco to do any NATting and there's no need for firewalling either.
I want to setup VLAN with the switches SG300 and SLM2024. What is the suggestion to connect these 2 switches. We have the Juniper net screen.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a question if I Stack a Catalyst 3750 L3 with a Catalyst just L2, will we able to use all L3 capabilities?
Switches are
WS-C3750G-24TS-E1U
WS-C3750V2-24PS-S
We have 2 sites that are actually connected through a 10 Mbps cooper link.
In site A we have a 3750G- SW
in site B we have a 2960Poe SW
This link has in each end a ISP's router (allied Tele sis)
This link is working fine. Now we contracted with the ISP a new link, 30 Mbps fiber, and we need to replace de "old" one...
in this case the IPS only gave us a transceiver so we have UTP instead fiber, no routers. the 10Mbps and 30Mbps links in were hired to be layer 2 only.
Is possible to create a config in site B SW to make it work? I was searching and see this IOS command: spanning-tree link-type point-to-point. could this do the rick? Or is absolutely necessary to use a router?
P.S: Actual config of the port in use is:
Site A:
interface GigabitEthernet1/0/5
description description NEW LINK Fiber - UPLINK TO SW4
Site B:
interface GigabitEthernet0/1
description NEW - Fiber - UPLINK TO SW1

I have a cabled network printer, Xerox Phaser 6125n, that have always worked properly from my 3 desktop computers and my laptop.A few days ago, my old dlink router went dead, and I replaced it with the TP-Link WDR4300 router. Everything worked as usual afterwards, until I found out I could no longer print on my printer. I can access the printers web interface through the ip adress, change settings and such through the browser, but the printer has offline status in windows and print jobs never leaves the print queue in windows. I tried deleting the printer in windows (tried both windows 7 and 8) to reinstall it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a setup where there are two networks. A 172.16.0.0/16 and a 10.1.0.0/16 that are separated by the dlink router. I am able to ping from the 172 network to the 10 network using a laptop that is directly connected to the router and that laptop can also browse the web fine. However, I cannot ping to that router or access that subnet at all from the 10 network (if I try to access its LAN (the 172 network)). The 172 network is on its LAN and the 10 network is its WAN. I can access its WAN fine. Also, there the router is not recognizing the laptop as a "directly connected deivce" but its not preventing the laptop from using the router. I have tried to make the router as least secure as possible but still nothing.
I thought about making Static Route to point towards the router's LAN but the only option it gives me is the WAN for the exit interface.
We have a RV042 with the lastes firmware v4.1.1.01-sp. We try to use Aastra SIP Phone 55i. Phone work perfectly with no router. But behind router call cut off after 5 minutes. Phone registration SIP periode are 30 second. Block WAN Request, and Multicast Passthrough firewall setting are desactivate.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've turned up a new layer 2 WAN link between two data centres and i'm having some trouble trying to logically figure out how things should be configured. As you can see from the diagram i've created, I have the link connected on port 13 on one switch and port 14 on the other. Both ports have an IP address assigned to them and they can both ping each other..
The problem comes when I need to add routes in order to get traffic flowing over the link.I added an IP address to switch 2 on the link interface (port 14) as: 192.168.4.10
I then added an IP address to switch 1 on the link interface (port 13) as:
192.168.1.10
192.168.2.10
When I tried to add 192.168.3.10, it said "192.168.3.0 overlaps with VLAN2626". This would be correct as Vlan 2626 has an IP address of 192.168.3.15.
However, if I remove the IP address from vlan 2626 and add 192.168.3.10 to vlan 2 (the link port VLAN), I would surely lose remote access to the switch. (I'm telnetting into the switch from a machine on vlan 2626).
I started to tinker with this by manually adding a route to a server in each location and seeing if I could get traffic to flow:
On server 1: route add 192.168.4.0 MASK 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.10 METRIC 1
On server 2: route add 192.168.1.0 MASK 255.255.255.0 192.168.4.10 METRIC 1
If I try to tracert 192.168.1.20 from server 2, the first hop is the default gateway instead of 192.168.4.10.
The ultimate goal is to add the static routes to the Layer 3 router/firewall, but before I do that, I need to be sure of what to add to that router (It's a manged firewall from the data centre, so I don't have access to it and I need to raise firewall change requests to get the work done, so want to ensure it's right first time.
So I used to use a Thomson TG585v7 modem router (wireless) as my means of connecting to the internet, the aerial cracked on it and I began getting dropped connections, so I went out and bought a D-Link DSL-2730B modem+router. I am hooked up wirelessly to the internet as there is no phone jack in my bedroom, and I experience massive and prolonged lag while playing call of duty 4 multiplayer, which I never had before with my old Thomson modem. My ping also shoots up to about 400 and then 999 while I teleport around the map.

I am setting up a link between buildings that uses wireless links. I'm using Layer 3 routed ports on 2 3560 switches to handle the routing between sites. Normally I would just put these in a /30 and then the switches handle the rest. However, the wireless access points have a web interface for managing them that I want to be able to access, but it's only available on the single NIC that also carries traffic. What would be the best way of making this work? Should I make the link a /29 and give the access points an IP in the same range? If this is the case what do I use for the default gateway for the access points?
I have included a diagram to try to explain the issue clearer. The IP addresses in black are what I would do if this were a standard cable (and indeed this will work, but I wont be able to access the admin interface of the wireless AP) and the red ip addresses are the alternative if I use a /29 (but as I said, I'm not sure what to use for the default gateways).

I made some changes on my wireless modem router to stop dhcp and dns provided by my device. A server is now doing it, but at the same time I appear to have connection issues where I didn't before. In an attempt to resolve the issues I looked at the System Log and a number of things were coming up that concerned me. These are as follows:
-user: tr69c: Unable to retrieve attributes in scratch PAD
-user: Stored Parameter Attribute data is corrupt or missing
Additionally I'm getting a lot of kernel: Intrusion alerts which I can't determine how serious they are. Where to start tracking down these issues (if they even warrant investigation).
