I had a BT homehub with regular dropouts. I have changed it for a Belkin wireless router. I am now unable to stream music from laptop to Yamaha 671 or connect with wifi printer.My internet is working fine and I can communicate with my Dreambox and Vu Duo with no problem at all. Both these devices and the Yamaha are hard wired to the router.

I can change the IPs and setting of the right side network.I want to be able to access all devices of the two network from my computer but in the same time the two network work as usual with no problems ( the same when they are sperate).One option is to set the LAN of modem 2 to 192.168.2.2 and connect one of the LAN port to LAN port of the Mkrotik router. I have installed a video security system into my home/office and several IP cameras are connected via my wired cat5 network which connects to my router and switcher into a PC with internet access. This will allow me to record any break ins and alert me of this event and view it in real time.I would like to restrict access to these devices for anyone else on the network, with either dedicated access or password protection.

I also with a wireless connection to a Grace internet radio and a DAP 1522 (with the latest firmware 1.31) set up as a bridge with my direct tv box connected . The DIR-655 ip is 192.168.2.1, Grace radio ip is 192.168.2.177, DAP-1522 ip is 192.168.2.3 and Direct TV box ip is 192.168.2.173. My PC is hardwired to the DIR-655. I can ping all devices from my PC, but cant ping the DAP 1522, Direct TV Box or Grace Internet Radio from my IPAD. I have no trouble connecting to the DIR-655 from my Ipad. It only seems to be anything thats connected wireless to the DIR-655 that I cant access from my IPAD. All devices have the same subnet of 255.255.255.0 and gateway of 192.168.2.1.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently went into my router and changed my security settings so that my router is WEP protected. I was having issues with somebody feeding off on my connection and causing problems with my Internet provider. I had changed it to be a secured network before but somehow it became unsecured. So, I set up an admin password and such so nobody else should be able to get into my outer . Anyway, after setting it up to with the WEP, now I cannot access the Internet from any other device except my main PC to which the router is connected.I usually get some sort of error stating that there is "limited on no connectivity" when I try to connect my laptop or Archos Home Tablet device. Yet, is reads that the signal strength is excellent and recognizes my network as existing.

Finally I would like to block internet access to all devices not in one of the above groups. I need to use MAC addressing to identify the allowed devices. I was able to do this with my old WRT-54G but the DIR-825 is giving me trouble.My main problem occurs when I try to block access to "Other Machines". When I do that all devices on my network are cut off the internet.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a RV120W used to provide VPN access to several industrial devices. Some of these devices are assigned IP address via DHCP in the router. One cannot do DHCP, so it has a self-determined static IP.
The VPN works well for all the devices that are assigned IP's. However, it does not allow me to connect to the device that has a static IP. I can connect to it fine when I am on the LAN or WLAN, but cannot ping it via the VPN.

8 Port G Switch = SBS2008 / Win2003 with Citrix / Win2K8 Management Server - plus a couple of desktops for Gig to server access.
I connected on the 8 port Gig SW a new Server running Windows 2012 Hyper-V and am not able to ping the PIX - I disabled the firewall and made sure the network location of the HV server is set properly. From the PIX if I try to ping the HV server it fails but I can do a sh arp and the MAC address of the HV server is there. I can ping the HV server from any other device connected to the Gig SW. I can not ping the CE500 from the HV server but I do see the HV server MAC address in the MAC table of the CE500 SW. I tried plugging the HV server into G1 on the CE500 and same thing - the MAC shows up on the correct port but no traffic seems to pass. I have had issues with this switch in the past where a printer would not communicate between the Gig ports and the FE ports - I moved the printer to the Gig switch and made all the users print via print server and forgot about it.
Had the following network (fully functional) for last 3 years: Modem (netopia dsl 192.168.1.254) router (linksys wrt54gs 192.168.1.1) WAP1 (linksys wrt54g2 192.168.1.250) and WAP2 (Linksys wrt54g2).I was always able to click on Devices and Printers in Win 7 and would see the equipment displayed.I could also access the router and wireless access points by typing their address in my browser. The modem failed after 5 years.I purchase a new Netgear N300 ADSL2+Modem Router (DGN2200)and replaced the failed modem and attached router.I made no changes to either WAP's.Everything works just fine (after about 30 minutes on phone with Netgear Tech to configure), but now none of the equipment displays in Devices and Printers. Also, I cannot connect to either WAP by typing their address in browser.I can see the Netgear device when I click on "network" in file manager.It displays a model number and is labeled a "gateway".
I'm just curious as to why I am no longer able to "see" or access the devices. Looks like I would have to actually pull the WAP's and connect to them directly if I needed to change their configurations.
I just set up my e2000 on a PC using Windows 7. I am additionally trying to set up additional devices on the network. The two that I am currently working with are:Dell Latitude d240 running Windows XP.HTC Evo smartphone running Android
I can't get these on the network through the e2000. They can access the internet through the e2000 but only as a guest and therefore don't have the same level of security. What do I need to do to successfully put the above devices on the network?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a big house so I have a e4200 on one end of the house upstairs and the WAP610n on the other end downstairs linked via CA6. I am having no issues with Laptops etc..just with Apple devices. I spent a lot of time with chat support (waste of time). WAP was flashed with latest firmware via hard wire no devices connected to wireless, has same ssid and security settings as router running on 2.4 ghz wpa2 personal AES. I am using 2.4 due to iphone4 does not support 5ghz and wap does not support dual band (another bummer). I am using AES instead of TKIP/AES mixed mode due to apple devices will not acquire dhcp with this setting and if they do they lose it right away. I have tried everything imaginable with the settings even changed beacon to 75, 50 RTS to 2304 etc...the current setting are the only ones that seem to work the best however when i run speedtest.net LA server or SD server the performance is horrible. On windows laptop i can achieve 27mbps down 2.5mbpsup, my apple devices use to achieve very close numbers to that on a simple configuration with two Dlink DGL-4300's one as router one as AP (G mode). So two major issues i have noticed is WAP610N has issues passing DHCP to apple devices and has extremely poor performance. So my question is will there be a firmware to correct this issue or a new hardware version that i can exchange this for if I RMA it or would it be best to call it a day and just get a E3200 and use it as a real simultaneous dual band AP???

I am quite new at wireless connectivity.I would like to add wireless devices, specifically a phone and a laptop, but I do not want ANY of the wireless devices to be able to access and make changes to the ROUTER or any other computers on the network. If I enable WLAN, security, layer 3 web policy, when an iPAD / iPhone connects, they get directed to the Web Auth splash page, on where they must enter username & password. My users do not want to be directed to this page everytime they login - just select the SSID and connect - is there a way of authenticating guests via a WLC4400 without going through the splash page everytime?

Anyways, my problem is the device in my new VLAN (vlan200) are able to ping/access devices on vlan1. I do not want this to happen. I read somewhere that the 871 routes between VLAN's by default.
View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently, I have configured a small Wireless Network with Cisco 2500 WLC (25 AP License) running version 7.3.101.0 ,Total 15 APs were installed and associated with the Controller successfully.I have configured WLAN with WPA2-PSK.
I came across a strage issue, where all Android devices can't access Internet via Wireless.When I checked the Controller log, the Android devices (Phones, Tablets) are successfully authenticated and associated to the Wireless Network (They got the IP Address from the DHCP Server configured on the Switch) but they can't access internet.
There is no issue with Apple devices (IPhones, IPADs) and Wireless Laptops. Even the Apple devices and laptops getting IP Assigned from the Same DHCP pool configured on the Switch.
Any issue connecting just Android devices? All other devices connect fine.
Is there any limitation/configuration on the WLC which restricts the Internet Access only to the Android devices?
I have a Linksys WAG200G, I only use it for 2 devices a Win 7 PC and an iPad.
Surfing the net is fine, I'm get an average of 30ms when I ping to my local ISP.
But when I try to stream music or movies from my PC to iPad via iTunes, it starts playing for a couple of seconds then it stops, and then it will start again for a few more seconds. I tried pinging from PC to iPad and get a range from 400ms-2500ms.
I'm not sure which settings I need to adjust to make it work correctly.
My PC will connect just fine, but it is the only device on my network that the router will allow internet access. The router will allow other devices (DVR, laptop, nook) to connect to it, but won't allow those devices to connect to the internet. Each device will show the same error, - "connected to linksys - no internet". I've reset the router many times with no results.

I can access the cameras from my local LAN both when using the local 10. ..and external 99 .. Addresses. When I go off the local connection - Access does not work. Slingbox did its auto configuration and I can access it. I just cant get to camera devices (Panosonic, Foscam, etc.).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a WRT54g with Tomato firmware. I am trying to set up a WAP54g to extend the range but while that access point does show up as a network, nothing can connect to it. I already have the router's MAC address put in the WAP. I think the problem is that I have Tomato on the router and that conflicts with the default firmware on the WAP. Range isn't really the problem, I just need to strengthen the signal in a specific area that it's not getting to because of walls. I can't even switch to previous versions of Tomato anymore. I may have just bricked it.Some facts about my setup-My modem has default settings: PPPoE connection with a DHCP server enabled.-I set the router to use DHCP and put it in "Access Point" mode.
-The WAP is set to repeater mode and it was set to Static IP configuration by default. I simply followed the instructsions here: url....
-There are three different MAC addresses: The WAN, LAN/router, and the Wireless. I put the Wireless MAC address in the access point. Is that correct?
-My desktop is wired directly to the router and it has a static IP outside the router DHCP's IP range-UPnP is enabled by default in the modem and router, but I'd like to try to get this working rather than buy all new equipment.
I am running an E3000 with Firmware - 1.0.04.
I would like to schedule my boys ipods to be on the network from 2:00pm to 4:00pm each day.
Running the Cisco connect software it would appear I can schedule from 2pm until the next morning but not a 2 hour window in the same afternoon.
Looking through other posts I see earlier software where this can maintained through the Router firmware but with 1.0.04 I seem to have to use Cisco Connect.
So how can this be done with my current configuration ?
I have installed 4 of these units in a commercial premises offering free wifi. Since the day they were installed (5Months ago) we had connectivity issues with mobile devices. This was somewhat resolved in the latest FW 1.0.04 but we are still having random disconnections on the units every 2 - 4 days and have to reboot the units. Lately the units have become unresponsive and reset themselves back to factory settings.
What we have done so far:
Changed router models - No change
Changed from Static IPs & DHCP - No change
Turned on isolation - No change
Performed a wifi analysis to pick the best channel for each unit - Slight signal gain but still disconnects
Changed to 20Mhz only (And all other variations) - No change
I think I am left with no option but to return these for some other brand. I'm really regretting buying these units at the minute...

We have configured all devices on the network with a 10.10.10.0/24 address space. The inside interface of the ASA i 10.10.10.1/24 and the VPN return addresses are 10.10.10.50 - 10.10.10.65/24.They users can utilize SSH and Oracle or MySQL calls but cannot seem to ping. Obviously, I am over looking something.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have installed my new E4200 and it works beautifully. I have several wirelss adapters and a few wired connections through powerline adapters. I also have a second VPN router attached to the 4200.I can see the wireless connected devices with the associated IP addresses. If I plug a laptop directly into the Cisco, I can of course see it.However, I can see none of the devices attatched to the powerline devices? I have a securty cam connected via the powerline and want to know the IP address. I checked with cisco technical support via chat and they said it is impossible. I have used 2 previous routers with the same configuration and can see all devices.
