Connecting A Sprint Overdrive Device To A Server?
Mar 30, 2011I am currently a student in a computer repair class and have recieved an assignment for troubleshooting a network through a Sprint overdrive device. The current setup in the room (which worked with a previous device but not the same model) is the internet going into the server VIA ethernet port and sent back out through the server into a switch. From there it connects to another switch that connects roughly 10 computers. The overdrive device is a WiFi hotspot device and the director of the network wants me to make the network with the ability of connecting to the internet through the Device. We have placed a Wireless USB device on the server to recieve the signal from the Overdrive device. The server can connect to the internet. When we try to send the signal out from the server we get a IP conflict. I have tried switching the IP's and still do not get it to work.

Aug 2, 2012Our home has poor cell reception, so Sprint sent us one of their Airaves to fix the problem, but in doing so it's opened another for me. I used to be able to open ports and host applications for people to connect to, but after installing the Airave this is no longer possible.Even if the ports are opened on the router (a D-Link) and an "ALLOW always" rule added to the Airave, the port still registers as being closed whenever I check it or host something. What gives? Is there a way I can make the Airave's firewall be ignored entirely or something? I just miss being able to host games.

Been working on this for about a week now, still no success. I confirmed I am using the latest update version/build.Trying to connect to my Ipad. TPLink Software says Identified, but only goes toward "Connecting" and never connects.All the ISP/Subnet numbers are "0". Set to 3g/4g only setting. Tried with security password and with security disabled.Customer support asked me to call Sprint to confirm dial number is #777 and that is confirmed. Sprint also confirmed APN is not needed to connect to a wireless router using a USB modem (this is a U600, which is on the TPLink compatable list). There is some internet posting that says the APN for Sprint is internet.com but I tried this too, and it still wont connect.

After I connect USB adapter, it shows Wireless connection icon in right bottom but when I right click to wireless network connection in Network connections - it gives me on 2 options - General & Advanced. I don't see Wireless Network tab.If connect the Sprint card to my laptop & try to connect the laptopn, it works. Mar 8, 2012I have a WRT300N wireless router that was working fine until I tried hooking up an Air ave Access Point for Sprint. Now the router doesn't work at all - even the hard wired connections don't work. I tried the usual - unplugging, plugging back in, disconnecting, reconnecting, hitting the reset button - nada.
Removing the Air ave Access Point doesn't matter - it still doesn't work when I put it back the way I had it before. The only way I can get a signal to my computer is to plug it directly into the modem, bypassing the router.

Jan 11, 2011I have Verizon FIOS. I am using their Actiontec router. I turned on WPA2. All is working well. I wanted to turn it off to diagnose a problem with one device. I can see no way to turn it off. To turn it on you click WPA2. you put in an 8 digit "password" etc and it works. There seems to be no way to turn it off. Am I overlooking something? I tried deleting the password. but it gives you an error and remindes you the password needs to be 8 characters.

I have two ps3's hard wierd to the provided router, and one laptop running wirelessly. The problem is this: when the two ps3's are playing call of duty at the same time, whichever ps3 that was turned on first shows it has an open NAT type and whichever ps3 is turned on second shows a moderate NAT type (this makes them unable to play together online). I am familiar with prot forwarding but not sure if i can do this for two separate ps3's. So i hard wired a second router to the old router and ran everything out of the new one. Only now they are both a moderate NAT type. Ive played around with the UPnP settings, but dont really know what else i can do.

Mar 24, 2011I use Bit Torrent to trade Grateful Dead concert recordings (all legit trading). I have Verizon DSL, a Westell 6100G Modem and a Linksys WRT 160N V2 Router. The Modem is located at 192.168.1.1 and the Router at 192.168.2.1. In the router setup page I have properly forwarded and triggered my ports. However, when I visit my torrent site, it tells me that I am firewalled or "NAT". I used to have the Linksys WRT54G Router and it was configured to PPPoE and everything worked fine. One day I did a firmware upgrade on the router and it would no longer connect to the internet. I switched ti to Automatic Configuration - DHCP and it connected, but performance was slow and this NAT issue began. I eventually got the new router and I have the same problem. If I set it to PPPoE, put in he username and password, I lose my internet connection. If set to Automatic Config - DHCP it works, but, again, "NAT".
Verizon told me that this newer modem self configures itself as PPPoE and there is no need to set the router to PPPoE but I can't seem to get these ports forwarded or get around this NAT issue. It is causing a significant loss of performance and while torrenting I can not connect to others, meaning I can not share what I have downloaded (the torrent client won;t upload). I have been screwing with this for months and have spent endless hours on the phone with Verizon - Linksys says my router is out of warranty so they want $39.95/month for tech support.I have been working with the tech support team on my torrent website and they can't get it figured out either.
