I have a pocket wifi which allows you to connect up to five devices. my mum, sister and my phone can access it no problems but my laptop wont work.what will happen is:
- it connects automatically to the wifi
- but it has a little error mark on it
- and it says theres no internet access.
ive tried everything, ive ran several windows network diagnostics and it says the problem is the default gateway being unavailable.

I am trying to set up a PPTP VPN connection which also provides internet access. I have the following configuration. The router named "Router1" connects 2 computers PC1 and PC2 on the LAN side with a network address of 192.168.1.0/24. It is a PPTP server and a DHCP server. It gives IP addresses to PC1 and PC2. It has a static address of 192.169.1.2 on the LAN side and a static address of 10.2.9.1 on the WAN Side. PC3 has a static address of 10.2.9.2 and is connected to the WAN port of Router1. "Router2" is connected to the LAN side of Router1 and it has a static IP of 192.168.1.1. Router2 is connected to the internet and provides internet connection to PC1 and PC2. PC1 and PC2 connects fine to the internet and can see each other. However, PC3 cannot connect to the internet even though it is connected to Router1 by PPTP VPN connection. PC3 can see PC1, PC2, Router1 and Router2 but it cannot connect to the internet because Router1 does not give it the default gateway(192.168.1.1) to connect it. When PC3 connects via PPTP, It receives a correct IP address(10.2.9.3), correct DNS addresses but the ip4 default gateway field is left blank, and the DHCP option is not enabled on connection properties of PC3. Router1 is a DD-WRT firmware router (DLink Dir 400) and has PPTP server enabled as a service. How do I get Router 1 to give PC3 a default gateway IP? And how do I forward all outgoing packets from Router 1 to Router 2? I do not need port forwarding for some ports, I need full access to the internet from PC3 though the PPTP connection via Router2.

ASA 8.3(2) 5505
I've configured a number of remote access vpns on ASAs, but I don't recall having a default gateway setting assigned after logging in.
Is there a way to disable the assignment of a default gateway upon login?
The value assigned is meaningless. It's just the next available address in the local pool.

I am using a WRT310N. I have a Cisco ASA5505 as my firewall and don't need the routing capabilities of the WRT310N. So I just plug the LAN port on the WRT310N directly to my LAN switch. I just need the WRT310N to have an IP address for management. So I configure the LAN with an IP address, but there is no way to set the default gateway on the LAN. You can only set the default gateway on the WAN interface, which I don't use, since I am using this in an AP only type of configuration.

I have my E1200 connected to my Netgear FVS318 router (which is a wired router) and the Netgear is connected to the internet. When a wireless client attempts to connect to the internet after automatically receiving an IP from the E1200, they do not have internet access as the default gateway that gets assigned is the IP of the E1200 192.168.2.100, which is not correct. It should be assigned 192.168.2.1, which is the IP of the Netgear router. Thefore, I have to manually set their IP addresses to use 192.168.2.1. How do you configure the E1200 to assign the correct Default Gateway IP to wireless clients who want to use DHCP?

I can't get port forwarding to work, even when I turn off the Windows 7 firewall and AVG anti-virus software I'm running. I entered the IP address of my laptop (with a DHCP reservation) and UDP and TCP port numbers, with Schedule set to Always and Inbound Filter set to Allow All. That should be it, right? However, when I check the ports using PFPortChecker, both the UDP and TCP ports are blocked. I do have a Linksys wireless router daisy-chained to the D-Link router, but I'm not communicating on this computer through the Linksys router and the problem still occurs even when the other router is disconnected, so that doesn't appear to have anything to do with the problem. I just updated to the latest firmware (3.13NA).

I went out and upgraded to the E3200 a week or so ago and since then i've been unable to forward any ports. I've tried pretty much everything I can think of: disabling Windows firewall, setting a static IP for my computer, setting a static IP for the router, enabling forwarding in both single and range menus, DMZ etc. Here is a screenshot of the port forwarding page just to confirm that i'm doing nothing wrong:In the above photo you will see that I set the computers static ip to x.1.2 and I later changed it to a value that was within DHCP range as listed on the status page of the router admin gui and it still didn't work. So, what I ask of you guys is if you can think of anything that I must be fundamentally doing wrong in order for this not to work. Could it be that i'm missing some possible drivers or network utilities on the computer i'm trying to forward ports too

I've just bought a Cisco 887m-k9 and I am trying to forward the ports. I have a Polycom HDX H.323 device connected to it with a static IP of 10.10.10.5 (ethernet port 0).Previously I had a consumer grade Linksys router which worked fine (I simply entered ports into the GUI), but I couldn't hardcode LAN port speed so I bought this. I have the list of TCP and UDP ports which are forwarded using the following commands:
ip nat pool Polycom 10.10.10.5 10.10.10.5 netmask 255.255.255.0 type rotary
ip nat inside source static tcp 10.10.10.5 80 88.xxx.xxx.49 80 extendable
ip nat inside source static tcp 10.10.10.5 443 88.xxx.xxx.49 443 extendable
ip nat inside source static tcp 10.10.10.5 1300 88.xxx.xxx.49 1300 extendable
[code]....
Where 88.xx.xx.49 is my static IP, while 77.xx.xx.170 is my default gateway.

I am attempting to forward port 25565 on my router, and having some trouble. I've set a static IP address as both 192.168.2.10 and 192.168.2.111, and attempted a dynamic IP address. The port forwarding page via 192.168.2.1 in the browser looks like this, with the Private IP Adress changed to whatever corresponding IP address I have set (checked with cmd /ipconfig).
After testing with multiple online port checking tools, the ports remain closed.

We're trying to get a remote access setup for someone who needs to have access from offsite. To make things easy we set it up with a virtual machine running Windows 7 and RDP. Because the "other end" isn't our computer and we've had some difficulties with people using the Cisco VPN client successfully, we were just going to set up a machine as a RDP Gateway and forward the port through the firewall (WebVPN might be nice, but the plugins only do RDP through v5.x). I've tried this on 8.4-1 and after reinstalling the latest 8.2, and supposedly the NAT works and there is a firewall rule allowing access from the outside to the RD-GW server on HTTPS, but the ASA is still blocking those packets. I've looked at 4 howtos and followed them, trying from the console and from ADSM (and one trashed the whole setup, probably related to the reinstall of 8.2) - [code]

I am new to the RV180W. I am running the most recent firmware--version 1.0.1.9.
I am having trouble getting FTP to work with my QNAP NAS.
QNAP indicates that I should forward ports 55536-56559 to my NAS. I created a custom service to accomplish this, and then, under port forwarding, I selected the service and forwarded it to the private IP that corresponds with the NAS.
However, the port forwarding configuration only allows me to specify *ONE* internal port. With other routers I have always specified the same private port *RANGE* that corresponds with the public ports that I have opened up.

I'm trying to forward ports for SQL and VNC using these commands in the CLI:
ip nat inside source static tcp 192.168.1.150 5900 interface GigabitEthernet0 5900
ip nat inside source static tcp 192.168.1.150 5800 interface GigabitEthernet0 5800
ip nat inside source static tcp 192.168.1.150 1433 interface GigabitEthernet0 1433
where 192.168.1.150 is my server (that hosts SQL server and that I want to be able to connect to remotely using VNC) and GigabitEthernet0 is my configured WAN interface.
When I try to connect from an external client I get the error: "Failed to connect to server..." Is this a firewall issue? How do I get round it? The 819 is the only router/firewall in my network.

I have an ASA 5505 running 8.4(1), and I'm configuring it with ASDM 6.4(1). The outside interface is configured with a single static address. I have a few services port forwarded sucessfully to three different servers on the inside network.
I need to make a media proxy on a SIP server available to the outside. It requires a large range of forwarded UDP ports for the media channels.
I tried adding a network object NAT rule like the others I'm already using to forward HTTP and RDP. I entered a range of ports for the real port and the mapped port using the syntax 60000-60999. ASDM accepted it, but the NAT rule list displays "Any" in the service column. When I apply the change, I get the following error:
nat (inside, outside) static interface service tcp 60000-60999 60000-60999
^
ERROR: % Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
How do I forward a large range of UDP ports from the outside interface to a single server on my inside network? I'd like to use ASDM, but I can switch to the CLI if that works better.

Periodically, I drop internet everywhere around my college's campus. I'm literally four feet from a router, but it doesn't seem to matter. I'll disconnect, run troubleshooter, and I'll get the error message saying that the default gateway is not available. My college is designed for Macs, but I'm running Windows 7.
