In our network two wlc's are connected,both are 4402 with 25 and 12 capability.Total aps connected are 33.The users are frequently disconnecting and showing limited connectivity.while manully connecting they are able to connect again.This is happening frequently with many users.While happening all this the aps state is up and no logs found about user disassosiation.

I completely abandoned the PS3/internet connectivity issues due to it going unsolved for about a year now, I just moved to a new house recently. I can understand that it will take a bit for the family to set things up like reliable internet connectivity and what-not. But perhaps there is something that I can do relatively quickly to fix this. Perhaps it is problematic software on my computer? Here's what is happening: The internet disconnects. A lot. Sometimes it's once per 7-minute YouTube video, and just recently it was a record-breaking sixteen times within 20 minutes. I read some things about it being a problem with Adobe Flash player, because most disconnects happen during YouTube videos, but I can't get an update for it... the internet does not co-operate.

I can connect easily to internet with TP-Link MR-3040 router and Huawei E173 3G modem, but the router is disconnected or reseted after a while with no reason. it works fine between 5 and 15 minutes, rarely more than 1 hour, and when i see a video or download a large file the reset is almost automatic. This never happens with the Huawei modem connected directly to the PC!
In our organization ,recently we are facing a issue with VPN connections are disconnecting abruptly in reandom time periods ( 5Min,15Min,1Hr also).We have verified in our SysLog .[code] The same was worked well in Cisco Pix 515E Firewall ,After changed to Cisco ASA 5520,it is giving the issue.- All Ports are allowed for outbound traffic with a Source Network 172.16.40.0/24 to their Client VPN.- This issue is giving for other Subnet Users i.e 172.16.33.0/24 to their Cleint VPN sessions & I allowed all Ports for them for Outbound traffic. Any feature in ASA is casuing for terminating the sessions which was not in Cisco PIX 515E.- ASA version is 8.0.

Recently my xbox live connection, which is bridged through my desktop, has been disconnecting about every 10 minutes of online gameplay. Now i want to give as much information possible for the sake of everyone else. Previously when i was running the bridged connection, everything was fine. My old set up was as follows: The computer in my home office is a dell Inspiron 620. The high speed modem it's connected to is a motorola 2210- 02. Then I ran a Netgear Wireless G router (WGR614V10) which all the wireless electronics connect to. The computer in my room is a HP Compaq Presario PC (SR5807C) which connected to the wireless router using a Netgear WPN111V3 wireless USB adapter. From there I ran an ethernet cable from my Xbox 360 into the ethernet port in the back of my PC and bridged the connections. This setup was brutally effective for about 2 years. One day my wireless adapter, connected to the HP Compaq burnt out. This is when the problems began. I replaced it with a Netgear N300 Wireless USB adapter, and the HP Compaq Presario connects to the wireless router just fine and never loses connection. But when I bridged the connections between the computer and the Xbox 360, my xbox live began to go out.... ALL THE TIME.... All the of the above information remains the same except for the new wireless USB adapter (N300). I've tried everthing from restarting the computer, resetting all settings to default (both the 360 and the wireless settings on my computer), port forwarding and triggering by microsoft xbox live recommendations and anything in between. I would have figured with the newer USB adapter my live should be working better but every 10 minutes it disconnects me from xbox live. (When I get disconnected from live, the computer, from what I can tell, remains connected while the bridge encounters all the issues) At the same time apps like netflix and youtube work fine all day and I never get disconnected, only when I'm gaming (COD MW3, Halo Reach, etc.).

Our Guest access system seems to be having problems with DHCP. It seems to take a while to deliver an IP address making the client device show the "limited or no connectivity" message, which of course makes the users complain. On one occassion I have seen my own client eventually picking up an address even after the limited connectivity message appeared. On another I saw the debug showing "Dhcp request for autoconfig address", which I suspect is a symptom of the problem.
Our Anchor Controller is the DHCP server and is a 4402 running 7.0.98.0 - I've attached some DHCP packet debug.

First off let me start by saying I am quite green when it comes to this equipment, I managed to get this project up and running with the equipment manuals, tech notes, forums and a lot of google work.
This setup has been up and running now for around 4 years with little to no maintenance or monitoring, I have been getting a few reports of users not being able to move from one area to the next without getting disconnected from our wireless, all of our users (about 400 or so) are running on newer Lenovo laptops on Windows XP SP3.
I know this is extremely light in substance with regards to troubleshooting, but where would be a good starting point to begin with this issue?
We use one RADIUS server with Layer 2 WPA WPA2 AES security.

The issue we see is that a user/laptop gets connected and gets the ip address but there will be no network access. We see a yellow exclamation sign at this time in network icon in tray and we can not ping gateway at this point. We have run debugs at this time for the machine and we could see that was in "RUN" state its only that the machine can not access network.
View 11 Replies View Relatedwe have a two port 4402 WLC here with only one port currently in use. The topology is bacically the used port uplinks to a dmz switch. Our Intranet and the Internet are accessed via an ASA from the WLC. The WLC also sits in the DMZ. This WLC is only used for guest wireless access. The AP information and traffic is exchagned from a primary WLC on our Intranet and authentication is done via RADIUS. Internet access is handled through the ASA as well on the DMZ. We have a completely independent ISP broadband connection here that was put in long before I was ever here and is used for guest wired web access. All ports are clearly labelled and have bright pink patch cords. What I would like to do is have our wireless guests be on that network rather than our dmz for their web access. I have pulled an ethernet cable from the switch that connects to that broadband connection to the cabinet with the 4402. So the physical is fine right now. I'm not all that familiar with the WLC's, so I'm not sure if everything else can remain the same as it is right now, but just connect the second port to the broadband connection and route guest Internet traffic through there rather than the DMZ.

The problem is that if you don't have valid credentials you keep the IP address anyways.I'd like to know if there is a way to release the IPs that are not being used? The WLC is the DHCP server for this network.

We are trying to connect an apple tv, so we can stream picture, videos etc from ipads and Macbooks to a large display for media teaching.The setup works at home, but not at work.The apple TV is on the same network as the wireless apple devices, (we use a 10.6.4.x-10.6.5.254 range), both are dhcping the addresses (have tried fixing but that made no difference). I've enabled multicasting and igmp snooping and set the multicast address as 239.0.0.0 and it still doesn't work.

When it goes out, eventually I am unable to connect any of my desktops or laptops wirelessly until I power cycle the modem and the router. The new gateway also loses wireless connection.I don know what to do as I ruled out everything. Its not the ISP problem, its not a router issue, and its not a specific computer problem. I have had the virgin media superhub on 30mb broadband for about a month and over the last week I have been disconnecting from my network up to as much as 3 or 4 times a minute or sometimes once in five minutes and other times it just vanishes from the network list for about 30 seconds then re-appears, sometimes when I disconnect it re-connects almost instantly other times I have to wait about a minute or sometimes even longer even though I can permanently see my neighbours network and my laptop does not have this problem.. I payed �50 for a new wireless card to try and fix the problem and it was fine for a few weeks now it is the same. Restarting the router makes no difference and this is happening all constantly over the last week without fail, i have tried updating my wireless drivers and using different wireless cards.
