I have two 5508 controllers configured with an internal dhcp scope. The scopes on each controller are a /22. I need to expand the scope to provide more addresses. Is there an easy way to add a second dhcp scope without making changes to the existing scope? If so how will the clients devices be able to access that ip address range?

We are trying to connect an apple tv, so we can stream picture, videos etc from ipads and Macbooks to a large display for media teaching.The setup works at home, but not at work.The apple TV is on the same network as the wireless apple devices, (we use a 10.6.4.x-10.6.5.254 range), both are dhcping the addresses (have tried fixing but that made no difference). I've enabled multicasting and igmp snooping and set the multicast address as 239.0.0.0 and it still doesn't work.

I have an additional same switch which I would like to stack. My initial plans were to have 2 GIbit etherchannels, but I came across the option to Stacks both switch with each other.

I would like to add the new switch to the stack without losing the config for the switch which is live. I understand that the highest priority of the switches becomes the Master but as the live switch is Priority 1, would chancing this affect the switches config, or would it lose connection at all?
Also when I plug in the new switch and it reboot how do I ensure it becomes the slave without rebooting the live switch?The cables on the switch do they have to go to port1 on the live switch and port 1 on the new switch or can they be port 1 and port 2?

View 7 Replies View RelatedWe have a 5510 ASA that was running 8.0 and were using it for clientless VPN access. Through this, we published bookmarks that linked to an internal Microsoft 2008R2 RemoteApps server, which users logged on to and then launched RemoteApps (basically being RDP sessions to apps on the server).All worked fine until we upgraded to 8.4 over the weekend and we now can't launch the RemoteApps. We can still login through the ASA, still click a bookmark to take us to the RemoteApps server's webpage, still then authenticate against the domain fine and still see the published apps. The problem now is when we launch the apps we get "this computer can't connect to the remote computer" messages and the app fails to launch. Nothing has changed on the RemoteApp server side, only the upgrade to 8.4.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with AP Fallback not working with two Cisco 4402-50 WLC's. Here is the senerio:
Site 1 has a 4402 (WLC01) running software 7.0.220.0 with 48 associated access points. AP Fallback is enabled in Controller > General and all 48 AP's are set to Critical failover with WLC01 being the primary controller and WLC02 (at site 2) being the secondary.
Site 2 is the location of WLC02 which is also running software 7.0.220.0 but has 0 ap's associated and also had AP Fallback set to enabled.
Your typical active/passive setup
The problem is when WLC01 goes down all of the AP's fail over to WLC02, however when the connection is restored to WLC01 we have to manually reboot each access point in order for them to reassociate back to the primary controller. Isn't AP Fallback enabled suppose to allow the AP's to move back to the primary controller once connection is reestablished?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThere is one guest interface, one guest WLAN. The WLAN is set with a DHCP override address of the guest interface. But it no longer allows this as I found out. Anyway, I can get the client to now receive an address from the internal pool on the WLC, but it will not route to the authentication page. I noticed that the WLC excludes the clients attempting to connect on the guest WLAN due to failed 802.1x authentication! the WLC never even gave me the chance to authenticate using an account created either through the lobby ambassador or creating one directly on the controller.

During this process I have notices that although the current corp wireless works, there was never a virtual interface created for it. Instead it uses the same Wlan/Vlan as the ap manager and managemnt interfaces. Could this by why I cant seem to get the Guest access working? or is this not a problem after all since the wireless does work.

The wireless mesh works fine but I can not get the switch to work that is connected to the ethernet port on the MAP.I'm using two different Access points. I'm using a Air Cap 3502i as the RAP and a Air Lap1142N as the MAP.The switch port that is connected to the RAP and MAP is configured as the following:

The wireless mesh between the RAP and MAP works fine. I can connect a device to the MAP wirelessly and access the network with no problem but I can not get anything to work that connects to the switch that is connected to the MAP ethernet port.
I am enabling our wireless controllers to use 802.1x authentication for our wireless clients. Both computer and user are provided with certificate from CA server.I have 9 APs and 2 controllers installed in my infrastucture, one of the controllers is working fine with setting specified above but the other one is not.Both has same configuration and both seems identical with same model and IOS.

The issue we see is that a user/laptop gets connected and gets the ip address but there will be no network access. We see a yellow exclamation sign at this time in network icon in tray and we can not ping gateway at this point. We have run debugs at this time for the machine and we could see that was in "RUN" state its only that the machine can not access network.
View 11 Replies View Relatedwe have a two port 4402 WLC here with only one port currently in use. The topology is bacically the used port uplinks to a dmz switch. Our Intranet and the Internet are accessed via an ASA from the WLC. The WLC also sits in the DMZ. This WLC is only used for guest wireless access. The AP information and traffic is exchagned from a primary WLC on our Intranet and authentication is done via RADIUS. Internet access is handled through the ASA as well on the DMZ. We have a completely independent ISP broadband connection here that was put in long before I was ever here and is used for guest wired web access. All ports are clearly labelled and have bright pink patch cords. What I would like to do is have our wireless guests be on that network rather than our dmz for their web access. I have pulled an ethernet cable from the switch that connects to that broadband connection to the cabinet with the 4402. So the physical is fine right now. I'm not all that familiar with the WLC's, so I'm not sure if everything else can remain the same as it is right now, but just connect the second port to the broadband connection and route guest Internet traffic through there rather than the DMZ.

The problem is that if you don't have valid credentials you keep the IP address anyways.I'd like to know if there is a way to release the IPs that are not being used? The WLC is the DHCP server for this network.

The new network will be for a wireless infrastructure.There is also VPN Configured on the ASA - One with L2TP for Windows Clients and an IPsec for Cisco Clients.Former we only had one outside (Eth0/0) and one inside interface (Eth0/1) on the ASA.Now I want to use the Eth0/2 with subinterfaces, so that we will be flexible for future, when deploying more vlans.But now, when i turn the first subinterface Eth0/2.2 to no-shut the VPN Connections does not work any more.Bulding up the VPN connection works, but it seems that the traffic is not tunneled. (I checked this, because tracert to an internal adress goes to the internet)Below there is my config, i don't know whats wrong. I think split-tunnel is configured correctly (because it works when i delete eth0/2.2) TREV is the network of this location.Company1,2,3 are remote locations.

As my original Innbox V50U modem/router does not have a strong enough wifi signal I had to add in an additional wifi router - I used a Cisco Linksys E4200.The problem is that if I connect my laptop to the cisco router I can see the Innbox router but not vice versa. There is an additional problem as I have a wireless printer that is connected to the Cisco router. If I connect to the Innbox router I cannot use this printer as I cannot see its IP address.I read somewhere it might be down to the subnet mask. both are set to 255.255.255.0Apologies if this is n00b stuff but I have not had this problem before, I just naturally though the two networks would be able to talk to each-other.
