I have a Mesh architecture with 2112 WLC and 1042 APs I want just to know if I can connect one 1310 AP to the ethernet port of a mesh 1042 AP with ethernet bridging enabled.
I have many of these, many models and versions. I have a WRT54G v1, V1.1, V2....V8, I also have WRT54GS's WRT54GL's and others, Lots of other Linksys stuff, almost all of it in the Blue and Black boxes of varing sizes.I have a heck of a time when I reconfigure my network or the wife changes the furniture. I'd love a single document that lists the power specifications and adapter requirements for thens devices... I can't find them any where on the Linksys site. I Have looked and searched and nowhere can I find a consolidate list.
Any have a list of the DC power Specifications, Barrel sizes, and other stuff needed to buy a replacement Power adapter. This page url...lists a lot of information but does not list this critical information... I am amazed that Linksys does not have it listed some where here. Losing a wall wart should not be a reason to pull you hair out, just a simple purchase, If they don't want to stock them, then at least tell us what they are.
What is the power rating of a 1552e mesh AP before the antennas are attached? I have the dual band 2.4 / 5 GHz antennas. I know their Db rating, but I have not been able to find what the AP is.
I have deployed 2 x Cisco 1522 mesh access point and configured both as root ap. On top of that, I have also customized the power setting for the 802.11a/n signal to value 5. However, I discovered that whenever the mesh APs reboot, the power of 802.11a/n signal to will be reset to value 1.
Thus, I would like to ask is this a norm behaviour or I have mis-configured some setting?
regarding the power requirements. I have this Cisco 6503-E switch and I need to know what I need in terms of power.
The manual says if using 120VAC, I will need 16A. If using 230VAC, the unit will require 8A.
I have 2 dedicated 20amps circuits both at 120V. Am I correct on plugging each of the power supplies of the cisco unit to each of these circuits?
Another question will be, do I really need to dedicated 2 dedicated 20amps circuits for the unit? Can't I just use one dedicated 20amps circtuis and connect both power supplies to it?
I want to chose the right UPS product for 7 x WS-C3750X-48PF-L in one stack. The Cisco data sheet says 1100W AC, however, I am only connecting 20 IP Phones, each phone will consume around 12.2 Watts.
So in this case, How many watts would I need for the whole 7 switches in the stack ?
in other words, only the first switch in the stack will be connected to 20 IP Phones, but the remaining switches in the stack will be Data Only thought the remaining switches in the stack are capable of delivering a full PoE.
the power consumption of the WS-C3750X-48PF-L with only data connected to it.
I am calculating Cisco 4500X power consumption requirements to select appropriate UPS systems. I have 4500X switch with dual power supplies.which value should I take for power consumption calculation, in data sheet it has two values: AC Power Max Rating: 750W System Power Consumption: 330W nominal/400W max
Which values should I take, to calculate UPS systems capacity? And also I am interesting when 4500x has two power supplies what is power consumption?
We purchased a new monitor to the pc where the router is connected. Since then, my laptop does not connect to the internet. My network is on the list but it says "The settings saved on this computer for network do not match the requirements of the network" and the Connect button is not active.
My two devices access the 2.4 ghz wireless network fine on my EA4500.Both my devices, laptop and iPhone4, have N rated network cards. What do I need to use the 5.0 ghz wireless network on the EA4500?Can the iPhone4 use a 5.0 wireless network? When I try to add the 5.0 ghz Wi-Fi to my iPhone4, it cannot find the named but hidden SSID network??
Done a wifi mesh using 1552E and 1552i mix of AP's ? With the 1552E as RAP and 1552I's as MAP's ? Is it a recommended model of deployment and will it work well ? the 1552i having radiation pattern more towards the ground when mounted on top , will the mesh backhaul to the 1552E be strong enough ?
Will this work if i put the 1552e at a lower level than the 1552i so that the mesh is formed properly ?
I am using LINKSYS by CISCO (WRT54G2) Access point wirh out any controller or wireless control system (WCS). Is it possible to connect this AP in mesh scenario, if its possible, how about configuring in mesh mode.
I have a running Mesh Network with AP 1552E and Controller 5508. The end customer has a new requirement to have a indoor coverage near to AP1552E (mesh AP). But in this building he has not any wired Network (it is far from any switched site). The question is: We can use an AP1262 indoor with Line Of Sigth to AP1552E in the running Mesh Network? I know AP1262 can be used in a Mesh Netwok (Root or Mesh) configuring it as BRIDGE [URL]
By default, 802/11a/n is set for backhaul communication.Does that mean that if most of my clients are on 5ghz, Mesh network is not a preferred design to go? Reason being:- client communication on a/n radio might disturb the traffic of the whole cell and of all the MAPs that connect to the network through that MAP.
I've a WLC 2106 and it is running IOS version 7.0.240. I am trying to setup a wireless mesh and used the Ethernet bridge port on the MAP to extend the network. The wireless mesh works fine but I can not get the switch to work that is connected to the ethernet port on the MAP.I'm using two different Access points. I'm using a Air Cap 3502i as the RAP and a Air Lap1142N as the MAP.The switch port that is connected to the RAP and MAP is configured as the following:
The wireless mesh between the RAP and MAP works fine. I can connect a device to the MAP wirelessly and access the network with no problem but I can not get anything to work that connects to the switch that is connected to the MAP ethernet port.
I need to connect 4-6 laptops in a mesh network topology. What equipment do I need (switches, hubs cable etc..) and how should I create the connection?
I'm trying to mesh a 1522 MAP through a 1042 RAP but this doen´t work. I get strange messages on the trap log:

If i debug the 1042 i also see "... has 1 AES-CCMP TSC replays messages..."I have some 1522 MAP meshing through 1142 working fine on same 5508 controller version, i think there are few differences between 1042 an 1142.
I have an Aironet 1042 wireless AP if I create an SSID with no security it shows up as wireless N when I see it on a windows 7 laptop. As soon as I apply any security settings is shows up as G and not N. I just want to be able to authenticate with a Windows 2008 server running NPS - this works fine but I obviously want to connect at N speed and not G.
i'm trying to enable WDS with authentication on a Cisco 1042 AP. The unit itself will be the WDS master and Radius server as well it will serve clients (not that many). The AP is running version 12.4(25d).After multiple tries of configurating, I keep getting the same issue: as soon as I connect to the SSID, I can enter the username and password but authentication fails - hence the message in my console:
%DOT11-7-AUTH_FAILED: Station xxxx.xxxx.xxxx Authentication failed. Every configuration I made was started from factory defaults of the AP.My current tests are with one AP only and if tests go successfully, I will add more infrastructure AP's to the setup.

I've tried the configuration from the Cisco config guide as well but without any luck [URL]
I got a new 1042 AP and connected it to the network. I have a 2504 contrller with 6 AP's already on it. I thought I could just plu in the new AP and it would show up in the AP group. Instead it shows up as a rouge AP. How do i get the new AP to show up in the default group?
I ordered controller 2504 and will arrive soon. I want to know that after configure the initial setup of 2504 (i.e. AP manager , Management IPs etc) and defining the DHCP for AP. Will the 1042 lightweight AP will register with the controller automatically or i need to manually define the AP (MAC address) on WLC. and also whether the Option 43 and 60 are correctly defined?

I am not able to join 1042 wireless AP with 2106 controller, even i mention that controller ip is 192.168.200.5 it try to join with controller on 192.168.200.6 ip address always. following are the error logs i can see on console.

I would like to confirm if it is possible to downgrade AP 1042 from CAPWAP to autonomous? I want to buy the AP model AIR-LAP1042N-A-K9. But i don't sure if in the future it could support this feature.
I have a 5508 WLC licensed for 100 APs. I have 1 - 1042 LAP connected for testing. I have DHCP configured for the AP, and it gets an address of 192.168.254.100/24 - the controller's management interface is 192.168.254.99/24. I can see that the AP is getting an IP and I can ping it from the controller. However, I simply do not see the AP associating. I enabled capwap debiugging and watched the events, but I didn't see anything crazy that clued me in. What am I doing wrong?
The controller is v6.0.199.4
Every time I have set these up in the past they have been pretty straight forward. I haven't gotten too deep into the config on the WLC becuase I don't want to cause more issues.
I am trying to configure a Cisco 1042 autonomous AP and have ran into some problems. I require 2 broadcasted SSIDs that use WPA v2. When I only have 1 of the SSIDs enabled, I can authenticate with no problems. When I have both SSIDs enabled, I can connect to one of the networks, but not the other. I have verified the PSK multiple times, but the logs still show dot11-7-auth_failed. If I remove the working SSID and make no changes to the SSID for which authentication previously fails, everything works fine. Upon adding the other SSID back, I run into the same authentication issue.
We have purchased Cisco 2504 Wireless Controller (One) and Ciscon 1042 Access Points (Five). At present I am going to use 3 access points only.I have attached a simple diagram of our office network. We have more than 30 VLANs configured in Core Switch, we are planning to give wifi access to only 3 VLANs.
1. VLAN 121 ( IP Segment - 10.52.121.0 /24) 2. VLAN 116 ( IP Segment - 10.52.116.0 /24) 3. VLAN 100 ( IP Segment - 192.168.100.0 /24) (Guest)
I would like to use LDAP or ACS for authentication purpose.
