I have deployed 2 x Cisco 1522 mesh access point and configured both as root ap. On top of that, I have also customized the power setting for the 802.11a/n signal to value 5. However, I discovered that whenever the mesh APs reboot, the power of 802.11a/n signal to will be reset to value 1.
Thus, I would like to ask is this a norm behaviour or I have mis-configured some setting?
I am trying to reset my 1522 series lightweight access point to factory default.On the box,there is no any mode button.Actually password is not set to Default and need pasword recovery on this device.If you have any experience on this lightweight access point that let me know.How I reset device to fectory default.

What is the power rating of a 1552e mesh AP before the antennas are attached? I have the dual band 2.4 / 5 GHz antennas. I know their Db rating, but I have not been able to find what the AP is.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had DAP-1522 setup for more than two years and working fine. I changed the default IP address from 192.168.0.50 to 10.0.0.50. Recently I replaced my older router with a new one, and now I want to reconfigure the DAP-1522 with the new router, but unable to login. I tried to factory reset but it doesn't seem to work. When I hold the reset button for 10-20 secs, I see the blue power light blinking, but it continues to blink forever. I left it for 4-5 hours and no difference yet. how to successfully reset to factory defaults so that I can access it using 192.168.0.50 IP address?

I then updated the DAP-1522 to FW:1.21 from 1.1.
Things looked great. I then moved it upstairs to my home theater.
Plugged it in and got a blinking power light. Completely unresponsive to either linkage or 192.168.0.50.
I have followed everyone advice listed either here or in Amazons reviews. And from my own experience with similar electronics the flashing power LED is indicative of a "brick".
I have initiated a replacement shipment from amazon. Just wanted to see if anyone had seen this before.
I am still trying to get the DAP-1522 to perform well together with the DIR-855, but so far I think the DAP-1522 is a piece.When setting up the DAP-1522 in bridge mode I get stunning 5% signal on the 5 GHz band and 65% on the 2.4 GHz band. Speed is for both bands under 20 Mbps.At the same time, a laptop from Asus gets 100% signal and 130 Mbps right away.I am VERY disappointed with the DAP-1522. Save your money and the hazzle.

prompt, the reset instructions that Cisco provides says that I should rename the old config.txt and reboot and that I will then be able to start my reconfig. The problem is that I can't find a config.txt file in the flash space:

I checked in the directories listed above and still found no config.txt.
I've setted the unit in BRIDGE MODE, and attached on it 3 LAN devices, 1 PC Desktop, 1 NAS WDBE and 1 HP printer ... OK all config process was right and all my units talk togheter via AP Netgear DNG2000, and so i can use for instance the printer with my laptop too connected in WI-FI N. Now usually, In the night I turn off all my devices (DAP included), and when in the morning I need only the printer used by my laptop, obviously I turn on ROUTER - BRIDGE - PRINTER - LAPTOP but NOT the DESKTOP ... and so the DAP can't reconnect automatically to the router (both the lights AP/BRIDGE are on and fixed) ... I turn on the PC and the BRIDGE reconnect to the world .... BUT I DON'T WANT turn on everytime the desktop !
1) all gears has fixed IPs
2) DHCP server deactivated on the AP main router (DNG2000)
3) no WPS used, only WPA2-PSK (AES) personal keys on all gears
once that DAP-1522 is connected to the router .... all work fine (also when I turn off the DESKTOP).so the workaround is never turn-off the DAP ? I can't believe ... and who will save the energy planet

View 1 Replies View Relatedwe have two WLC model 5508 with software version 7.0.116.0 (25 ap supported for each), i tried to add a new access point air-lap1131ag-e-k9 but after five minuts (maximum) the ap reboot, i replaced :
- power injector
- AC/DC adapter
- patch ethernet
- switch port
- switch
- ip of the access point
- reset a default of all access point i tried
- reboot of both wlc
I took the ap and connected directly to the switch (with or without power injector), but the access point reset with this reason.
NIB DPC3825 cable modem. Called my provider and got it provisioned and its working (I'm on an ethernet connection posting this). But when I http to 192.168.0.1, I get a screen that doesn't quite look like the one in the manual. I enter the "admin" and "W2402" and click login, and the screen refreshes but nothing happens (no configuration options, only able to check status of downstream and upstream channels). Pushing the factory reset button for ten seconds to load defaults makes the lights blink and then reboots; same result as above. Pushing the wireless config button has no effect at all.

Its autonomous so there is no controller. I renamed the config.txt file I am unable to rename or delete the private-config file. I get the message that file or directory cannot be found when i try to rename and permission denied when I try to delete it.
it is normal for the WISM2 time to be resetted to default of 1 Jan 2000 after rebooting the 6506E if no NTP is configured?I had to configure it back to the correct time. If not, the APs will not come up.Also, does the ap or wlc keep track of the ap group the ap is provisioned to?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have an AIR-LAP1142N-E-K9 deployed in a H-REAP setup.This AP already got the configuration from the WLC when it was deployed at a remote site.Now we moved it to another site, but it doesn't appear in the WCS and i don't see any CAPWAP debug messages on the WLC.The routing work fine between the AP and the WLC, the AP also gets an IP address from DHCP and also received Option 43 information.
Now my guess was that the AP doesn't associate with the WLC because it has the old config file and it runs in local mode(without trying to connect to the WLC).We want to reset to factory defaults because we want to delete the configuration and force the AP to get a new config from the WCS.I don't know the enable password so i had to use other methods for reseting to factory defaults.

I have an E1200 and if a device - such as my tablet or laptop - is left unused for a period of time - say for 4 or 5 hours - they won't reconnect to the router unless I do a power cycle/reset on the router.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOur wireless network has started to drop out periodically. If we pull power and restore, the network immediately comes back up on all our our devices. We have the WRT54G, and we have 2 PCs, 2 Macs, and 3 iPhones, and a wired home phone. Normally there are not this many devices connected, but with everyone home for Thanksgiving and all these devices on the network we have started to see this issue.
Are there simply more devices than the router can handle? Is one of the devices crashing the network for everyone? What typically will cause something like this?
I've just managed to reset the WRT 300N to default settings and have setup the internet connection etc and home network ... BUT no matter how I've fiddled with the wireless settings I cannot get any of the laptops or mobile phones to connect wireless to the network.The Windows software on the laptops 'finds' the router OK but for some reason the router seems unwilling to supply an IP address.I've checked ALL of the settings that I can think of, and all are correct ... well, all are exactly the same as my old router which worked perfectly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a WRV210-A V01 (Software: 2.0.1.5) router that when originally purchased I upgraded the firmware to the newest 2.0.1.5. However after the firmware upgrade the router has not worked right since. [I thought maybe the upgrade did not take, and successfully pushed the firmware 3x times]
Everytime you login to the webpage the right-side pane you have to scroll down 3x pages until you can see the settings options. It does that for everypage you visit you have to scroll down 3x pages until you can see the settings.
The wireless is sporadic and dropping connections, and now certain options like changing the "Basic Rate:" from "All' to "Default" does nothing and wont let you change it.
The main issue I have is that certain wireless settings like changing the "AP Isolation:" cause the router to reset back to factory defaults. and even trying to configure the LAN setup also randomly makes the router reset to factory default.
