Linksys Wireless Router :: Wrt54gl Won't Reset To Factory Default
Jul 25, 2012
i have a wrt54gl version1.1 ok so let me start from the beginning.a few months ago i left the contry so a friend of mine asked me to lent him my router. a few day`s ago i got back and got my router back. it was working fine until i got it back. the rest button won`t work. i can`t reset the router to factory default. the user name was blank and the password was admin.now it won`t let my to do that.
Due to password loss, I get to reset the E4200 to factory default in order for router re-config.After pressing the reset buttom for 10sec, the router reset. After then, I could not access the router via browser with 192.168.1.1 at URL entry. My PC IPv4 setup: 192.168.1.11; subnet=255.255.255.0.But, ping 192.168.1.1 from PC was OK without packet loss. So router was restored with 192.168.1.1 and cable connection was OK.
I have a (old) 1231 that I would like to reuse, but no one remembers the password. how to recover a password from this model AP or how to reset the device to factory default?
I was trying to do a password recovery on a 1142 AP but enable password did not reset and I am stuck
AP model is AIR-AP1142N-A-K9 Running IOS c1140-k9w7-mx.124-21a.JA1
Its autonomous so there is no controller. I renamed the config.txt file I am unable to rename or delete the private-config file. I get the message that file or directory cannot be found when i try to rename and permission denied when I try to delete it.
We have an AIR-LAP1142N-E-K9 deployed in a H-REAP setup. This AP already got the configuration from the WLC when it was deployed at a remote site. Now we moved it to another site, but it doesn't appear in the WCS and i don't see any CAPWAP debug messages on the WLC.The routing work fine between the AP and the WLC, the AP also gets an IP address from DHCP and also received Option 43 information.
Now my guess was that the AP doesn't associate with the WLC because it has the old config file and it runs in local mode(without trying to connect to the WLC).We want to reset to factory defaults because we want to delete the configuration and force the AP to get a new config from the WCS.I don't know the enable password so i had to use other methods for reseting to factory defaults.
I tried to use the information from here:[URL]I used the "MODE button":I get the following message from the console:
"button pressed for 5 seconds process_config_recovery: set IP address and config to default 10.0.0.1"
I am trying to reset my 1522 series lightweight access point to factory default. On the box, there is no any mode button.Actually password is not set to Default and need pasword recovery on this device. If you have any experience on this lightweight access point that let me know. How I reset device to fectory default.
I need to reset my DLink wireless modem all over again, can't get it to recognise the router, so thought that it would need to reset to factory defaut, how can I do this. Tried just hitting reset on the router, but nothing is happening.
I have an AIR-AP521G-E-K9 and i want to reset to factory default in CLI.I tried "write erase" but dont work.I have problems with access-list and i want to desactivate access-list that i have created by web GUI.The problems now is that i can not access to my AP, no ping, no web GUI access.Access that i have is only by CLI, but access list is always blockinh all tha traffic trought my AP.How can i desactivate mac filtering, or how can i reset to factiry default
I have a WRV210-A V01 (Software: 2.0.1.5) router that when originally purchased I upgraded the firmware to the newest 2.0.1.5. However after the firmware upgrade the router has not worked right since. [I thought maybe the upgrade did not take, and successfully pushed the firmware 3x times]
Everytime you login to the webpage the right-side pane you have to scroll down 3x pages until you can see the settings options. It does that for everypage you visit you have to scroll down 3x pages until you can see the settings.
The wireless is sporadic and dropping connections, and now certain options like changing the "Basic Rate:" from "All' to "Default" does nothing and wont let you change it.
The main issue I have is that certain wireless settings like changing the "AP Isolation:" cause the router to reset back to factory defaults. and even trying to configure the LAN setup also randomly makes the router reset to factory default.
Unable to log in into our new ESW 540 switch because the default User ID and PW was changed. How do i restore the factory default on the switch. Can't get into the switch with CCA or explorer.
Im connecting to my firewall through the console port, and need to know how to reset it to factory defaults. I have looked around online and can not see any reference on how to do this.
i have a new 5505 and i have done a few configurations on it. When i try to reset it to the factory settings via asdm i get an error saying it could not be done. I have used config-factory-default using the cli option available in the asdm. I am using asa 8.2 and asdm 6.2. Will erasing the flash reset to factory defaults.
I have a cisco aironet 1300 series and i need to reset it back to factory default. the directions say push the mode button while the access point is off and then turn it on while the mode button is down.
Recently purchased a RVS4000 Router, which included v1.1.14 firmware. Is it necessary to reset the router to Factory Default settings, after upgrading to v1.2.11, as in most of the other previous upgrades?
I have a cisco 2960 that I seemed to have lost the password. Its just a test switch. I would like to know how to reset it to factory default. I have managed to get to a switch: prompt by holding in the small mode button on the front of the switch and pluging in the power but lost from here.
I want to use my router to boost the signal to the 2nd floor of my house, and Im having some problems. When I connect my router to the web application to change restore it to manufaturer setting the router keeps broadcasting my old SSID. The laptops in the house pick up that signal. I want to reset my router so it can broadcast my new network.
When I ran a reset to factory settings of my acer aspire one netbooks which runs windows 7 I no longer have a wireless connection option at all. I have done this before and never lost my ability to connect wirelessly. I tried to look for driver downloads but I'm not even sure what it is I need to do to recover the missing program as it was a original factory program.
Iused my installation cd to re-setup my linksys. I moved and used a laptop previously. Now i am at a house that has a desktop. I want to keep the desktop wired and make my laptop wired. So, when i went to re-install it said i had to reset my linksys to factory settings.
We've lost our WRT120N's administrator password and are trying to reset it to factory defaults. One peculiar thing that we have noticed is that the router has an IP of 192.168.106.1 rather than the default of 192.168.1.1 (this is verified by the default gateway, as well as a login prompt when 192.168.106.1 is put into a browser).Things we've tried to do to reset the router:
1) Press and hold the reset button at the back of the router for 30 seconds
2) Press and hold the reset button at the back of the router for 60 seconds
Interestingly, doing either of these things seemed to have no effect on the status lights.
I have a WRT54G router Ver. 5 with firmware v. 1.02.5. This is the second time this has happened to me but the router reset itself to the factory defaults. I lost all my configurations. I'm saving the configuration this time but it will be annoying to keep having to reconfigure the router.
We recently exchanged our old WRT54G with the current model WRT54GL. Unfortunately we have to reset the WRT54GL router a few times per week. We noticed that when one of the clients -- an iPod Touch -- is not being used on the wireless network (that person being away), the router runs without failing. I would suppose router reliability should not depend on the clients that it serves. Is anybody familiar with a similar problem? Is there a way to prevent the router from failing so
My router wasn't giving out proper ip addresses so I went through the steps to reset the router to factory defaults. After I tried to run the setup off of the cd which came with the router and the program is saying it can't find my router
I bought a few months ago a WRT54gl router for home use. It works nice and everything, but today was the second time it totaly resetet without pressing the reset button. Why the router is resetting by its own?
Ok, so I reset the router but i still can't login to the setup using the factory password (admin/admin) (blank/admin) (admin/blank). Now I have an unencrypted network and no access to the setup... I even tried using the setup CD but it doesn't recognize the router.
My EA6500 has been working fine for the last few months but a few days ago i upgraded to the latest firmware 1.1.28.147876 - this was done by an ethernet cable, not by wifi. However i've noticed the router reverts back to the previous fw 1.1.28.146856 when the router is rebooted or factory reset. I've repeated the fw upgrade process and also done a hard reset before upgrading the firmware but no avail. Normally after firmware is 'upgraded' the router reboots and i get the message "firmware successfully installed" but then on subsequent reboots the firmware reverts back. I'm using local router access but even using smartwifi gives the same issue. When upgrading fw, i've tried both options online & manual but again makes no difference.
Don't really fancy calling Linksys support and going through 4 hrs of basic trouble shooting. Or perhaps Cisco have introduced a new automatic firmware downgrade option in their routers?
I flashed the firmware and the ipv6 automatic is on disabled and I cannot set it to enabled.the 6rd tunnel option I can change but that has not effect- in fact from what I looked up it seems to be something used by some cable providers.hate to have to reset the router to factory defaults and then reset the network up - just to see if i can get the option to set IPV6 auto to enabled.
I've had my WRT54GL for a couple of months now, and it keeps wiping my saved settings and reverting back to the default. It works fine with all devices for a week or so after the initial set-up, then will only work on the system that is wired.
Last year our Network Security Supervisor submit his resignation and unfortunately did not endorse us the admin password we already tried the password he suggested when we contacted him but nothing of them works. Is there anyway we can reset the password without resetting to factory default?
