After then, I could not access the router via browser with 192.168.1.1 at URL entry. My PC IPv4 setup: 192.168.1.11; subnet=255.255.255.0.But, ping 192.168.1.1 from PC was OK without packet loss. So router was restored with 192.168.1.1 and cable connection was OK.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe've lost our WRT120N's administrator password and are trying to reset it to factory defaults.One peculiar thing that we have noticed is that the router has an IP of 192.168.106.1 rather than the default of 192.168.1.1 (this is verified by the default gateway, as well as a login prompt when 192.168.106.1 is put into a browser).Things we've tried to do to reset the router:
1) Press and hold the reset button at the back of the router for 30 seconds
2) Press and hold the reset button at the back of the router for 60 seconds
Interestingly, doing either of these things seemed to have no effect on the status lights.
I just upgraded to a E3000 from a WRT54G and I am having some issues with network speed.I have no special settings and have even tried restoring factory defaults and upgrading to the latest firmware to no avail.The time I notice the biggest hit is when transferring files locally on the network (WiFi and LAN).Let me note that I do know the difference between MB/s & Mb/s and the like.I have Comcast 20Mb/s Down, 1.5Mb/s Up (just a FYI, the main issue is local transfers)
With default settings my Laptop (ASUS N82JQ, Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter), connects to the router at only 65Mb/s (with full signal).Upload seems to be more decent ~600KB/s (Transferring files from wireless n laptop to the gigabit desktop).Download seems to be limited to ~150KB/s (Copying files from the wired gigabit desktop to the wireless n laptop).These speeds are horrible! ~5hrs to transfer 3GB of data!
One of my laptops had a card that was capable of both 2.4 & 5Ghz and I was previously getting ~2000-5000KB/s (2-5MB/s) transfers with this router (But I had to do a system restore on it and reset the router). My ASUS laptop seems to only work with 2.4Ghz though. If I change the 2.4Gh Wireless settings on the router to "Auto(20MHz or 40MHz)" the laptop will connect at 150Mb/s, but the speeds are the same slow speeds as above.
Ok, so I reset the router but i still can't login to the setup using the factory password (admin/admin) (blank/admin) (admin/blank). Now I have an unencrypted network and no access to the setup... I even tried using the setup CD but it doesn't recognize the router.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy EA6500 has been working fine for the last few months but a few days ago i upgraded to the latest firmware 1.1.28.147876 - this was done by an ethernet cable, not by wifi. However i've noticed the router reverts back to the previous fw 1.1.28.146856 when the router is rebooted or factory reset. I've repeated the fw upgrade process and also done a hard reset before upgrading the firmware but no avail. Normally after firmware is 'upgraded' the router reboots and i get the message "firmware successfully installed" but then on subsequent reboots the firmware reverts back. I'm using local router access but even using smartwifi gives the same issue. When upgrading fw, i've tried both options online & manual but again makes no difference.
Don't really fancy calling Linksys support and going through 4 hrs of basic trouble shooting. Or perhaps Cisco have introduced a new automatic firmware downgrade option in their routers?
I flashed the firmware and the ipv6 automatic is on disabled and I cannot set it to enabled.the 6rd tunnel option I can change but that has not effect- in fact from what I looked up it seems to be something used by some cable providers.hate to have to reset the router to factory defaults and then reset the network up - just to see if i can get the option to set IPV6 auto to enabled.

I have 2 computers connected directly to the E3000, and 2 computers connected to a ProCurve managed switch on the other side of the house. I can ping the computers on the switch side of the network but i cannot see those computers in the network section of windows 7. I can also navigate to them via \ computername.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI upgraded from a WRT54GS. I have an XBOX that I am trying to setup a static IP for. Every time I try I get an error message stating invalid static route. All I am trying to do is set it up the same way my old router was so when I specify my XBOX as DMZ Host I don't have to worry about my XBOX ip address changing like it currently does.

I have comcast Triple HD cable internet and I have been using a low end 5 year old Linksys Router. I decided to upgrade and get the E3000. So far I have had no luck at all getting it to work. Setup fails to even connect at all. I spent 2 hours on the phone with tech support. There were in trying to get it up and running but we have been unable to get a TCP/IP number from my provider (comcast). I hooked up the old router to see if any of my settings looked unusual but they seemed normal.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using Linksys WAG200g as a modem&router at my home for few years already and it did a great job. Plugged it on 24hours non-stop. Default firmware.
However, in the past months WAG200g did the factory reset by itself. It happened once a month, 3 months in a row already. No body pressed the reset button nor use the web admin to reset it. It reset itself. All the SSID, IP Address, passwords, etc are reset to default.
If I use the reset on the back of the WCG200 and reset it to the original factory settings, does the firmware version revert to the original version?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just installed my new Cisco E3000 and configured it over the HTTP interface, as I have on previous routers. I am unable to find any setting for the "Guest" wireless network (outbound internet only), or the Parental controls. Both of these are features of interest, and they're simply not listed in any of the web-based settings.
Puzzled, I did a Factory Reset and configured it via the Cisco Connect instead.. this had the Guest feature and Parental controls, but none of the other features I need, like QOS, or Port Forwarding, or DHCP disable.
It seems like the Web interface only configures some settings, and the Cisco Connect configures other settings, but I can't use them both.
Where does one set up the additional password for Guest access? Other than this, the router works fine on 2.4 & 5 GHz, nice..
I'm trying to set up an Iomega Home Media Network Cloud NAS and I'm having problems with opening ports 50500-50599. I have opened port 80 and 443 successfully and included the above port range above as well, but when I check it on www.yougetsignal.com the ports 50500-50599 are still closed. I even tried to split the range in two parts, and still no success. I have been in contact with my ISP and confirmed they do not block any ports in the 50500-50599 range and that the cable modem (a Motorola SBV5120) is operating in Bridge Mode.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am finally duffing my WRT 610N (N=Never consistent in performance) main router and WRT54G that I am using up in my shop as an expander. Now I am going to a E4200 Main Router and E3000 for my secondary router (Truthfully a dual band expander).
Am I going to just simply Flash my 610 to default , disconnect it and pack it away , Setup my new E4200 , Plug in my E3000 into port 1 and go about giving it a separate IP Addy? Or can I expect a **bleep**? Any setup tips?
Wirelessly I am running 2 laptops , a PS3 , Xbox 360 , Epson printer , a picture frame and Samsung Blue Ray and TV, and on occasion 2 android phones. On the Wired side (Ethernet) I have a Sling Box , a Desktop , and the router up in the shop. This is the normal load and never everything all at once (Although it has been done).
I reset unplug did everything according from cisco.com it didn't work.Can not go to 192.168.1.245. What next I need to do to make it work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was having some connectivity issues with my network of WAP54G's, so I had a technician come to have them looked at. The technician turned out to be completely clueless, and he messed up one of the APs in the process. He changed its IP address and apparently updated its firmware, but he didn't write the new address down, so now I can't access its administrator panel. I've tried to retrieve the IP address using the setup CD that came with the AP, but it doesn't even see the AP in my network. I've tried to factory reset the AP by holding the reset button for 10, 30 and 60 seconds and unplugging the power cord, but to no avail. It still doesn't bring up the admin panel when I enter the default IP in the browser. I think I've tried everything I could find on the Internet about this problem that didn't involve cracking the AP open, but none of it has worked.

BUT no matter how I've fiddled with the wireless settings I cannot get any of the laptops or mobile phones to connect wireless to the network.The Windows software on the laptops 'finds' the router OK but for some reason the router seems unwilling to supply an IP address.I've checked ALL of the settings that I can think of, and all are correct ... well, all are exactly the same as my old router which worked perfectly.

I assume from this the required bin has either been removed, renamed or overwritten.As soon as the router boots it requires a password and I dont have the password to be able ftp files in and out of it.
I have installed DD-WRT firmware onto my new D-Link DIR-615. It causes some problems and I'd like to re-flash router with orginal firmware. View 5 Replies View RelatedMy computer is an XPS 360 with alot of upgrades. After looking at the specs of D-links routers I thought I give it a try. Hooked up, works like a dream. Couple months later my computer was saying I have "limited connectivity." All of the other computers have full access and works great. I tried going to my routers home page, but all I get is "The server at 192.168.0.1 is taking too long to respond." Ive tried renewing the ipconfig, restarting everything, new cables....everything I can imagine. I tried calling my ISP and they told me it wasnt there fault, that its pretty much on my end. I called Dell for support, said my warranty went out and they cant do a thing.
